Brake block for rail vehicles The invention relates to a pure block for rail vehicles, whose sole consisting of a sheet steel back with at least one outwardly directed bead and a plastic pressed body connected to the sheet steel back as a friction lining is secured by a wedge with the shoe connected is.
In known brake pads of this type, the curved sheet steel back is provided with wedge cams and guide cams welded to it on its outer side of the curvature, and anchors welded onto its inner side. This type of formation of a pulp block for the rail vehicles is not only associated with relatively high production costs, but also with the essential disadvantage that the sheet steel arm carrying the plastic press body can usually only be used once.
The anchors located on the inside of the sheet steel back who are often attacked after the wear and tear of the plastic compact sitting on them. In addition, the inwardly protruding anchors contribute considerably to filling the space available for the sheet steel back and the plastic press body, so that a considerable part of the space is lost for the wear and tear of the covering Type of design of a brake pad is not yet the largest possible,
Service life is achieved.
The object of the invention is to design a brake pad for Schlenen vehicles in such a way that its service life is increased and its sheet steel back can be used for repeated uses.
The invention consists in that an exchangeable metal wedge cam is pressed into the bead penetrated by the wedge and has a transverse hole for the wedge. So it is the bead used at the same time to Be fastening the sheet steel back to the brake shoe. Another advantage of the brake pad according to the invention over the known is that the production costs for a sheet steel back with beads are significantly lower.
The metal wedge cam is expediently made of gray cast iron. Should the cam be worn at its end facing the center of curvature of the sheet steel back when the sole is worn, a new cam only needs to be introduced into the cam bead when a new covering is applied. The exchangeability is also an advantage with regard to the wear on the convex friction surface in the wedge passage.
Furthermore, pairs of guide beads can extend parallel to one another in the longitudinal direction of the sheet steel back at both ends of the sheet steel back, the spacing of which corresponds to the width of the steel wedge and whose cavity is filled with the material of the plastic compact.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely, FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the sole of the brake pads along the line 1-1 of FIG. 2, FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the sole along the line II-II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the sheet steel back of the sole, and FIG. 4 shows a section through the Sole according to the line IV-IV of Fig. 1 on a larger scale.
The sheet steel back 2 connected to the plastic press body 1 serving as a friction lining is provided approximately in its center with a cam bead 4 adapted to the external dimensions of a metal wedge cam 3 . The metal wedge cam 3 has an approximately trapezoidal cross section. The bending edges 5 of the cam bead 4 extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sheet steel back 2.
The metal wedge cam 3 , which is preferably made of gray cast iron, has a transverse hole 6 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the sheet steel back 2 and serves to receive the wedge with a cross hole on its top Provided a spherical friction surface, (Fig. 1). With the transverse hole 6 , cutouts 7 in the steep flanks of the cam bead 4 coincide.
The end 8 of the metal wedge cam 3 facing the center of curvature of the sheet steel back 2 protrudes over the sheet steel back 2. The two edges of the metal wedge cam 3 that run parallel to the axis of the transverse hole 6 and face the plastic press body 1 have approximately rectangular recesses 9 </ B> provided (Fig. 2).
In this way, the contact surface between metal wedge cams 3 and plastic press body 1 and thus the adhesion and retention between these two parts of the brake pad are increased. To improve the adhesion between the plastic press body 1 and the sheet steel back 2, the guide beads 10 provided at the two ends of the sheet steel back, running in the longitudinal direction and extending in pairs parallel to one another, contribute,
the cavity of which when the covering is applied to the sheet steel back is filled with the material of the plastic compact 1 (FIG. 4). The inner distance of each pair of guide beads 10 corresponds, preferably, to the width of the steel wedge used for fastening the sheet steel back 2 to the brake shoe.
