Description
Wound capacitor with non-shrunk plastic films as the dielectric The patent relates to a wound capacitor which contains non-shrunk plastic films as the dielectric, as well as a method for producing such a capacitor. Such winding capacitors are, if they are not wound on a mandrel that remains in the winding,
easily deformable by pressure. Furthermore, the connecting wires to the assignments can easily be pulled out of them, since they are only: Are conductively attached to the assignments.
To remedy these disadvantages, these capacitors can be wound on mandrels remaining in the coil, they can be encapsulated or encapsulated with an insulating material, or they can also be built into a housing. However, these measures make these capacitors considerably more expensive to manufacture.
The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a simple measure by means of which wound capacitors of the type mentioned are to be mechanically solidified and by means of which the connecting wires are anchored in the coil more firmly than previously seemed possible.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that between the turns of the winding capacitor a thin layer of hardened synthetic resin is introduced in places, which glues the turns together.
For this purpose: according to the further inven tion, the coverings are provided with drops of curable synthetic resin in places immediately before winding. These drops flow when winding and form the said thin layers and are hardened, whereby the turns stick together ver.
A coherent synthetic resin layer can extend over several turns.
The synthetic resin layers can be introduced not only in the area of the attachment points of the connecting wires, but also in the area of the initial empty turns or the end empty turns of the coil, so that: the outer boundaries of the coil are hardened by the hardenable synthetic resin are.
The wound capacitors designed in this way are mechanically strong enough to be overmolded or overmolded even if they do not have a core in the winding cavity. They can then also be built into a housing for moisture protection.
In the drawing, the production of an exemplary embodiment of a wound capacitor according to the invention is illustrated schematically, for example.
The covering foils 3, 4 and the plastic foils 5, 6 lead to the already partially finished winding 1 with the cavity 2, in which the winding mandrel is only located during the winding. On one covering, the flattened part 7 is one Welded connection wire.
Immediately before winding up, a drop 8 of thermosetting synthetic resin is applied to the flattened part 7, which drops flow when the capacitor is wound up. Cold-curing synthetic resins can also be used, ie synthetic resins that solidify at room temperature.
In one embodiment, a cast iron wire with a tensile strength of 4.5 kg was used. If it was not anchored as described here, it could be pulled out of the coil with a pull of a few 100 g. But if it was anchored with hardened synthetic resin, it could not be pulled out of the coil, but rather it tore outside the coil under the pull of 4.5 kg.
The measure described has proven particularly useful when using polyethylene terephthalate and cellulose triacetate films as the dielectric and when using epoxy resin as a thermosetting resin to solidify the winding and to anchor the connecting wires.
