Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

      l'impédance du circuit avec la self non saturée augmente de sorte que la

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 Stabilization device with saturated magnetic core The main patent relates to a stabilization device with saturated magnetic core, making it possible to obtain an output current or voltage which, as desired, increases, remains constant or decreases when the supply voltage increases above a certain value, this device being characterized by the fact that it comprises two circuits supplied in parallel, each by a voltage proportional to the variable input voltage and each comprising, in series, a self-inductance with a saturated core, and an impedance, the self-inductors saturating for different voltages, and an effect of the currents flowing through the impedances being put in opposition for these two circuits.

  However, this device has the particularity of being quite sensitive to frequency variations. The present invention aims to provide a device of the same type but which is practically insensitive to these variations. Its object, like the main patent, is a stabilization device with a saturated magnetic core, making it possible to obtain an output current or voltage which, as desired, increases, remains constant or decreases when the supply voltage increases. above a certain value, this device being distinguished however by the fact that it comprises two circuits supplied in parallel, each by a voltage proportional to the variable input voltage and comprising, one,

   a self-inductance with a saturated core, in series with an impedance, and the other a reactive circuit comprising an impedance and the slope of the intensity characteristic of which as a function of the voltage varies with the frequency, an effect of the currents passing through said impedances being put in opposition for these two circuits.

  The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention. Fig. 1 is a circuit diagram of a first embodiment; fig. 2 is a diagram illustrating the operation of this embodiment; fig. 3 is a circuit diagram of a second embodiment.

  The device according to fig. 1 is similar to that according to FIG. 3 of the main patent. It differs from it simply by the fact that the self-inductance I.1 is here an inductor with an unsaturated core. This device comprises two circuits each supplied by a variable input voltage U and comprising, one a self-inductance 4 with a saturated core and an impedance Z2 in series, the other a circuit comprising an ordinary inductance Ll and an impedance Zl arranged in series.

   An effect (in this case the voltages at the terminals of Zl and Z2) of the currents flowing through the impedances Zl and Z2 are put in opposition for these two circuits. Z. is the load impedance.

  This device works as shown in the diagram according to fig. 2.

  The line oil corresponds to the characteristic of the current flowing in the circuit of the unsaturated choke. If U2o represents the saturation voltage of the saturated inductor L2 and U2oa2 the characteristic of the current in the second circuit, the current flowing in the load impedance will be constant if the two slopes of these characteristics are equal and for a supply voltage greater than U20. This arrangement makes it possible to obtain a practically constant current for a variable frequency.

   Indeed, if the frequency increases, the saturation voltage of the inductor 4 which is proportional to the frequency takes the value U'2o, the characteristic U'2oi'2 remaining parallel to U2,1,. On the other hand,

      the impedance of the circuit with the unsaturated choke increases so that the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 characteristic of the current in this circuit becomes oi'1 which makes it possible to obtain the same current in the load impedance for the supply voltage U'20. If the frequency decreases, the device operates with characteristics U "20i" 2 and oi "1 and the nominal current is obtained for voltage U" 20. The variation of the slope of the characteristic oil as a function of the frequency

  can also be obtained by replacing the unsaturated choke Ll by a capacitor in parallel with the impedance Zl.

  These two cases have this in common that the circuit which contains L1 where the capacitor is a reactive circuit comprising an impedance and whose slope of the current characteristic as a function of the voltage varies with the frequency.

     Since the slope of one of the characteristics of the current varies with the frequency, the current flowing in the load impedance is not entirely independent of the supply voltage for a frequency different from the frequency nominal, however the error obtained for small variations in frequency is negligible.

  This device can be applied to a series transducer so as to obtain an extended adjustment range and an output current greater than the currents flowing in the two premagnetization circuits.

  Fig. 3 shows all the connections of such an arrangement.

     Z, and Z't represent the working windings of the transducer and Zl and Z2 the premagnetization windings supplied by the circuits comprising the unsaturated choke L1 and the saturated choke L2. The flows of Z1 and Z2 are in opposition. For the device to function properly, the impedance of the premagnetization circuits must be matched to the values of the chokes L1 and L2, which is obtained using the matching resistors RI and R2.

   In a variant, these adaptation resistors RI, R2, could be connected in parallel to the windings Zl, Z2. In both cases, the impedance in series with L1, respectively L2, is constituted by that of the winding Z1, respectively Z2 and by RI, respectively R2.

  In the example shown, the working windings Zt, Z't of the transducer are coupled in series and supplied by the variable input voltage U. In a variant, these windings could be coupled in parallel.

     Finally, in the examples described, the circuits L1, Zl and L # 2, 7 @ are both supplied by the voltage U itself. It could be advantageous, in certain cases, to supply these two circuits with different voltages but both proportional to U, the coefficient of proportionality being different for the two circuits (which can naturally be equal to 1 for one of them).
