Two-speed electromechanical control box The present invention relates to a two-speed electromechanical control box, one of which can be slow and has a periodic cycle with alternating direction of rotation, and the other of which can be fast with direction of rotation. continuous rotation this box being associated with an electric motor.
This two-speed electromechanical control box, associated with an electric motor, is characterized in that the control motor transmits its movement, via a torque limiter, to a pulley mounted to rotate on the motor shaft. and capable of actuating an output shaft connected to the user member, either directly when it is dogged by a sliding device on splines:
carried by this output shaft arranged as an extension of the motor shaft, either directly and via a set of belts and return pulleys, when a pulley mounted to rotate on the output shaft and actuated by the aforementioned assembly is clutched by the walkman, man # uvré remotely using a mechanical control synchronized with the electrical control of a motor and its reverser.
This electromechanical control box is particularly advantageous in the case of its use for a washing machine, it enables the entire drive system of the machine to be assembled in a small volume. This unit can be completed with a pump whose movement will be taken on the other output of the motor shaft and whose operation is provided for in the description which follows.
In a particular embodiment of the control box, the return pulleys can be mounted on a rotating shaft in a support slidably mounted on two spring rods fixed to the frame of the box, so as to keep the aforementioned belts always tense.
Still in a particular embodiment of the control box depending on the angular position given to the control button of the electric switch, it is possible, at will, to start or stop the control motor, to switch on or off. the reverser and, by acting remotely on the player, then give the aforementioned output shaft any slow or fast speeds that are desired, in alternating or continuous rotation, or even completely stop this output shaft.
In the particular case of controlling a washing machine, the electric switch can allow four positions corresponding to: the first to bubbling (slow speed with periodic cycle and alternating direction of rotation, printed on the output shaft); the second when the motor and the output shaft are stopped; the third in the Pump position (motor started at continuous speed and engaged with a pump, but output shaft stopped); the fourth to spinning (high speed and continuous direction of rotation, printed on the output shaft).
In the accompanying drawings, there is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention: In this drawing, FIG. 1 is a sectional view of the control box without the remote control device of the player.
Fig. 2 is a partial elevational sectional view through II-II of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a partial view of the remote control of the player of FIG. 1.
Figs. 4 to 7 show the four positions that can be given to the remote control button of the player, which is at the same time the control button for the electric switch. Fig. 8 is a sectional view through VIII-VIII of FIG. 3.
Figs. 9 and 10 are two views at right angles of the remote control of the player of FIG. 1, supplementing fig. 3.
Figs. 11 to 14 represent the four positions that can be given to the player of FIG. 1. The electromechanical gearbox is mounted directly on the control motor A, and takes its rotary movement by means of a torque limiter, which allows soft starts and protects the motor.
The torque limiter here consists of a plate 35 keyed on the shaft 2 of the motor and a grooved pulley 36 forming a flange, on which are riveted two discs of ferrodo or other friction material 37 pressurized against the plate 35 by a cup 38 and springs 39.
The pulley 36 is rotatably mounted on the shaft 2 and is only driven by the friction of the torque limiter. Fixed after this pulley 36 is a part 40 provided with dogs 401 on a face perpendicular to its bore.
The output shaft 12 is mounted in the extension of the motor shaft 2. This output shaft is provided with splines 121 on which slides the slide 13 provided with dogs 131 and 132 on its two faces. Opposite the dogs of this player 13, and opposite the part 40, a ring 41 provided with dogs 411 on one side, is rotatably mounted on the output shaft 12. On the ring 41 a grooved pulley 42 is mounted keyed.
The still free end of the shaft 12 is hand held by a bearing fitted on the frame 43. This frame is provided with a sealed box enclosing the player 13 and its control which operates in a lubricant.
The player 13 is controlled by a chette oven 14 mounted on a shaft 15, one end of which comes out of the box.
Parallel to the axis of the two shafts 2 and 12, and in alignment with the pulleys 36 and 42, two pulleys 45 and 46 are keyed on a shaft 44. The pulley 36 drives the pulley 45 by means of a belt trapezoidal 47 while the pulley 46 drives the pulley 42 via a trapezoidal belt 48.
The shaft 44 is journaled on two bearings 49 mounted on a support 50. This support 50 slides on two rods 51 and 52 fixed on the frame 43. Two springs 53 and 54 mounted on the rods 51 and 52 exert a thrust on the support 50, which makes it possible to keep the belts 47 and 48 always taut.
The operation of this mechanical control system is as follows: Motor A transmits its movement, via the torque limiter, to pulley 36.
The rapid speed on the output shaft 12 is obtained when the sliding gear 13 is clutched using the dogs 132 and 401 on the pulley 36 integral with the part 40.
The slow speed on the output shaft 12 is obtained when the sliding gear 13 is clutched by means of the dogs 131 and 411 on the ring 41 integral with the pulley 42. The motor A, instead of directly actuating the 'output shaft 12, then actuates the latter via the pulley 36, the belt 47, the pulley 45, the shaft 44, the pulley 46, the belt 48 and the pulley 42 integral of the ring 41 rotatably mounted on the output shaft 12.
The operation of the fork 14 of the player 13 is obtained by means of a mechanical control synchronized with the electrical control of the motor A and of its inverter (not shown). This control can be done remotely by actuating a control button 16, keyed on the axis 17 of an electric switch 18. This axis opens out on either side of this switch, and, opposite the control button. command 16, it is keyed in a helical ramp 19.
The switch 18 has four positions marked by the marks B, C, D, E of a fixed circle in front of which the needle 161 of the button 16 can move (fig. 4 to 7).
Each change in position of switch 18 causes a nut 20 to rise or fall along the helical ramp 19. This nut 20 has (fig. 8) two studs 21 and 22 in which two levers 23 and 23 are centered. 24 which have as a fixed point an axis 25. The upward and downward movement of the nut 20 is transmitted from the end of these levers to an axis 26 which serves as an attachment to a flexible cable 27, sliding in a sheath 271.
This cable 27 is connected (fig. 9 and 10) to a lever 28. It is held in tension by a spring 29. This lever 28 is loose on its support 30. It is made integral with the lever 31 of the fork 14 by the 'via a spring 32.
This combination prevents the control from being out of adjustment, in the event that the dogs, when picking up rapid speed, come face to face. It is therefore permissible for the lever 28 to occupy the position which, via the cable 27, the system has transmitted to it. The lever 31 will take its place as soon as it meets the hollow of a dog clutch. For slow speed, the spring 29 fulfills this function. The bracket 33 serves as an attachment to this spring and maintains the adjustment screw 34 of the flexible control 27.
The description of this mechanical unit control system should not be taken as limiting. It is very well possible to adapt an electromagnet which would be electrically connected to the switch and controlled by the latter. One of the positions of the dog clutch 13 would then be obtained by pulling the spring 29, and the other position by supplying current to this electromagnet which, fixed after the lever 28, would make it possible to obtain the other position. This solution is to be used for the adaptation of this electromechanical unit to an automatic washing machine.
As we have seen, switch 18 allows four positions. In sector E-B, switch button 16 is blocked. The command can only be done from B to E through C and D, or from E to B through the same circuit. On the switch 18 arrive the current supply wires, the wires of the motor and the wires of the electric inverter (not shown).
If we consider for example the application of the electromechanical gearbox to a washing machine, the operation is as follows. Motor A transmits its movement to the mechanical gearbox via the aforementioned torque limiter.
The fast and slow speeds are obtained as indicated above.
If the button 16 of the switch 18 is actuated, to bring it successively into its four positions of FIGS. 4 to 7, the following is obtained. In the position of FIGS. 4 and 11, which is the slow speed, or Splash position, the nut 20 of the helical ramp 19 is at the bottom of its stroke. Cable 27 is slack. The player 13 is clamped on the ring 41. The correct connection of the wires to the switch 18 enables the electric inverter and the motor to be supplied with current. The electric inverter requires the motor to operate determined.
By way of non-limiting example, the periodic cycle can be 9 seconds of rotation in one direction, followed by 3 seconds of stopping, then 9 seconds of rotation in the other direction and 3 seconds of stopping without time limit.
In the position of fig. 5 and 12, or off position, the helical ramp 19 has moved 90o. This movement allowed the crabs 131-13 of the player 13 to free themselves. The current is cut off on the motor and on the inverter.
In the position of fig. 6 and 13, or the Pump position, the helical ramp 19 has made a new movement of 900. For this movement, the sliding gear 13 is still not dogged. Current only flows to the motor. The mechanism rotates, but does not transmit movement to the output shaft 12.
This position is assigned to the emptying, because the motor is engaged on the pump and the maximum flow rate of the pump can only be obtained for a continuous rotational movement.
In the position of fig. 7 and 14, or Spin position, at high speed, ramp 19 has moved 90 (). Nut 20 is at the top of its travel. The cable 27 is stretched to the maximum. The player 13 is clutched on the part 40. The current arrives only on the motor; the electric inverter is off.
