<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present invention relates to a time counter making it possible in particular to measure the duration of telephone conversations. This meter is characterized by an operating member mounted in the meter box so that it can be moved by pressure, by a rocker arranged in a plane parallel to the plate, able to oscillate around an axis perpendicular to the latter. , controlled by the actuator, connected to the mainspring and provided with toothing, by a pinion fixed to an axis carrying the indicator device and meshing with the teeth of the rocker,
and by a friction coupling device which connects this pinion to the regulator.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention, associated with a telephone apparatus.
Fig. 1 is a front view of the counter and part of the call disc; fig. 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of FIG. 1; fig. 3 is a plan view of the counter, the push button, the dial and the indicator hand having been removed.
The counter shown comprises a clockwork movement 10, a dial 11 bearing a graduation from zero to six minutes, an indicator hand 12 and a protective casing 13 which fits onto the movement. It is mounted on the fixed part of the housing of a telephone device around which the call disc 14 rotates by means of a fixing device, not shown.
The movement 10 comprises a plate 15 and a bridge 16 connected by studs 17, a drive blade 18 fixed at 19 on the plate 15, a rocker 20 articulated at 21 on this same plate, a center mobile 22 and a regulating device 23 .
The rocker 20 is formed by a beak 24 which bears against the end of the blade 18 and by a base 25 which has an opening in which is cut a toothing 26 in engagement with the pinion 27 of the mobile 22. This mobile is formed by an axis 28 on which the pinion 27 is wedged and by a wheel 29 applied against the side of this pinion by a spring 45 bearing on a collar 46 so as to be able to rotate with high friction on its axis.
A stop 30, integral with the plate 15, fixes one of the limits between which the latch 24 can pivot. When the rocker is applied against this stop, the needle 12 coincides with the number zero of the scale of the dial 11.
The return of this needle to its starting point, that is to say in coincidence with the number 6 and the winding of the mainspring, that is to say the winding of the blade 18, take place simultaneously by means of a device comprising a push-button 31 sliding axially in the center of the cover 13, and a lever 32 of which one of the arms 41 is in contact with the button 31 and of which the other arm 38 is engaged in an opening 33 formed in the opening of the base 25. The pivot 34 of this lever, which moves in a plane perpendicular to the dial 11, is mounted on a support 35 fixed on the plate 15.
When the button 31 is pressed, the lever 32 pivots in the direction of the arrow Fi and the rocker 20 in the direction of the arrow F2, which has the effect, on the one hand, of rotating the axis 28 in the wheel 29 which is blocked by the regulating device 23, and,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
on the other hand, to bandage the blade 18 in. bending it in the direction of arrow F3.
The position that the rocker 20 must occupy at the end of this operation is fixed by the edge 36 of an opening 37 of the plate 15 in which the end of the arm 38 of the lever 32 is engaged. When the rocker reaches this position, the needle 12, which has rotated with the axis 28, coincides with the number 6 of the scale of the dial.
When the movement has been wound up and the hand 12 placed in coincidence with the number 6 in the manner indicated above, and that the push button 31 has been abandoned, the hand 12 moves opposite the dial and the rocker 20 returns to its initial position. After the elapse of a time equal to six minutes, at the end of which the hand 12 coincides with the number 0, the rocker 25 is stopped by the stop 30 and the counter stops.
The envelope 13 is made of plastic, its front wall is formed of a transparent part 39 adjacent to the dial 11 and of a frosted part 40 located in front of the part 39 so as to leave a space for the movement of the arm 41 lever 32.
The mainspring could also be constituted by a coil spring.
