Uarbre 62 est solidaire d'un maneton63 qui est relié, par l'intermédiaire d7une articulation 64,à une biellette extensible65. Cette dernière peut être allon gée ou raccourcie au moyen eun écrou66 et cela pour adapter le dispositif exactement au diamètre intérieur du tubeà cintrer. Uautre extrémité de la biellette65 porte un galet67 et elle est reliée au maneton68 solidaire d'un arbre principal69 par l'in termédiaire d'une biellette70 et d'articulations71, 72 ;
Internal circular rolling device for a tube bending machine The present invention relates to an internal circular rolling device for a tube bending machine.
Machines are known for cold bending tubes of a large diameter by rolling the walls of these tubes, around an axis eccentric with respect to the axis of the tube. tube, so that the tube wall which is on the side of the outer arc of the bent tube is thinned by rolling without the thickness of the opposite wall being substantially changed.
In this way, the laminate wall elongates to the maximum along the outer arc, while the movement of the metal along the inner arc is practically zero. The elongation of the outer arc with respect to to the inner arc determines the radius of curvature which depends only on the rolling depth. By adjusting the rolling depth to as desired, it is thus possible to obtain, with the same tooling, all the bending radii that one wishes.
In the machines. simple, this adjustment is made when the machine is stopped by changing the eccentric axis of the rolling wheel while, in more sophisticated machines, the adjustment radius of curvature is obtained while the machine is running. Despite the thinning of the wall, the resistance of the tube does not decrease and this for two reasons : the rolling produces the hardening of the metal giving it a greater resistance and, independently of that, the resistance to breaking along an arc of a circle is greater than than that following the generation of a cylindrical hollow body.
In spite of the indisputable advantages of this process of bending by rolling, the machines produced for the bending of tubes by lainina ,, Y:, e eccentric had some drawbacks and the present invention is precisely aimed to eliminate them mainly by improving the rolling head.
In the old machines in particular, it was possible to indirectly adjust the rolling depth by means of two separate devices, on the one hand to adjust the distance between the axis of the tube and the axis of the rolling circle and, on the other hand, to modify the length of the rolling radius, and the sum of the displacements obtained by the two aforementioned positive devices was equal to to the depth of the rolling of the tube wall.
The object of the present invention is to improve and simplify the operation by eliminating the two aforementioned settings, and replacing them with a single device making it possible to directly obtain the desired rolling depth.
A this effect, the device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a head-holder for wheels intended to turn to the interior of the tube to to bend and having a rolling wheel and at least one opposing wheel bearing on the internal surface of the tube in one.
location opposite to the contact region of the rolling wheel, while a mechanism housed in the roller head and actuated by an extending shaft to through the tube to to bend periodically vary to each turn of the knurling head the relative positions of the knurling wheel rolling and wrench the support wheel, a mechanism allowing the adjustment of these variations of positions while the machine is running. An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, to by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is an axial longitudinal section of the part & a tube. in the process of bending, rolled by the rolling head. Fig. 2 shows the rolling head in cross section.
Figs. 3 and 4 show in axial section and in transverse section a control device which can be used in the form and execution of figs. 1 and 2.
The rolling device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a rolling head 1 consisting of a cylindrical body having recesses for accommodating a rolling wheel 2 and support wheels 3 </ B> being able to rotate freely on bearings with needles around their respective axes 4 and 5. The periphery of the rolling wheel presents, in an axial plane, a convex profile ensuring contact with the wall of the tube to to bend on a surface, small enough to allow the wheel to penetrate into the metal, while the periphery of each support wheel has a to roughly recti-line profile ensuring contact over a large area against to penetration into the metal.
The axis 4 is eccentric in the part 6 around which the wheel 2 turns and this eccentricity is directed towards the outer bending arc, at the place of rolling, this which allows at this location the maximum rolling depth. The eccentricity of part 6 of axis 4 can be kept constant in the same direction during the rotation of the knurling head, for example by the meshing of axis 4 with a central shaft fixed via suitable gear trains.
However, a preferred embodiment will be described hereinafter in which the shaft 4 receives periodic angular displacement during the rotation of the knurling head, so that the distance between the plane of the axes of the two support rolls and the axis of the rolling roll varies periodically to each revolution of the roll head.
The tube to to bend 7 is engaged in a bezel formed by two jaws not shown in the drawing, and serving as a support for the wall of the tube rolled by the wheel 2.
The adjustment of the rolling depth is obtained by changing the amplitude of the periodic angular displacement of the roll-holder shaft 4 and this at each revolution of the roll-holder head. In particular, if there is no angular oscillation, there is no rolling, and the greater the angle of oscillation, the more the rolling depth is increased.
The average angular speed of a central shaft 8 is exactly the same as that of the roll head 1, that is to say. that a full turn of the first organ corresponds to a full turn of the second since they turn together. However, the central shaft 8 is animated in an angular oscillatory movement with respect to the head 1, which rotates < B> at constant speed.
This oscillation is transmitted via toothed wheels 9 and 10 to axis 4, the eccentric part of which 6, carrying the wheel 2, has the effect of periodically bringing the wheel 2 closer to the wall to laminate 7, and this to each turn of the roll-holder head, at the moment when the roll passes perpendicularly through the generatrix of the tube which has to constitute, after rolling, the outer arc of curvature of the bent tube.
When the rolling wheel 2 is on the opposite side, that is to say on the generator which must constitute the internal arc of the bent tube, it no longer presses on the wall of the tube since the reverse movement of the eccentric 6 of axis 4 moved it away from this wall. In other words, thanks to the oscillatory movements of re-centric 6, the rolling depth reaches its maximum at each rolling revolution, and all the points corresponding to the maximum of the rolling depth are staggered longitudinally on the line forming the outer arc of the bent tube.
In summary, if the oscillation angle of the eccentric of shaft 4 is close to zero, the tube will not be rolled and it will come out straight. By increasing this angle, the rolling depth is at the same time increased. Thus, the distance between the laminating wheel and each supporting wheel varies periodically to each turn of the thumbwheel head so as to reach its maximum when the wheel of rolling crosses the axial plane of the tube to to bend containing the generator intended to form the external arc of bending which corresponds to the maximum of the rolling depth and to present on the contrary its minimum when the rolling wheel has turned in relation to the axis of the tube by 180o to from
the previous position while crossing then the axial plane containing the generatrix of the tube intended to form the internal bending arc along which the metal must not be rolled.
In the embodiment described, the oscillation is transmitted to the eccentric 6 by the central shaft 8 and by the intermediary toothed wheels 9 and 10, but it is possible to make this flexible transmission, for example by a double cardan joint connecting the end of the oscillating central shaft 8 at the end of the eccentric roll-holder shaft 4 to which this oscillation will be transmitted.
Figs. 3 and 4 show the device intended to produce the angular oscillation of the central shaft 8 forming part of the device described and represented in FIGS. 1 and 2. The purpose of this device is to adjust the amplitude of the oscillations of the central shaft 8. For this purpose, at the end of the machine opposite to the rolling head, a cylindrical cage 61 is placed at the center of which emerges a shaft 62, integral with the shaft 8 which must transmit the oscillating movement to the shaft 4 carrying the wheel rolling 2.
The 62 shaft is integral with a crank pin 63 which is connected, via a joint 64, to an extendable link 65 . The latter can be lengthened or shortened by means of a nut 66 and this to adapt the device exactly to the internal diameter of the tube to be bent. The other end of the rod 65 carries a roller 67 and it is connected to the crankpin 68 secured to a main shaft 69 </ B> by means of a link 70 and articulations 71, 72;
the shaft 69 is integral with the rolling head 1. 12all the two connecting rods 65, 70 </ B> and the two crank pins 63, 6 # 8 comprising a fixed axis 73 and three articulations 64, 61, 72 constitutes a deformable quadrilateral presenting four sides the lengths of which do not vary during rotation about the 73 axis and of which only the angles are subject to variation. The variation of the angles is obtained by moving the joint closer or further away from the axis 71 from the axis 73. For example, by moving the joint 71 towards axis 73, the angle of the crankpins 63, 68 is increased and by moving in the opposite direction, the angle in question is reduced.
In this way, the limited angular periodic rotation of the central shaft 62 inside the main shaft 69 can be obtained and, as the former transmits - its oscillating movement to the eccentric roll holder 6, it is easy to understand that the mechanism allows the rolling depth to be progressively varied from point to the other of the rolled periphery.
To obtain the periodic variation of the distance between the mobile point 71 and the fixed point 73, it suffices to make the mobile point describe a circle whose center is eccentric by relative to the fixed point 73.
If the minimum distance between the two aforementioned points is fixed, the amplitude of the angular oscillation of the central shaft 62 with respect to to the main shaft 69 will always have the same value and therefore the of rolling depth along the outer arc will always be the same, so that the radius of bending will be constant.
To modify at as you wish the bending radius while the machine is running, you must modify the oscillation angle of the eccentric wheel holder and, consequently , the angle (oscillation of the central shaft 62. To do this, it suffices to control the amplitude of the variations in the distance between points 71 and 73 -, in other words, it suffices to check the eccentricity of the axis of the circle described by the point 71 with respect to the fixed point 73.
If the eccentricity is zero, there will be no rolling. By increasing the eccentricity of the path of the movable point 71 with respect to the fixed point 73, the rolling depth is increased.
The practical realization of this movement is shown in fig. 3 where one notices inside the inside of the fixed cylindrical cage 61 a mobile cage 74 that can be moved relative to the first cage along its longitudinal axis. This movement can be carried out with using the screw 75 and a steering wheel 76. A portion 77 of the inner wall of the mobile cage 74 is conical and the axis of taper is inclined relative to to the axis 73 of the shaft 62 </ B > of the machine, the two axes intersecting in the plane of the large base of the frustoconical surface.
As the roller 67, whose axis is at point 71, rolls inside the inside of the cage 74, the inclination of the axis of this cage makes it possible to modify the eccentricity by the longitudinal displacement of the cage 74 within the interior of the cage 61 to </ B > Handwheel 76. In the position of the drawing, the eccentricity reaches its maximum since the roller 67 occupies the position closest to the axis of the shaft 62. By moving the cage 74 to the right, the roller is moved away from the axis 73 of the shaft 62, and when this roller is in contact with the widest part of the cage 74, the center of the rotation path of the roller 67 merges with the axis 73 of the shaft < B> 62 and the angular oscillation is zero.
Consequently, there is then no rolling along the eccentric axis since the offset has been eliminated.
To bend the tube, we always start with the zero position without eccentricity, then, while the tube advances in the bezel, we turn the handwheel 76 , thus pulling the cage 74 to the left of the fig. 3, that is to say towards the rear of the machine, then it is stopped in the position corresponding to the bending radius that we want to obtain.
The roller 67 is pressed against the conical interior surface of the cage 74 by centrifugal force, as also by any spring not shown in the drawing.
