Description

The present invention relates to a shoring beam intended for use on construction sites and the like, in particular for supporting formwork or similar elements,

and it aims to allow the realization of an exten sible beam of economic construction and which is moreover capable of spreading particularly well to the various desiderata of practice.

The beam according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises two telescopic elements constituted by sections with a C-shaped cross section, suitable for being blocked at any desired extension position.

According to a preferred embodiment of the beam, the two sections are engaged tealiscopically so that the open side of one is turned away from that of the other, which side is additionally reinforced. by oblique shrouds, uprights or closing plates added by welding.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the beam forming the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a view from the side.

  Fig. 2 is a cross-section on a large scale, along II-II of FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1, but corresponding to a variant.

Fig. 4 schematically shows the assembly of a series of beams according to FIG. 1.

The shoring beam shown in fig. 1 and 2 is produced by the telescopic assembly of two metal elements 1 and 2. Each of these two elements consists of a section with a C-shaped cross section, the open side of this profile being inverted by a section. to the other, as clearly shown in fig. 2.

This open side is reinforced by stays 3, 4 respectively (fig. 1), brought together by welding against the outer edges facing each of the two sections 1 and 2.

One of the ends of the outer element 1 comprises on its open side an end plate 5, while the opposite end is provided with a plate 6 cut obliquely and a longitudinal support shoe 7.

Element 2 is arranged in the same way: its end engaged in element 1 carries a side plate similar to plate 5 of the latter, while on its free end are attached by welding a plate 8 cut obliquely and a support shoe referenced 9.

On the lower wall of the outer element 1 are welded guides or dice 10 inside each of which is mounted vertically sliding a locking finger 11, of cylindrical shape with two diameters (Fig. 2).

The tail of this finger 14 passes through the lower wall of the element 1, perforated for this purpose, while the head opens into a hole 10a formed in the thimble 10, perpendicular to the axis of said finger.

This bore 10a is reinforced so as to receive a locking key 12 of the usual type, which is attached to the beam by a chain 13.

It is understood that when the total development of the elements 1 and 2 of the beam has been suitably adjusted, it suffices to force the keys 12 into the corresponding guides or dice 10 to push back the fingers 11 whose tail bears against a longitudinal sole 14,

secured by welding to the lower wall of the interior element 2. The locking of the two elements can thus be ensured in a very simple and practical manner. The number of guides or locking dice 10 varies according to the length of elements 1 and 2 of the beam.

It will be understood, however, that one can imagine other means of locking these elements, for example by means of bolts. Likewise, the stays 3 and 4 of the sections can be replaced by vertical uprights 30, respectively 40, as shown by way of example in FIG. 3, or even by solid or perforated longitudinal sheets.

In all cases, a light and robust beam is obtained, of economical manufacture. The shape of these beams makes it possible to assemble them in succession when the two lateral support points provided to support them are separated from each other by a distance greater than the maximum development of the two telescopic elements 1 and 2 of

each of them. It is in fact understood, as the diagram matically shown in FIG. 4, that the interior element 2 of a beam can be introduced by its free end into the exterior element 1 of the immediately adjacent beam, so as to constitute an assembly of any desired length; the support of this assembly can be ensured by means of adjustable struts 15, suitably spaced to avoid the formation of an exaggerated arrow.
