Description

Photo recording device The invention relates to a photo recording device each with an adjuster for the exposure time and the aperture and with a built-in exposure meter having a photocell, the pointer of this meter being a selector switch playing over a number of adjacent contacts for connecting a power source to the contacts connected lines are formed and can be clamped onto one of these contacts.

There are photo recording devices known in which one preselects the position of one adjuster and the other adjuster by hand so far ver until a magnetic, locking device controlled by a photoelectric exposure meter comes into operation and interrupts the standing movement in the situation corresponding to the prevailing light conditions. These known arrangements made possible the correct setting of aperture and time in a semi-automatic way, but still have all the disadvantages of manual operation. Several operations are required, which take time and almost rule out snapshots.

Improper or careless operation of the sensitive arrangement can very easily result in damage. A photo recording device that automatically performs the setting process does not have these and other disadvantages.

The object of the invention is to use simple means to automatically adjust the light image recording device to the exposure factors corresponding to the respective recording. This object is achieved according to the invention in that one adjuster is provided with means for influencing the photocell current and the other adjuster is provided with a tactile element which is electrically connected to the current source via a magnetic coil and in whose path the contacts connected to the said lines are located,

so that this adjuster serves as a switch of the coil circuit prepared by the pointer of the exposure meter, and that a stop member actuated by the current flow in the coil is arranged in a stationary manner to cooperate with detents of this adjuster.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the control means having the one is an actuator, for. B. the time setting ring, set to a freely pre-selected value and the second adjuster is then automatically adjusted to a corresponding position. A photoelectric light meter is preferably used, and the locking means are controlled by an electrical device.

In the following description, an embodiment of the inventive photo recording device is explained in conjunction with the drawing. 1 shows a top view of a camera, FIG. 2 shows a detail from FIG. 1 on an enlarged scale, FIGS. 3 and 4 show details of the electrical control device in two different operating positions, FIGS. 5 to 7 show details of a safety device for the electrical control device.

The photographic camera 10 is of a well-known type and mode of operation and has a quick release lever 12 used for film transport, a rewind button 14 and a trigger 16. Furthermore, a photoelectric exposure meter is built into the camera, the power source of which influences a photocell 18 and a core magnet system 20 whose movable pointer is designated by 22.

On the front of the camera 10, a lens shutter 24 is arranged, which carries the lens 26 adjustable for distance adjustment. The lens shutter has the usual shape and is provided with a zest setting ring 28 which carries a time scale 30 which works together with a stationary mark 32. The closure sectors 34, which are actuated by a main drive element to be tensioned, for the purpose of opening and closing the objective opening are accommodated within the objective closure.

In addition, in the housing of the lens shutter 24 is an aperture device, for. B. housed an iris diaphragm equipped with diaphragm blades 36 (FIG. 4). The aperture blades are adjustable by means of an aperture setting ring 38 to various aperture openings.

The diaphragm adjusting ring 38 is coupled to a diaphragm control ring 40 with respect to the rotational movement, for example by an arm 39 of the end adjusting ring 38 engaging in a driver slot 41 of the diaphragm control ring 40.

The aperture control ring 40 is superimposed on the circumference of the shutter housing 24 and has a projection 42 which engages in the path of a mating projection 43 of a clamping ring 44 which is moved via a gear 46 from the film transport gear of the camera, ie from the quick release lever 12 . The ring 44 is rotatably mounted on the front of the camera and is under the influence of a spring 45, which tries to keep the ring counterclockwise clockwise in the rest position.

So if the quick release lever 12 according to FIG. 1 is rotated clockwise for film transport, the clamping ring 44 is adjusted counterclockwise, ie according to FIG. 1 to the left and according to FIG. 3 in the clockwise direction and the Mcndensteuerring 40 together with the Diaphragm adjusting ring 38 taken in the same direction. The diaphragm is arranged so that during this tensioning movement of the ring 44, the diaphragm is brought from its current position to one of its end positions, in the present case to full opening.

In this open position given by a stop 47, the rings 40 and 38 remain locked by a locking lug 48 which is incident in a notch 50 of the diaphragm control ring 40 (Fig. 3). The clamping ring 44 and the gear 46 return under the action of a return spring, not shown, together with the quick release lever 12 after execution of the tensioning and film transport movement back to their original position.

This clamping movement of the ring 44 guided by the quick release lever 12 can also be used to couple a clamping movement for the main closure drive member, via known means, which are therefore not shown for the sake of simplicity. The main drive element also remains locked in the tensioning position and only expires when a shutter release 52 is actuated counterclockwise according to FIG. 3.

After triggering the shutter, the main drive element runs in a known manner, with the shutter sectors being opened and closed in a set time for the purpose of exposure.

The actuation of the shutter release 52 and the unlocking of the aperture control ring 40 to 48, 50 is done according to the illustration by a pivot lever 54 which is mounted at 56 in the camera housing.

A spring 58 endeavors to pivot the pivot lever 54 according to FIG. 1 in a clockwise direction. The pivot lever 54 now carries the locking lug 48 and is located in the vicinity of the trigger 52 provided with a cam 52a in such a way that - when the pivot lever 54 is actuated counterclockwise by an inclined surface 60 of the trigger 16 when it is pressed down - both the locking lug 48 lifted from the detent 50 and shortly thereafter the trigger 52 is triggered via its inclined surface 52a.

According to the schematic illustration of FIG. 3, the pivot lever 54 moves radially away from the optical axis of the lock during the release and thereby unlocks the control ring 40 and later releases the shutter release 52.

On the control ring 40 some locking pawls 62 are seen in front of which a locking pin 64 can engage. There are at least as many notches as the aperture scale has aperture values, in the present case, for example, seven notches. In practice, one will of course also provide at least one or more additional notches between the individual basic values of the diaphragm scale so that the diaphragm control ring 40 can also be locked in intermediate positions.

The detents 62 are attached (viewed in the direction of the optical axis) on the rear side of the aperture control ring 40 and the locking pin 64 lies parallel to the optical axis and engages in these locking detents from the camera housing, as is correctly shown in FIG. In the scheme according to FIG. 3, however, the locking pin 64 is arranged radially to the optical axis for the sake of clarity and clarity. The locking pin 64 has a flange 66 and is slidably guided in a bearing 68 which is fixed in the camera housing 10.

A spring 70 acts on the locking pin and tries to adjust it so that it engages in one of the notches 62 of the diaphragm control ring 40. If, however, this ring is rotated during the initial tensioning movement, the locking pin 64 is pushed out of the notch 62, for example by oblique shape of the notches, to the extent that its flange 66 comes into the range of action of a permanent magnet system 72 and then from the poles 74 this system is attracted and held. The diaphragm control ring 40 can now move freely in the direction of the clamping position.

The aforementioned permanent magnet system 72 is accommodated in the housing of the camera 10 and has two associated coils 72 a, which are fed by a battery 76. If current now runs through the coils 72a, the magnet is counter-excited, the pin 64 drops from the pole 74 and, under the action of the spring 70, will again fall into one of the notches 62 and lock the ring 40 again.

The electrical circuit conducted by the permanent magnet 72 encloses, as schematically shown in FIG. 3, a line 78, a wiper 80, one of several contact lines 82, a contact plate 84, the pointer 22 and a line 86 to the battery 76. This contact line system with accessories is accommodated in the camera housing 10, but is shown lying to the side of the closure 24 in FIG. 3 for the sake of simplicity. It goes without saying that precautions are taken to isolate this contact line system from the rest of the metal parts of the camera or the shutter that are not connected to this circuit.

For example, the wiper 80 is seated in an isolated manner on the ring 40 and an intermediate insulating layer 16a could be provided in the trigger 16. The contact lines 82 are each assigned a contact plate 82a and 82b. The contact plates 82a are brushed by the grinder 80, while the contact plates 82b come into contact with the pointer 22 of the exposure meter, namely when this pointer is pressed by the plate 84 when pressing the trigger 16 against one of the contact plates 82b . Depending on the deflection position of the pointer 22, one of the contact lines 82 is connected to the circuit flowing through the permanent magnet 72 as soon as the trigger 16 is depressed.

In the present, schematic representation case, a contact line 82 is assigned to each value of the aperture scale 88 of the exposure value meter in order to be able to describe the mode of operation of the device in a simplified manner. In reality, of course, intermediate positions, i.e. more than just seven contact lines 821 to 82v, 1 - will be provided in order to scan as many of the positions of the pointer 22 as possible and transfer them to the electrical locking system can.

The contact plates 82b are also to be placed so close to one another or, if necessary, to overlap that a contact line 82 is selected in each position of the pointer 22 and assigned to the electrical locking system. In any case, the joints between the contact plates 82b must be so narrow that they are bridged by the thickness of the pointer.

The rotating coil instrument 20 of the exposure value meter that adjusts the pointer 22 is acted upon by the current which is generated by the photocell 18 when the light coming from the object is incident. However, this current is modified according to the respective value of the exposure time set by the time setting ring 28, for example by an adjustable electrical resistor arrangement, which is described in more detail below.

An insulating ring 90 is rotatably mounted around the closure 24 and is coupled to the lock via a detent tongue 92 which can be triggered in the direction of the optical axis and which engages in detents 94 of the time setting ring 28. This latching between the time setting 28 and the ring 90 serves to bring these two rings into different relative positions to one another if one wants to take the film speed into account.

For this purpose, the time setting ring 28 is assigned a sensitivity scale 98 and the ring 90 is assigned a mark 96. In Fig. 1, the detent 92, 94 of reality is shown accordingly. In Figure 3, however, this locking is only indicated schematically on the circumference of the ring 28 and the ring 90 is also shown lying to the side of the closure circumference in order to ensure a greater clarity of this figure.

In reality, the ring 90 as well as the contact arrangement described later is located in the direction of the optical axis behind the timer 28. An electrical resistor 100 is now arranged on the insulating ring 90, which is connected at one end at 102 to an electrically conductive slip ring 104 . The slip ring 104 is concentric to the rings 28 and 90 and is firmly connected to the ring 90.

The slip ring 104 works together with a stationary grinder 106. In contrast, the resistor 100 works alternately with one of the stationary sliders 108 or 110 together, depending on which position the flap 18 a of the photocell 18 assumes. On this flap a switching contact 18c is namely ruled out, which is brought into current-conducting connection either with the line 108a or with the line 110a. In the case shown, for example, the photocell 18 is fully acted upon, that is to say the flap 18a is pivoted upwards.

The current flow from the photocell thus takes place via the contact 18c, the line 108a, the wiper 108, the resistor 100 and the slip ring 104, from here on via the wiper 106 to the core magnetic instrument 20.

However, if the second measuring range of the exposure meter is switched and the flap 18a is closed, the current is connected via the contact 18c, the line 110a, the grinder 110, the resistor 100, the slip ring 104 and the grinder 106 back to the nuclear magnetic instrument 20. The distance between the stationary sliders 108 and 110 is slightly greater than the length of the resistor 100 between its ends 100a and 102.

This ensures that when the time setting ring 28 is adjusted, only one slider rests on the resistor 100, and that a short idle path is interposed during the transition from one slider to the other. The position of the wiper 106 relative to the slip ring 104 is irrelevant with regard to the tapping of the resistor 100. The grinder 106 could therefore be arranged at any point on the circumference of the slip ring 104.

With regard to the adjustment range of the time adjuster 28, however, it is advisable to arrange the grinder 106 approximately in the middle between the loops 108 and 110. The 'grinders 108 and 110 are at the same time so far removed from one another that the intermediate resistor piece on the resistor 100 corresponds to the display increase of the exposure meter when the flap 18a is opened.

The wiper 106 is connected via the line 106a to one side of the rotating coil 20a, while the other side of this rotating coil via the line 18d with the photocell 18 is in electrical connection. The moving coil 20a of the core magnet system moves in a known manner between the magnetic return circuit 20b of the core magnet system 20.

Through the resistor 100 connected to the time setting 28, taking into account the film sensitivity setting, the exposure time selected in each case is regulated in the circuit of the exposure value meter and here, together with the brightness of the subject, causes a corresponding deflection of the exposure value meter pointer 22. The deflection position of this Pointer is scanned when the trigger 16 is depressed, so that the contact line 82 of the locking system corresponding to the respective position is switched to standby.

As a result, after the shutter control ring 40 is triggered and when it returns, the locking pin 64 is activated by the electrical device at the point in time when the shutter control ring 40 has just reached the aperture position corresponding to the exposure value meter display. It goes without saying that additional inhibiting means can also be assigned to the diaphragm control ring 40, for example a inhibiting anchor which engages in an inhibiting toothing of the diaphragm control ring.

This has the effect that small time delays (a few ms) in the electrical locking system, which result, for example, from the short natural oscillation time of the magnet system 72 and the inertia of the pin 64, can be bridged without difficulty. In this way, the sequence of the ring 40 is synchronized with the electrical locking system in such a way that the locking pin 64 locks the diaphragm control ring 40 in the correct diaphragm position indicated by the pointer 22.

In the case shown, the individual mechanisms are designed in such a way that the time scale 30 and the sensitivity scale 98 are provided with a linear scale graduation having the same graduation steps. The aperture setting is also carried out according to a linear law, so that - if this aperture were assigned a scale on the lens shutter - this aperture scale would also have a linear division.

As a result of the linearity of the diaphragm setting, the contact plates 82a are also of the same size and spaced from one another at the same pitch. The contact plate 82a via the individual lines 82 (I to VII) to the subordinate contact plate 82b are, however, differently long and spaced apart from each other at different distances, which results from the known non-linearity of the display of the exposure value meter.

If it brings structural advantages, one could of course bring the pointer 22 to a linearity 'of the display via compensating means, so that then the scale 88 assigned to the pointer 22 does not have a non-linear graduation as shown, but a linear and possibly the same graduation Graduation steps like the other scales could be provided with scale graduation. The control device described can of course also be used in diaphragm or time mechanisms with non-linearity of the setting.

The device described works as follows: When inserting a new film, the respective film sensitivity is taken into account by adjusting the ring 90 to the time setting ring 28 using the mark 96 and scale 98 by the operator. He will then also actuate the quick release lever 12 in the tightening direction and thereby tighten the shutter 24 and bring the diaphragm control ring 40 from its respective position to the full opening according to FIG. Finally, the operator has to adjust the distance by turning the adjusting ring 26.

The operator then selects a time corresponding to the recording to be made, for example a? 4 seconds, as can be seen from FIG. 3, and directs the camera 10 towards the subject in such a way that the incoming light hits the photocell 18. It is assumed here that in this case the flap 18a is open and the slider 108 therefore rests on the resistor 100.

The current generated by the photocell when incident light now causes the pointer 22 to deflect, which for example assumes a position which shows the aperture value 4 on the scale 88. Through the deflection of the pointer 22 along the scale 88, the operator has also been able to convince himself that the electrical control system is operational.

The operator will now press the trigger 16 and first scan the current position of the pointer 22 through the pressure plate 84 and press the same onto the corresponding contact plate 82b and thus set the contact line 8211 corresponding to the aperture value 4 in readiness. The lock 48 for the diaphragm control ring 40 was triggered by the tripping path of the trigger 16 and this ring now begins to expire under the action of its return spring 45.

As soon as during this return movement the wiper 80 connected to the ring 40 loops the contact plate 82a associated with the line 8211. the magnet 72 is counter-excited, the pin 64 drops and locks the diaphragm control ring in the diaphragm position 4 shown by the pointer 22 (Fig. 4).

As already explained above, after the aperture control ring 40 has expired, the trigger 52 is also actuated via its cam 52a by the lever 54, so that the cocked shutter 24 now also begins to expire and its sectors 34 are opened and closed to carry out the exposure.

By appropriately dimensioning the cam 52a on the trigger 52, it is achieved that the locking sectors are only actuated when the diaphragm control ring 40 has completely expired from its tensioned position, even in the case when the smallest diaphragm opening, for example the diaphragm 22 is controlled by the electrical locking device.

Instead of a special shape of the cam 52a one could of course also use other known means for delaying the shutter process for this purpose, for example synchronization inhibitors or the like, as is known per se in camera and shutter construction.

Regarding the setting described above, it should also be mentioned that if the time is selected, it could of course also be found that the pointer 22 does not experience any deflection, i.e. the photocell is supplying too little current (less than the largest aperture corresponding to the largest aperture) due to poor lighting conditions. The time setting ring 28 will then have to be rotated in the direction after longer exposure times until the resistance 100 has become smaller and thus an exposure time that is useful for recording is reached, that is to say is preselected. Here at the pointer 22 will now drive a rash.

If in the other case, for example, due to insufficient brightness of the object being photographed, the pointer 22 also does not deflect when the flap 18a is closed, the operator must open this flap and thus assign the other slider to the resistor 100, so that now when adjusting the time setting ring when at the lighting conditions are possible at all, a deflection of the pointer 22 is reached.

In the opposite direction of rotation of the time setting ring 28, that is to say after short exposure times, this ring is then rotated when the measuring instrument 20 shows a value which is greater than the aperture 22.

In general, however, with normal brightness of the recording scene with the flap open 18a in front of the photo element 18, a brightness range of up to about 500 lux and with the flap closed an area over 500 to 50,000 lux, so that the preselected exposure time always has a corresponding aperture the pointer 22 is displayed and can also be set later by the electrical locking system without any additional adjustment or operation on the camera being necessary.

The operator therefore has to make a preselection by setting the desired exposure time vorzu in relation to the setting of the exposure value acting for the respective recording, so when setting the factors time and aperture, while the actual setting of the aperture via the electrical control described set up automatically. In the opposite way to the above one could also preselect the aperture and bring the time setting member to one of its end positions and then stop it in the corresponding position during the return run through the electrical control system.

Also, one would not necessarily have to bring the diaphragm ring 40 to the full opening when controlling the diaphragm, as described above, but one could bring the diaphragm to the smallest opening or in the closed position and let it be energized from this position to the given value after triggering.

The rule described above, however, is the most expedient design, since you can use such a design with single-lens reflex cameras, for example, in a particularly simple manner, because there aperture and shutter sectors must be brought to the open position for the purpose of an intermediate observation before the actual exposure.

It should be noted that the time setting could also be taken into account by other means than a resistance in the photocell circuit, for example also by means of an iris diaphragm that is switched on in front of the photocell 18 and can be adjusted according to the time setting, i.e. an optical current throttle, as in light control technology is known.

With the arrangement described: a special aperture scale on the shutter of the camera can be omitted because the adjustment of the aperture opening is done automatically by the electrical system. The aperture scale 88 assigned to the exposure meter pointer 22 is only used for control purposes and in the event that the operator wants to take into account a particular focus area when setting the distance.

He can define this focus area by means of a double-sided aperture line marking of a known type assigned to the mark 32, but only if he knows the aperture size that is set on the shutter or is about to be set.

In Fig. 5 to 7 an additional fuse for the electrical control device described above is shown, which is effective when the brightness is too high or too low. Behind the diaphragm control ring 40, a ring 200 is mounted around the closure 24, which, together with the ring 40, is brought into the clamping position by the clamping device already described, that is to say by the clamping ring 44.

In the clamping position, the two rings 40 and 200 are held by the aforementioned locking lug 48 on the lever 54, which now engages in corresponding locking detents on both rings. The ring 200 is loaded by a spring 202, which strives to bring it from the tensioned position counterclockwise to a rest position.

Furthermore, the ring 200 has an inhibiting toothing 204 on its circumference, in which an inhibiting anchor 206 engages so that the movement of the ring 200 is inhibited compared to the movement of the ring 40 after the release, that is to say it takes place more slowly.

The ring 200 also has an inclined control surface 208 on its circumference, which comes into engagement with the shutter release 52 towards the end of its movement and pivots the same in the release direction, i.e. counterclockwise according to FIG. 5 about its pivot point in order to release the shutter 24. A locking lever 210 is rotatably mounted to the side of the ring 200 and is loaded by a spring 212. This spring tries to keep one arm 210a of the lever out of the path of the nose 200a on the ring 200. Another arm 210b of the lever 210, however, protrudes into the path of a control nose 40a of the ring 40.

In a normal setting - if the electrical control responds - the two rings 40 and 200 are released after triggering the lock 48. The ring 40 runs off faster and is stopped in the corresponding diaphragm position by the locking pin 64.

The ring 200 runs slightly more slowly due to the inhibiting device, in such a way that its control cam 208 only effectively actuates the trigger 52 when the control ring 40 has also covered its outermost aperture position, i.e. the normal drainage path, so that the The shutter is only actuated for the purpose of exposure with certainty when the diaphragm has already reached its correct position beforehand (FIG. 6).

If, on the other hand, the prevailing light conditions are such that the deflection of the pointer 22 is too large or too small, so that it cannot respond to any of the contact plates 82b during triggering, the electrical locking system with locking pin 64 does not intervene either Activity. As a result, the diaphragm control ring 40 is passed through from the open position to a rest or stop position without it being stopped in any of the diaphragm positions. In this case, the smallest possible aperture is set or the aperture is closed at all.

A diaphragm size that does not correspond to the time setting and the lighting conditions would be set and an incorrect recording would thus be carried out. In order to avoid this, in such a case, if the deflection of the pointer 22 is too large or too small (in the illustration, aperture> 2.8 or <22) and the ring 40 runs through the control surface 40a of the ring 40 come into engagement with the arm 210b of the locking lever 210 and adjust the same in a clockwise direction so that its arm 210a swings into the path of the nose 200a.

The ring 200, which is running with a delay, that is to say trailing ring 200, is now stopped by the lug 210a before its control surface 208 has actuated the locking lever 52 (FIG. 7). There is therefore no release of the shutter. In this case the camera can be tensioned again after the film transport has been released and the tension ring 40 can be brought back to the tensioned position. Now the operator must bring the electrical control circuit into readiness to speak by appropriately adjusting the time setting ring 28 or the flap 18a and fetch the recording again. So there is no film image lost due to incorrect exposure through the hedging device described.

In addition to the safety device explained, a signal transmitter can also be provided which draws the operator's attention to the fact that the ring 40 has passed through and the lock has not been triggered.

The advantages resulting from the electrical control arrangement described are obvious. First of all, the operator is relieved of unnecessary thought work during the exposure time setting. With this setting he only has to preselect the appropriate exposure time for the subject and press the shutter release, while the other processes then take place automatically. The electrical control or locking device can be carried out in a structurally simple and inexpensive manner and, as indicated schematically, can be accommodated without difficulty even with 35 mm cameras. The current source 76 required to feed the blocking circuit can be installed in the camera in a known manner and without difficulty.
