Extendable support for the presentation of an object such as a wristwatch, bracelet, etc. The present invention relates to an expandable support for the presentation of an object such as a wristwatch, bracelet, etc. This support is charac terized by the fact that it comprises a cylindrical casing which contains a flexible metal strip wound on itself and passing through, in an adjustable amount, an opening of this casing which carries, above said opening, a guide flange against which resiliently rests said strip whose outer end to the housing has an upper hook, while the housing carries, below the opening,
a lower hook directed downwards, the whole so that, when the upper end of the object is engaged on the upper hook and one of the other part of this object on the lower hook, said object is kept stretched between the two hooks.
The appended drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, one embodiment of this support and a variant.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a partial side elevational view with vertical section through a median plane of the housing.
Fig. 3 is a partial elevational view of the variant, with vertical section through a median plane of the housing.
Fig. 4 shows a detail in perspective, and FIG. 5 is a cross section of the metal strip, through V-V of FIG. 2. The support shown comprises at its base a cylindrical housing 1. containing a flexible metal strip 2, with an arcuate cross section (FIG. 5) giving it a certain rigidity. This lique metal strip 2 is wound on itself inside the housing 1.
It passes through a rectangular opening 3 of the housing 1 which carries a lateral vertical bar 4 extending by a horizontal arm 5 bent twice in opposite directions to form a guide flange. The housing 1 has, at its base, two lateral support legs 6 and a point 7 intended to sink into a base 8 (fig. 3) on which rest the support legs 6. The housing 1 carries, below the opening 3, a lower hook 9 directed downwards.
By its two edges, the metal strip 2 is applied against the rear branch of the guiding flange 5; its upper end forms a hook 10 on which the end loop 12 of one of the strands of the bracelet of a wristwatch 13 can be engaged, while the lower hook 9 passes through a perforation of the other strand 13 'of this bracelet. It suffices to pull the metal strip 2 upwards by the desired amount to keep the strap stretched between the two hooks 9 and 10, part of the actual strap passing through the guide strap 5.
A removable indicator plate 14 carries, on its rear face, a small passage 15 which can be secured on the guide flange 5 to support this plate 14.
In the variant shown in FIG. 3, the housing 1 carries, inside, a stop rod 16 parallel to the generatrices of its cylindrical wall 17; this rod 16 is intended to prevent an abrupt but spontaneous, unwanted extraction of the strip 18 from the housing by elastic reaction, when the length of wound strip becomes very small. This strip 18 has, for this purpose, at its inner end, a hook 19 which abuts against the rod 16, which stops the extraction of the strip from the housing.
