Ammunition body The invention relates to an ammunition body with an explosive charge and an active filling tailored to the intended use of the ammunition body.
As active fillings come z. B. metal particles into consideration (for fragmentation-effective ammunition), also incendiary substances (for incendiary grenades), smoke-generating substances (for smoke grenades) and the like.
In particular in the case of ammunition bodies with an approximately egg-shaped or teardrop-shaped housing jacket, the introduction of the active filling causes certain difficulties, especially if it is to be separated from the explosive charge by partitions.
Various complicated arrangements of partition walls have already been proposed, which are intended to enable the active filling and explosive charge to be more conveniently introduced and arranged in the interior of the ammunition body.
An arrangement of the active filling, which is simplified compared to the known constructions and separated from the explosive charge, is achieved according to the invention by a double-walled inner container which is surrounded by the casing of the ammunition body.
The manufacture of an ammunition body of the type according to the invention proceeds in such a way that the active filling is first filled into the space between the outer wall and the inner wall of the double-walled inner container and only then is the actual casing of the ammunition body applied to the inner container with the active filling.
In particular, when a high-polymer material is provided for the housing jacket, the manufacture of the ammunition body according to the invention becomes very simple; because you can insert the double-walled inner container filled with the active filling into the production mold for the housing jacket as the core and mold the high-polymer material of the housing jacket directly onto the inner container.
The use of high-polymer materials for the casing shell is also advantageous because only a small portion of the energy of the explosive is required to break it down when the explosive is detonated, and the much larger portion is available for the actual effect of the ammunition body.
In view of this, it is expedient to also manufacture the walls of the double-walled inner container from a high-polymer material.
Highly polymeric materials that can be described as impact-resistant (impact strength at> 50 cmkg / cm2), preferably high-impact-resistant (impact strength at> 100 cmkg / cm2) are particularly suitable for the actual housing jacket.
At least the outer wall of the inner container should be sufficiently dimensionally stable with regard to the filling process and with regard to the use of the inner container as a core for the molding of the housing jacket, which applies to such high-polymer materials whose modulus of elasticity is greater than 10 kg / mm2. Particularly suitable, however, are those high-polymer materials whose modulus of elasticity is greater than 100 kg / mm2, preferably greater than 300 kg / mm2.
The walls of the inner container can consist of a brittle or impact-resistant high polymer material. An impact-resistant material can also be used for the outer wall and a brittle high-polymer material for the inner wall.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing by means of an exemplary embodiment, without being restricted thereto.
In the drawing, a hand grenade body is shown in longitudinal section.
The hand grenade shown in the drawing has a housing jacket 1 made of polyethylene. The housing jacket 1 encloses a double-walled inner container, which consists of an outer wall 2 and an inner wall 3 and a cover 4. The outer wall 2, the inner wall 3 and the lid of the double-walled container are made of polystyrene. In the space between the outer wall 2 and the inner wall 3 of the double-walled inner container, metal particles 5 in the form of square iron are loosely filled as an active filling. Between the cover 4 and the filling of the metal particles 5 is a ring pad 6 made of soft elastic material, for. B. made of soft rubber or foam, arranged.
The inner wall 3 of the double-walled container has a cylindrical extension 7 protruding into the opening for the igniter body (not shown).
Furthermore, the inner wall 3 of the inner container is provided at the bottom with a downwardly directed cam 8, which engages in a recess of a pin 9 protruding from the bottom of the outer wall 2, whereby the outer wall 2 is kept at a distance from the inner wall 3 of the double-walled inner container.
The production of the individual parts of the body of the hand grenade shown can proceed in the following way: The inner wall 3 and the outer wall 2 of the inner container are each made in two parts by injection molding. The upper and lower parts are connected to one another by gluing. The inner wall 3 is then introduced into the cavity enclosed by the outer wall 2 and the space between the inner wall 3 and the outer wall 2 is filled with the metal particles 5. Then the ring pad 6 is inserted into this space and the cover 4 is glued on.
The inner container finished in this way is now inserted as a core into an injection mold and encapsulated with the material of the housing jacket 1.
The Sprenb ladu.ng, for example nitropenta, is filled into the cavity remaining within the inner wall 3 of the inner container. Finally, the detonator head with the attached detonator cap and the delay set is screwed onto the opening of the hand grenade.
In the context of the invention, numerous structural, material, manufacturing and application variants are possible compared to the exemplary embodiment described.
For example, the geometric similarity of the outer wall 2 and inner wall 3 of the double-walled inner container shown in the exemplary embodiment is not an absolutely necessary feature. Furthermore, the spacing between outer wall 2 and inner wall 3 can also be achieved differently than shown.
As materials for the housing jacket, instead of polyethylene, other, preferably impact-resistant materials, e.g. Use e.g. polyamide, impact-resistant polystyrene.
In addition to polystyrene, various other materials are also suitable for the walls and the lid of the inner container. You can also make the outer wall 2 and the inner wall 3 from different materials, for. B. the outer wall 2 made of an impact-resistant, but preferably relatively dimensionally stable plastic (hard polyvinyl chloride, impact-resistant polystyrene), but the inner wall of a brittle plastic (ordinary polystyrene, polymethacrylic acid methyl ester).
The described manufacturing method of the ammunition body can also be varied in several ways. So you can not only glue the walls of the inner container made in two parts, but also connect them to one another in other ways, e.g. B. welded (which is possible when using thermoplastics). The walls of the inner container can also be made in one piece. Instead of the injection molding process mentioned for the production of the walls of the inner container and the molding of the housing jacket, other suitable molding processes can also be used.
The invention can be used not only for hand grenades, but also for other ammunition bodies, preferably with an egg or drop shape.
