Self-winding watch The object of the present invention is a self-winding watch, the rotating or oscillating mass of which winds independently of its direction of rotation, by means of an inverter comprising two references meshing between them and pivoting. around an axis parallel to the axes of the references and located in the median plane of these axes.
This arrangement is known, but has the disadvantage that the reverser, the references of which are carried by a plate or rocker, is mounted cantilevered on the frame, on a short axis, generally too short to ensure flawless operation of the automatic device.
In order to remedy this drawback, in the watch which is the subject of the present invention, the plate and the various bridges located above the latter, two of these members each carry one of two superimposed coaxial bearings, in which is pivoted the axis of rotation of the reverser.
The drawing shows an embodiment of this watch, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a semi-schematic elevation view thereof, bridges and plate being seen in section.
Fig. 2 corresponds to a section through II-II of FIG. 3, which is a plan view of the inverter and a part holding it in place.
Fig. 4, finally, is a section through IV-IV of fig. 3.
In the section of fig. 1, we can see the rotating or oscillating mass 1 and, directly below, the upper bridge 2 of the automatic device, the lower bridge 3 of the automatic device, a bridge 4 of the movement, and finally plate 5. The representation of these elements is more or less schematic, that is to say that, normally, they will be found at the levels shown, but without presenting the profiles and positions resulting from the drawing.
Somewhere, between these elements, will be the rocker 6 of the reverser, carrying the two references 7 and 8 meshing between them. Their axes are riveted or driven into the plate constituting said rocker.
The latter pivots freely around an axis 9 parallel to the axes of the references and located in the median plane of these axes.
The section of FIG. 1 passes through the reference axes and through axis 9, for convenience of representation.
While, usually, the axis playing the role of the axis 9 is short and mounted cantilever on the frame, it can be seen that the axis 9 of the example shown is supported by two superimposed coaxial bearings, of which the 'an upper 10 is located in a bridge of the movement and the other lower 11, is located in the plate.
This arrangement ensures a large distance between these bearings and, consequently, a safe and precise operation of the reverser.
One of these two bearings of axis 9 could also be placed in one of the two bridges, lower or upper, automatic and the other in the plate or, in general, these two bearings could each be placed between any two of the elements constituted by the plate and the bridges which surmount it.

In height, that is to say axially, the reverser is here maintained by a plate 12 placed above the rocker and carried by the lower bridge 3 of the automatic device.
This plate could, depending on the arrangement adopted, be on another bridge, just as the rocker could be maintained by a bridge fixed to the movement and fulfilling only this single function.
