Description

Support device for achieving a closed, free space between the blanket and the resting area of a bed The invention relates to a supporting device for achieving a closed, free space between the blanket and the resting area of a bed which does not take up any bulky space when not in use.

The invention consists in that the support device consists of a resilient, archable panel. This condition is fulfilled e.g. B. already a piece of cardboard that caves about from the knee to the armpit and is arched upwards along the body. Such a resilient panel tends to bend back into a plane.

Even the low load of a blanket can be enough for the side edges of the panel to be pressed a little into the resting area and to find support there. In addition, during use, the resting surface is strongly depressed under the load of a human body and forms a trough, on the edge parts of which the side edges of the support device according to the invention can find a secure hold. In addition, nothing stands in the way of edging the edges of a support device according to the invention with rough material or shaping them during the manufacture of the plate in such a way that the frictional resistance between the side edges of the support device and the resting area on the user's sides is sufficiently large.

Instead of cardboard, you could use stiff leather, stiffened textiles or pressboard. In order to keep the support device according to the invention more clean, washable materials are recommended, especially those that are poor conductors of heat and do not induce the feeling of cold when the body comes into contact with the device. It is therefore advisable to manufacture support devices according to the invention from plastics such as polyethylene or polyurethane.

Depending on the user, it may be advisable to provide openings in the support device according to the invention, for example in the manner of a latticework, which ensure good and draft-free ventilation of the space above the human body created by the device. It is sufficient to attach these openings only to the arched parts of the support device according to the invention. This ensures a slight arching of the table, and the sides used for support retain sufficient strength.

The shape of the perforations is largely arbitrary, so that one can choose those perforations without hesitation which at the same time give the support device according to the invention a particularly appealing appearance.

In order to prevent the cover from sliding down from the support device according to the invention during use, elevations can be provided on the upper side in a further exemplary embodiment, which can be in the form of longitudinal strips or individual projections. You can also stiffen the long sides of the support device and arch a little upwards so that the side parts of the cover can hold it.

The dimensions of a support device according to the invention are expediently chosen so that the cover rests on the feet and the neck.

The drawing shows a support device according to the invention in the position of use on a couch instead of for example.

On the resting surface 1 of a bed 2 there is a resilient plate 3, which is provided with ventilation openings 4 which become larger towards the middle. The longitudinal edges 5 of this plate 3 each carry a foam rubber strip 6, which prevents the rest area 1 from overburdening the resting area and at the same time preventing the edges 5 from slipping outwards when the plate 3 is bent into the upwardly curved position shown.

Claims (1)

Attempts have already been made to protect painful areas of the body from the pressure of the duvet by placing a steep ge of rigid rods or brackets over the body of the resting person, which is supported on the resting surface next to the resting person and absorbs the weight of the duvet. However, such racks take up a lot of space when not in use. It has also already been proposed to produce such support frames from brackets or rods which are folded together or pushed into one another when not in use. Here the space requirement is much smaller when not in use, but these support devices are very expensive to purchase and require a great deal of care when using. It is therefore understandable if the known support devices are only used in the case of the seriously ill and almost exclusively in hospitals. The invention enables a support device that neither causes high costs nor takes up any space when not in use, is insensitive to use, can be easily cleaned and gives the many people who suffer from night sweats complete relaxation and restful rest.
