Description
Machine for milling grooves in concrete slabs The present invention relates to a machine for milling grooves in concrete slabs, in particular for joints, comprising a carriage with at least one front wheel which can be oriented in all directions, and carrying a strawberry.
This machine is characterized by the fact that it comprises a guide bridge extending transversely on the slab with respect to the direction of travel of the carriage and having, on the one hand, gaets with a horizontal axis resting on the slab and the support, and on the other hand rollers with a vertical axis bearing on the lateral faces of the slab in order to prevent it from moving transversely, the carriage being articulated on the bridge so that it pushes the latter in front of him while being guided by him during his movement.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section through part of a concrete slab on which the machine is placed, schematically shown, and FIG. 2 is a plan view.
The concrete slab shown is designated by 1. The machine, designated by 2, is intended to practice longitudinally in the slab a groove 3 intended for example to form a seal.
This machine comprises a carriage 4 with two rear wheels 5 and a front wheel 6, directing, adjustable in all directions. For this purpose, the yoke of the roller 6 is articulated on the carriage 4 about a vertical axis 7. A cutter 8 is disposed laterally with respect to the carriage 4. It is driven by a motor 9, placed on the carriage, which has been shown very schematically. This motor also drives the wheels 5, so as to move the carriage forward.
The carriage is guided by a transverse bridge 10 formed by a metal structure. This structure comprises two end parts 10a and 10b joined by an intermediate part 11. The latter is fixed to parts 10a and 10b, respectively, by a removable assembly, with bolts, not shown, which makes it possible to replace part 11 by another part of greater or less length, and thus to adapt the length of the bridge to the width of the slab.
This bridge 10 carries three pairs of rollers 12, with a horizontal axis, resting on the slab 1 and rolling on it. It also carries two pairs of rollers 13, with a vertical axis, resting on the lateral faces 14 of the slab and thus ensuring its transverse guidance. The rollers 13 located on the left in the drawing are slidably mounted on supports 15, integral with the structure 10a, and are recalled by coil springs 16 which keep them applied against the left side face 14 of the slab 1 .
Thus, the carriage 4, which is articulated at 17 on the structure 10b of the bridge 10, is located at a constant distance from the right edge of the slab; he is guided by the bridge and pushes it in front of him as he goes forward.
