Description

  La     fig.    2 est une variante dans laquelle on prévoit  deux étages de sélection de groupe, soit un premier  étage constitué par les sections principales     SP1,        SP2     et un second étage constitué par les sections secon  daires     SS1,        SS2,        SS3.    Le second étage est utilisé aussi  bien pour le trafic normal que pour l'entraide ;

Automatic telephone system Main patent No 337575 relates to an automatic telephone system with interchangeable line selection elements and group selection elements and with recorders, call seekers and markers, an installation which is characterized in that at least one independent marker tester is arranged to receive a call from a subscriber and is able to choose a call seeker, the role of the marker being limited to to establish the link between the searcher thus chosen and the line of the calling subscriber,

these arrangements make it possible to obtain for the line selection element identical operating conditions in the case of a calling subscriber as in that of a called subscriber and consequently to make the group selection element interchangeable and the 'row selection element.

In this patent, a description has been given of a selection element making it possible to choose either a group of local subscribers or an outgoing direction. This selection element, among other advantages, has a very high selection capacity, which makes it possible to constitute large bundles of output lines and thus to obtain an economy of lines by the resulting increase in efficiency. .

However, this capacity is not indefinite and for practical reasons, it does not appear advantageous to exceed a certain number of outputs per group selection element (around a thousand). However, it happens that this capacity is exceeded in very large exchanges and that we are thus led to add a second group selection stage.

The present invention, which relates to an installation as defined above, proposes to reduce the number of selectors of this second stage to a very small quantity by making arrangements such that the outgoing lines of each direction constitute a group. single, an incoming line whatever having access to any line of said group, and this even if the number of outgoing lines exceeds the normal capacity of a selection element.

This installation, in which the different group selection elements giving access to the same outgoing lines form a main section or primary section, is characterized by the fact that the different lines of a direction are partly connected on the banks of a main section and entirely on those of a determined mutual aid selection element accessible to all the main sections, this partially selective mutual aid installation allowing any incoming line to have access to all the lines of the bundle either directly , either through a self-help selection element,

all the lines of the beam being thus arranged in a single group operated with the maximum efficiency through the use of a small number of mutual aid selection elements.

The accompanying drawings relate to an embodiment and a variant of the subject of the invention, given without limitation. The figures of the drawings represent only what relates directly to the invention.

Fig. 1 is a simplified diagram of the use of mutual aid selectors for the grouping of outgoing beams.

Fig. 2 is a variant of FIG. 1 according to which one uses the second stage of group selection for mutual aid.

We will now, referring to FIG. 1, describe an embodiment of the invention. The different group selection elements giving access to the same outgoing lines form a main section or primary section; three of them, SP1, SP2, SP3 have been shown in the figure. From each of said sections leaves a number of lines which can reach the normal capacity of a selection element, ie generally 1000 lines, of which only 5 1s11, 1s12, 1s13, 1s14, 1s15 have been shown.

As many main sections are formed as necessary to distribute all of the outgoing lines over the various primary sections while maintaining a sufficient number of links to mutual aid selectors.

A part of the outgoing lines can be assigned individually to each main section, when the search for a better yield of these lines is not of prime interest or when their yield is little affected by their division. Another part of the outgoing lines is accessible to the other main sections, but through mutual help selectors.

Thus, for example, the outgoing line lsll is served by the main section SPI and only by said section; on the other hand, line 1s12, normally served by the main section SPI and ending in the CAl cable, is also accessible to the other two main sections, but indirectly, that is to say by the intermediary of the cable CA4 and of the self-help section element SEL The self-help selection elements SE1, SE2 are constituted as group selection elements.

Their number is equal to the number of outgoing lines accessible to all the main sections divided by the capacity of such a selection element, since any line must be able to be reached through a self-help selection element.

Each self-help selection element is connected to each main section by a number of lines sufficient to handle the overflow traffic; in fig. 1, these lines are designated by the references 1s14, 1s15, 1s24, 1s25, 1s34, 1s35. These lines can themselves be divided into sectionings inside of each main section.

Such a division makes it possible to reserve the greatest number of outlets from the main sections to outgoing lines; it tends to increase the number of links between the first selection stage and the mutual aid stage, but as the traffic they carry is low, their number is still very limited.

The CAl cable is assumed to contain all the lines of a determined direction; as can be seen in the figure, these lines are distributed over the benches of the three main sections SP1, SP2, SP3 but are all connected to the benches of the mutual aid selection element SEL Like said mutual aid selection element is accessible to the three main sections SP1, SP2, SP3, it is understood that any main section can have access to any line of the beam CAl either directly or by mutual aid.

Thus, for example, the line 1s12 of the beam CA1 is directly accessible to the main section SPI ; it is only used for the other two sections SP2, SP3 by means of the mutual aid selection element SEL On each main section are represented all the outgoing directions. On the contrary, on each self-help selection element, only part of the outgoing directions are represented; thus, for example, if two self-help selection elements are necessary, half of the directions could be represented on one of the two elements and the other half on the other element.

Mutual assistance is therefore not general, but partially selective, in the sense that each element of mutual assistance selection serves only part of the management. When a main section does not give access to any free line in the requested direction, a choice must be made, not of a mutual aid selector whatever, but of the mutual aid selector which serves the direction considered. The set of incoming lines, such as lel, let, 1e3, has been designated as LE; all outgoing lines have been designated by LS.

It will be assumed that a call arrives on an incoming line lel to a direction of which only part of the lines are represented on the output of the main section SP1.

The marker of the group selection element in service (which has not been shown in order not to complicate the figure) receives the direction indication from the recorder; it marks the lines of the direction considered accessible to said element; if one of them, 1s13, for example, is available, it is chosen and the call is passed directly. If none of these are available, the marker will designate lines such as 1s15 going to the handheld selection element SE2 which serves all lines in the requested direction.

The recorder (not shown) is then informed of the seizure of such a line and will return a second time, but on the marker of the feed-in selection element SE2, the indication of the desired direction. This marker will designate all the lines of this direction, which are contained in the cable CA2 and appear on the benches of the element SE2; in this way, the call arriving there will have access to a free line in the direction requested, either directly or through the assistance floor.

  Fig. 2 is a variant in which two group selection stages are provided, ie a first stage constituted by the main sections SP1, SP2 and a second stage constituted by the secondary sections SS1, SS2, SS3. The second floor is used both for normal traffic and for mutual aid;

thus, for example, the SS1 section has access to lines such as 1s'11 which are specific to it, for the flow of normal traffic, and to lines 1s'12 which are not directly accessible to certain primary sections, said sections that can only reach such lines via the section considered SS1 which then acts as a support floor. Some directions do not have exits on the first floor, but only on the second floor, while others have part of the exits on each main section and all of them on some elements of the second floor.

Thus, for example, the lines of the cable CAl, which are all supposed to belong to a determined direction, are distributed over the banks of the two main sections SP1, SP2, but all appear on the banks of the assistance selector SS1, accessible to him. - even to all major sections.

As in the case of fig. 1, it is a partially selective mutual aid. When a main section does not give access to any free line in the requested direction, a choice must be made, not of any assistance selector, but of the assistance selector which serves the direction in question.

The selection process is the same as in the previous case, the difference being that, for directions which do not have a direct end to the first stage, the second stage selection element which corresponds to the requested direction is systematically chosen by the first floor.

In particular, cross-bar switches could be replaced by other types of switches used in telephony, such as rotary switches, all-relay switches or even electronic switches.
