Sealing piece for a container closure cap
The present invention relates to a sealing part for a closure cap of a container.
Sealing pieces of this type have already been produced, consisting of a convex cup of suitable diameter placed in the bottom of the capsule, with its convexity facing outwards.
In general, such parts are made of a molded plastic material, such as polyethylene.
However, it has been observed that these sealing parts have the drawback of being crushed at the time of screwing by the pressure exerted by the neck of the bottle and that consequently, if a slight opening of the cap accidentally occurs, by For example, as a result of vibrations, the plugging ceases to be hermetic, the sealing part not being endowed with sufficient elasticity to resume its original shape. On the other hand, after several successive openings and closings, there is also, for the same reasons, a lack of sealing in the event of slightly incomplete plugging of the bottle.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks, and its object is a sealing part characterized in that it is provided with means which, when they are in contact with the bottom of the capsule, tend to give the cup a convex shape.
In a preferred embodiment of the object of the invention, said means consist of pins implanted obliquely outwardly on the face of the cup facing the bottom of the capsule. These pins, during the deformation of the cup, take more and more oblique positions and naturally tend, when the capsule no longer presses to resume their original position, which also brings the sealing part back to its original shape.
According to a variant, said means are constituted by a spring disposed axially on the face of the cup coming opposite the bottom of the capsule.
According to a variant, and preferably used in combination with the previous ones, the sealing piece has teeth arranged radially on the outer periphery of the cup and intended to come into contact with the side wall of the capsule.
Preferably, the pins, springs, teeth or equivalent members are molded with the sealing part.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the sealing part.
Fig. 2 shows a capsule equipped with the part according to FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows the same cap ensuring the closure of a bottle.
The FIG. 4 shows, in section, a capsule equipped with a second embodiment of the sealing part.
The sealing part shown in fig. 1 is formed by a cup 1, convex downward according to the figure, limited by a cylindrical wall 2.
In the concave part of the cup are inaplanted four pins 3, slightly oblique with respect to the axis of symmetry of the cup. On the other hand, on the periphery of the cylindrical wall 2 there are a certain number of teeth 4 arranged radially.
Fig. 2 shows part 1 mounted in a capsule 5 of conventional type. It can be seen that the pins 3 come into contact with the bottom 6 of the capsule.
In fig. 3, the cap 5 is shown screwed onto the neck 7 of a bottle 8. The edge of the neck has deformed the part 1, which has caused the pins 3 to take a more oblique position as shown in 3 '. Likewise, the teeth 4 are elastically compressed against the cylindrical wall of the capsule. It is understood that if there is a slight unscrewing of the capsule or if, subsequently, the capsule is screwed incompletely, the pins 3 and the teeth 4 resuming their original position tend to restore the part 1 to its original convex shape, and this part thus ensures, in all circumstances, a hermetic closure.
In fig. 4, we see a capsule 5 identical to the previous one, in which is mounted a part 9, of the same shape as the part 1 but on the concave wall of which is molded a helical spring 10 resting on the bottom 6 of the capsule, the spring 10 playing a role equivalent to that of the pins 3 of the sealing part described above.
