Box with compartments
The present invention relates to a box with compartments according to the claim of the main patent, that is to say in which all of the compartments constitute a block formed of juxtaposed cuvettes and coming from a molded plastic part, this block being mounted in a box body to which a cover is hinged.
This case is characterized by the fact that the bottom of at least one cup has a rib intended to engage removably in the handle of a wristwatch disposed in the cup, so as to hold this watch radially.
Fig. 1 is a plan view thereof and FIG. 2 shows a section along II-II of FIG. 1.
The box shown in the drawing comprises a box body 1, made of cardboard, and, articulated on it by means of a canvas strip which hinges, a cover 2 also made of cardboard.
The body of the box is provided with a block 3, of plastic material, obtained for example by vacuum molding and comprising two rows of adjacent cups 4 separated by a longitudinal rib 5 and transverse ribs 6. The edges 7 of the block in plastic material are glued against the cardboard walls of the box body. Of course, in another variant not shown, the ribs could be reinforced by means of intermediate cardboard strips.
The bottom of each bowl has a slight bulge in the form of an inclined ramp 8; this ramp is elastically deformable and its purpose is to elastically clamp the part 9 contained in the bowl against the cover when the latter is closed. This part can thus be maintained even without any jamming, which is of particular interest for the packaging of timepieces.
Strips of foam rubber attached to the cover are intended to hold the parts in place. Of course, the strips 10 could be placed simply in the recesses 11 made in the transverse ribs 6. Notches 12 made in the longitudinal outer walls of the block 3 are intended to allow the lateral extraction of the timepieces. To facilitate this extraction, the ramps are precisely directed in the direction of these notches. You can take out the watches without having to return the box as you usually do.
Finally 13 is a rib intended to engage in the handle of a wristwatch so as to hold the latter radially in place; by exerting a slight pull on the watch, the handle of the latter is released from the rib and it can be extracted through the notch 12.
Such a box can be used for multiple purposes but will be used primarily as a setting and shipping box for timepieces.
