Induction device with an E core Induction devices with a laminated, E-shaped core made from E-shaped sheets of soft magnetic material and a coil lying around the center leg of the core are known. It is z.
B. to an Indukti: onsmessspule. The body formed from the core and coil: is usually surrounded by a hollow steel body of revolution (jacket), which is approximately coaxial to the coil axis, in particular a circular cylindrical hollow cylinder on the inside and outside, with two between the body of revolution and the two outer legs of the core to reduce eddy current losses Spacers are provided, which consist of insulating material.
If the E core with the coil is housed in a steel housing, the coil quality deteriorates due to eddy currents. This is particularly the case at high frequencies. By placing it in a hollow body of revolution - such an accommodation is often desired - the coil quality deteriorates for the above-mentioned reason. On the other hand, the induction device is enlarged in its radial dimensions by this jacket or this housing, which is often, for. B. for installation reasons, is not desirable.
To eliminate these disadvantages, according to the present invention, an induction device with an E core made of E-shaped sheets and a coil lying around the center leg of the core was created, in which the outer legs of the E sheets on both sides of the sheet-parallel center plane around the coil circumference are bent.
The body formed from the core and coil can thereby be given an essentially cylindrical shape. The diameter of this cylindrical body came to be smaller than the outer dimension of the known E-cores mentioned at the beginning with the same coil dimensions. Thus, a space-saving device can be obtained.
The drawing shows a known induction device in longitudinal section II-II (FIG. 1), viewed from direction III (FIG. 2) and viewed from direction IV (FIG. 3) and an embodiment of the device according to the invention in view one of the direction IV corresponding direction shown (Fig. 4).
In FIGS. 1 to 3, 10 is an E-core consisting of E-shaped sheets, 11 is a coil, 12 and 13 are two spacers made of insulating material, 14 is a hollow cylindrical steel jacket and 24 is the center leg; of the E core.
In FIG. 4, within a likewise hollow-cylindrical steel jacket 15, which has a smaller inner diameter and no outer diameter than the jacket 14, an E core 16, in which the outer legs 17 Abis 20 of the E sheets on both sides of the sheet-parallel central plane 21 around the circumference 22 of the coil are bent. There are no spacers between the core 16 and the jacket 15. The middle limb of the E-core around which the coil 23 lies is not visible.
The essentially circular-cylindrical body can be surrounded by a hollow body of revolution lying approximately coaxially on the coil, in particular a circular-cylindrical hollow cylinder on the inside and outside. These jackets can also have other external shapes, e.g. B. is adapted to the shape of the part receiving the induction device.
The body of revolution can also be closed off at the end by a base or cover; so that the core and coil are in one pot. This induction device of small size can, for. B. for displacement measurements, e.g.
B. Displacements of a machine shaft in relation to the housing surrounding the shaft, or vibration

measurements on machines, especially turbo machines, are used. Furthermore can. this facility in machine parts, where tightness is important, z.
B. in stuffing box rings, the small outer circumference of the device is again of great benefit, since devices with large outer circumference are difficult to use there due to lack of space.
Between the two bodies, that is, between the body of revolution and the body consisting of the E core and coil, there is preferably a thin insulation, that is to say no spacers, since none is generally necessary.
It has been shown that in comparison to the known induction devices mentioned with and even without a steel jacket, an induction device designed according to the invention with a steel jacket and without spacers has the same coil quality. The coil quality does not change if, instead of steel as the rotational body material, other substances, e.g. B. brass or aluminum can be used.
