Description
Method for producing honeycomb cores The invention relates to a method for producing honeycomb cores by welding and then stretching the welded laminated cores.
A method for producing honeycomb cores is known in which pre-beaded sheet metal strips or corrugated sheet metal strips are joined together to form honeycomb cores by spot welding with welding tongs. The height of the honeycomb core and the distance between the weld seams is limited by the size of the welding gun.
In a further known method of this type, strips of corrugated iron are connected to honeycomb core panels by roller seam step welding using support rails. Each layer is welded on individually.
The two aforementioned methods for producing honeycomb cores have the disadvantage that either the honeycomb height and the distance between the weld seams are limited by the size of the welding tongs or that the honeycomb strips have to be welded on individually.
The invention is based on the object of creating a method by means of which it is possible to produce honeycomb cores at any height, to selectively define the distance between the weld seams and to weld several sheet metal layers at the same time.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that strips made of a material with good thermal and electrical conductivity are inserted between the sheets provided for forming the honeycomb cores at least approximated in the welding direction between the electrodes before the start of the welding process in the welded gaps arranged according to one weld seam.
In one embodiment, the inventive method will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Shown is a section through a laminated core where a seam sequence has already been welded. The sheets are labeled 1. They lie on top of each other. In the welding gaps, strips of material 2 are placed under the upper electrode between the metal sheets 1 in such a way that each weld seam 3 is followed by a welding gap filled with a strip 2. As Mate rialstrips 2 are those made of a thermally and electrically highly conductive material such. B. copper, seen before.
The process is carried out as follows: The metal sheets, which have been degreased and pickled as far as possible, are laid one on top of the other in the appropriate number of layers and the strips 2 are inserted at the welding gaps to be provided. The welding is possible with one or more pairs of rollers at the same time, please include. After the first seam sequence has been welded, the corresponding strips 2 are pulled out in order to prevent these strips 2 from smearing and possibly sticking to the metal sheets 1. The electrodes are shifted laterally and the next sequence of seams is welded, and after the welding process has ended, the relevant strips 2 are removed again.
The processes are repeated depending on the width of the sheet stacks and the resulting number of seams to be welded. The welded laminated core is then cut into strips of the desired width perpendicular to the individual seams. The honeycomb cores are created by stretching the welded sheet metal stacks accordingly.
The resulting honeycomb cores can be joined together to form honeycomb core panels of any size by welding them together with the help of spot welding tongs.
