Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Electronic wristwatch We already know torsion or bending oscillators consisting of a spring having a section of various shapes, for example rectangular, V or cross and embedded at one end in the plate of the movement while the other carries an oscillating arm, cooperating with an electronic maintenance device. These oscillators have generally been fitted in large volume parts and some of them have already been fitted in wristwatches.

Thus we have already had the idea of placing a bending spring in the plane of a wristwatch, one of the ends of this spring being fixed to the periphery of the plate while the another carries the arm which oscillates horizontally in the plane of said watch.

The various executions carried out up to now have not, however, given complete satisfaction as regards the rational arrangement and in a very small volume of the various elements of the watch.

The object of the present invention is precisely a wristwatch having a torsion oscillator, the construction and arrangement of which in the watch have particularly advantageous advantages from the point of view of the space used.

This wristwatch is fitted with an oscillator comprising a torsion spring arranged in the plane of the movement and one end of which is embedded in the periphery of the plate while the other is fixed in the central part of an arm whose two ends cooperate with electromagnetic maintenance devices. This wristwatch is characterized by the fact that said arm is arranged in the middle zone of the watch, that it oscillates around the axis of said spring in a plane perpendicular to that of the watch and that it cooperates with the organs of the electromagnetic device also placed at the periphery of the movement.

The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention. FIG. 1 is a schematic plan view thereof, and FIG. 2 represents a diagram of the electronic device.

In the drawing, 1 represents the plate of a wristwatch at the periphery of which is mounted a support 2 in which is embedded, via a screw 3, a torsion spring 4. This spring is arranged parallel to the plane of this movement and its section is chosen so as to allow it a relatively easy torsion combined with good resistance to bending; for this purpose this section could for example be cruciform.

The other end of the spring is embedded in the middle part of an arm 5, arranged perpendicular to this spring and oscillating in a plane perpendicular to the plane of movement. The two ends of the arm have heads 6 and 7 each carrying a magnetic device cooperating with the sensor coils 8 respectively drive 9 of the maintenance device shown in FIG. 2. This is a conventional device having a transistor 10.

The gear train is driven by means of a pawl 11 cooperating with the wheel 12 of a worm 13 driving, by means of a reduction gear 14, 15 and 16, the center wheel 17 The latter drives, as usual, a cannon wheel, not shown, by means of a timer, also not shown.

This arrangement has the advantage of a rational use of the available space and per-
