Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Gas-heated liquid heater The invention relates to a gas-heated liquid heater with a heat exchanger arranged above a burner at the upper end of a shaft-shaped combustion chamber, which contains a flow pipe through which the liquid to be heated flows and which is acted upon horizontally by an ascending flow of hot gas, the pipe wall is provided with a thickening in cross section,

which is only provided on the lower part of the pipe against which the heating gases flow, and at most in an area up to 45 on both sides of the vertical pipe center plane, measured from the pipe center point in relation to the external dimensions.

It has been found that boiling noises easily occur in the flow tube of the heat exchanger, which result from local overheating of the underside of the tube.

This disadvantage is avoided according to the invention in that the thickening consists of a rib directed towards the inside of the pipe. With this design it is achieved with little effort that the high heat present on the underside of the pipe is conducted as quickly as possible into the pipe core in every cross section of the pipe. A liquid pipe is known in which ribs are provided which are distributed over the circumference and directed outwards and inwards.

However, the disadvantage here is the considerable cost of materials.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a gas-heated liquid heater, FIG. 2 shows, on a larger scale, a cross section through an embodiment of a pipe. According to FIG. 1, the shaft-like combustion chamber 10 of a liquid heater, e.g.

   B. water heater, provided in a known manner at its upper end with a heat exchanger 11, which is penetrated several times by a horizontal flow tube 12 fitted with fins. This flow pipe is designed as a pipe coil 12 ′ before it enters the heat exchanger 11 and as a downpipe 12 ″ after it exits the heat exchanger 11 and is soldered to the combustion chamber 10.

A gas burner 13, to which the gas flows through a valve housing 14, is arranged below the combustion chamber 10.

The hot heating gases produced during the combustion rise upwards in the combustion chamber 10 and, in the process, already transfer a small part of the heat to the water in the coil 12 'wound around the combustion chamber 10. The greater part of the heat, however, is transferred to the water in the pipe 12 in the heat exchanger 11. The hot water then flows through the downpipe 12 ″ to the tap.

In order to avoid boiling noises, the flow pipe 12 is thickened at the lower part against which the heating gases flow, the pipe wall being in a cross section up to at most.

45 is reinforced on both sides of the vertical pipe center plane a-a, starting from the lower vertex 15 and measured from the pipe center point 16 related to the external dimensions, the thickening consisting of a rib 19 directed towards the inside of the pipe.

The invention is not only limited to oval tubes, but is also provided for tubes with a circular or angular cross section.
