Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung der genannten Vorrichtung,

Device for controlling the supply of bulk material
The present invention relates to a device for controlling the supply of bulk material to a container arranged on a weighing apparatus with a stationary cavity which can be connected to a compressed air source of constant pressure and has at least one opening which is directed in such a way that one entering the cavity Air jet hits an organ of the weighing apparatus that is moving proportionally to the load during at least part of its movement, so that, depending on the position of this organ, a dynamic pressure arises in the said cavity, which dynamic pressure is used to control a feed device that feeds the material at a predetermined value of the dynamic pressure interrupts.
According to the invention, this device is characterized by adjustment means, which serve at least partially as load-balancing means to restore the disturbance of an equilibrium position between the cavity and the organ caused by a weight, which adjustment means consist of a closed, a liquid-containing bellows-like container, one of which Part moves when the pressure in the container varies, so that when the pressure increases, this container acts on the load-balancing means in the sense of restoring the equilibrium position, through a connection between the said cavity and this container, so that every pressure variation in this cavity is a corresponding variation caused in the container in such a way that the pressure in the container and in the cavity remain in a fixed ratio and that the readjustment stops,
when the force generated by the container movement compensates for the weight mentioned, and locking means controlled by the dynamic pressure, which then lock the setting means so that no further setting takes place when the weight is changed again.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the accompanying drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the device mentioned,
FIGS. 2a and 2b show parts of FIG. 1 on a larger scale.
The balance beam 1 of the system is pivotably mounted on a cutting edge 2. A spring 3, the upper end of which is attached to a lever 4, serves as a load-balancing means. This lever 4 is pivotably mounted on a shaft 5, its free end is supported on a bellows 6 filled with oil. A shell 7 for a weight W is provided on which the spring 3 engages. This weight W has the balance lever 1 is on the side of the cutting edge 2, a predetermined mass. In addition to this shell 7 is a holder 8, which corresponds to the actual load shell, for a container, for. B. a sack for the bulk material to be weighed, which enters this container via a supply valve 9.
This supply valve 9 consists of a semicircular membrane 10 which is attached to an annular pipe part 11, so that a chamber 12 connected to a compressed air line is created between the membrane 10 and the wall of the pipe part 11. The supply of material can thus initially be reduced by expanding the membrane 10 and, if desired, completely interrupted.
At the other end of the balance beam 1, a pneumatic scanning and display device 13 is provided, which is described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2a, 2b. FIG. 2a shows a side view of this device 13 and FIG. 2b shows a section along the line XX in FIG. 2a.
At the left end (FIG. 1) of the balance beam 1, a flat metal strip 14 is fastened upright, which extends through a slot 16 of a stationary, metallic block 15. In this block 15, a bore 17, 18 is provided on each side of the slot 16. These bores 17, 18 are arranged coaxially and are connected to a common compressed air line so that the compressed air flow emerging from them is directed in the direction of the slot 16.
The pivoting movement of the balance beam 1 is limited by stops, not shown. However, these are arranged in such a way that the metal strip 14 can completely clear the bore 17, 18. However, it can also extend entirely between these bores 17, 18. The loading position is reached with each weighing when the back pressure caused by the metal strip in both bores 17, 18 has reached a predetermined value. The mentioned stops are expediently arranged in such a way that the pivoting movement corresponds to a 10-20 increase in the bulk material to be weighed.
For example, the metal strip 14 can have a thickness of 0.254 mm and the slot 16 a width of 0.305 mm. Each bore 17, 18 can have a diameter of Q101 mm.
The base of the bellows 6 is arranged on a stationary part, not shown, of the device. This bellows 6 is connected to an oil container 20 via a valve B. A pneumatic cylinder 22 is arranged under the weight W, the piston rod of which lifts the weight W from its shell 7 in its upper end position. This piston rod carries a lateral projection 23 which is used to actuate two valves F, G which, when they are in contact with the projection 23, are excited.
Valves A, B, C, D, E, F and G are normal three-way valves, valves N and V are 1: 1 relay valves, P1, P2 are precision valves, whereby P1 is for pressures above 1.05 kg! cm2 and P2 reacts for pressures below 1.12 kg / cm2. In addition, three compressed air supply lines are provided, namely line L1 for pressures between 5.6 and 7 kg / cm2, line L2 for a pressure of 1.75 kg / cm2 and line L3 for a pressure of 2.1 kg / cm2. The line L1 is used under control of the valve V to actuate the valve 9. The line L3 feeds the display and measuring device 13 via the throttle Rn.
The dynamic pressure in this device 13 is minimal when the metal strip 14 does not cover the bores 17, 18, and increases when the metal strip 14 is moved upwards and covers these bores 17, 18. This dynamic pressure is used to actuate the valve N, which is installed in the line L2, so that the compressed air flowing through this valve to the valves P1, P is under a pressure which is equal to the dynamic pressure. The same applies to the compressed air flowing to valve E when it is switched on, so that air can flow through valve V under the same pressure. Furthermore, compressed air also reaches the oil container 20 under this pressure, so that oil can flow from the bellows 6 or to this bellows 6 via the valve B.
The valves N and V consist of a closed container divided into two chambers by a membrane. One of these chambers is connected to the control compressed air line via an intermediate line. The other chamber is connected to a compressed air supply line in which the prevailing pressure is higher than the control pressure. The air passes from one chamber to the other via a small cone valve, not shown, controlled by the membrane. An outlet throttle is also provided so that excess air can escape. Under equilibrium conditions, the air escapes through the outlet throttle to the same extent as it passes through the cone valve, so that the pressure on both sides of the membrane is the same.
The chamber connected to the line with a higher pressure is also connected to an outlet line so that larger volumes of air can flow through this outlet line under control pressure. Such valves are of a known type. It can be set in such a way that the air can flow through the outlet line under a pressure which is in a certain ratio to the control pressure (e.g. higher or lower).
The line L2 is connected to the normally isolated input of the valve E via the relay N, but it is also connected to the normally switched-on input of this valve E, so that this valve E is de-excited when the compressed air from the line L2 reaches the valve V. actuated.
Furthermore, the line L2 is connected to one of the inputs of the valve C, so that the valve E is actuated when the valve C is energized. In the latter case, line L .. is connected to the rear of valve C via one of the inputs of valve A, so that this valve C remains energized. When de-excited, its outlet is connected to the atmosphere.
The line L2 is also connected in parallel with an input of the valve P1. When this valve P1 is energized, the compressed air then passes through this valve P1 to valve A, which is thereby actuated. Via the valve P1, this line L2 is also connected in parallel with an input of the valve P2, so that the compressed air can actuate the valve G when the valve P is energized. When valve G is energized, the compressed air from valve G passes to one of the inputs of valve A, and the latter actuates valve C when it is itself energized.
This line L2 is also connected to an input of the valve D via the push button switch PB. When the latter is energized, the valves D, B of the line of the pneumatic cylinder cylinder are also energized.
The shells 7, 8 are arranged with respect to the cutting edge 2 in such a way that the moment of the weight W corresponds to the moment of the weight of the quantity of bulk material to be filled.
The device described works as follows:
At the end of a weighing operation, the valve D is energized, so that compressed air from the line L2 enters the pneumatic cylinder 21. The piston rod 22 is moved upwards, and it lifts the weight W from the shell 7. The valve B remains energized so that the oil cannot flow out of the bellows 6.
When a filled container is removed from the shell 8, the balance beam 1 rotates counterclockwise and the dynamic pressure in the device 13 decreases. A new container is placed on the tray 8 and the push button switch PB is operated. The table below shows the condition of each valve during the weighing process.

When the push button switch PB is operated, the valves D, B are connected to the atmosphere and thus de-energized. The bellows 6 is connected to the oil tank 20.
The lower part of the cylinder 21 is also connected to the atmosphere.
The spring force of the bellows 6 and that of the spring 3 are coordinated such that when the valve B is energized and when i changes in weight between certain limits, e.g. B. between 0 and 0.453 kg / cm2 or between 24.948 and 25.855 kg / cm2, the movement of the balance beam 1 allows compliance with any predetermined dynamic pressure up to + 0.07 kg / cm2 in the device 13. The indeterminate value of the dynamic pressure corresponds to the dynamic pressure that arises on the shell 8 for a certain net weight when the balance beam 1 is in equilibrium.
The arrangement described allows the determination of very small weight variations, such that the movement of the balance beam 1 is reduced accordingly. If there are weight differences between the empty containers, they are automatically compensated for by the movement of the bellows 6, which reduces the movement of the balance beam 1 in such a way that these tare changes do not affect the accuracy of the weighing. At a predetermined value of the dynamic pressure of 1.05 kg / cms in the device 13, an automatic adjustment by 0.07 kg / cm 2 will correspond to an adjustment up to 9.449 g with a tare change of 453 g. The tare adjustment therefore only takes place between predetermined limits. If the weight changes fall outside these limits, the entire device remains blocked.
When the push button switch PB is actuated, Ö1 flows out of the bellows 6 or into the latter, so that the pressures in the device 13 and in the bellows 6 are adapted to one another. The piston rod 22 moves downward, and the weight W is placed on the tray 7. First, the valve F is released, whereupon the piston rod 22 moves further downward until the valve G is released.
When the weight W is placed on the shell 7, the balance beam 1 swivels in a clockwise direction, and the metal strip 14 causes an increase in the dynamic pressure in the device 13.
The valve N is operated so that the pressure. increases in bellows 6 until the effect of spring 3 is compensated. At this moment the back pressure is practically equal to the indefinite value, so that the balance beam stands still. The valves are in the position indicated under 3 in the table.
After reaching the state of equilibrium, the valves P1 P2 are energized so that they energize valve A themselves. The piston rod 22 is in its lower position, the valve G is actuated, and air from the line L2 passes through the valves P1, P2, G and A into the valve C and through the throttle Ro into the valves D and B. When the valve B is energized, the oil in the bellows 6 is blocked, and by energizing the valve D the air below 1.75 kg / cm2 will enter the lower part of the cylinder 21 so that the weight W is lifted off the shell 7. Valve D is self-locking; it can only be de-excited by pressing the push-button switch together with valve B.
The valve B can only be energized if both valves P1, P are energized immediately after reaching the equilibrium state. This means that the device will only work for containers whose tare variations are within prescribed limits.
When the weight W is lifted from the shell 7, the balance beam rotates counterclockwise, and the dynamic pressure in the device 13 falls below the predetermined value, so that the valve P1 is de-energized (position 4 in the table).
The balance beam 1 then remains in this position because the now isolated bellows 6 can no longer influence the balance beam 1. In the uppermost position of the piston rod 22, the valve F is energized. Valve A is de-energized, but valve C remains energized because of its connection to line L2. Valves B, D, E also remain energized (position 5 in the table).
The valve E has been energized since position 3 in the table; the valve 9 is controlled by the dynamic pressure in the device 13 via the valves N, V. In order to allow an easy material supply through the valve 9, the valve N is set in such a way that it only lets through compressed air when the dynamic pressure prevailing in the device 13 exceeds 0.28 kg / cm 2. Thus, when the weight W is lifted, the pressure in the valve 9 drops and the material begins to flow into the container. As soon as the dynamic pressure in the device 13 increases and exceeds 0.28 kg / cm2, the pressure in the valve 9 increases and the passage cross-section is reduced, so that less material flows into the container.
The position of the device 13 in relation to the balance beam is selected in such a way that the dynamic pressure only rises when the weight of the quantity supplied corresponds to the target net weight up to 1-3 kg. When the back pressure reaches the predetermined value 1.05 kg / cm2, the valve P is energized and the valve A is de-energized. As a result, valve C is de-excited via valves A, G, F. The valve E is thereby connected to the atmosphere, so that compressed air below 1.75 kg / cm2 reaches the valve 9, which thereby closes hermetically (position 6 in the table). The throttle Ro ensures that when valve C is de-energized, valves D, B remain energized.
When the filled container is removed, the back pressure in the device 13 falls and the valve P1 is de-excited. The valves are in the condition specified in the table under 7.
The valve P is used to prevent the supply of material when the taring process creates an excess pressure in the device 13 or when the tare weight exceeds the permissible limit.
In the exemplary embodiment described, the device 13 with the slot 16 and the bores 17, 18 was used as the measuring and scanning device. By suitable selection of the slot width, the diameter of the bores and the thickness of the metal strip, the dynamic pressure can vary within very wide limits given very small movements of the balance arm 1. Since the air pressure is the same on both sides of the metal strip, it does not affect the movement of this metal strip.
Furthermore, since it can be moved freely past the mouths of the bore, it cannot cause any damage if it is made to vibrate.
A nozzle could also be provided, the air jet of which would be directed directly onto the upper side of the balance beam, so that it would cause back pressure in this nozzle when it moves upwards.
The means for locking the setting means expediently consist of a pneumatic switch which changes from one position to the other when the pressure exceeds a certain value.
It is in one of these positions when the pressure is between two predetermined values and in the other when the value of the pressure is outside the interval defined by the specified values mentioned. The valves P1, P2 meet these conditions. One of these valves switches over for a certain value and the other for another value. The whole is arranged in such a way that the setting means, that is to say here the bellows 6, are locked via a further valve which is actuated by the two above-mentioned valves when the pressure is between the values mentioned. Valves are expediently used which are both excited or both are de-excited between two values of the pressure.
The control device described can also be used with other weighing apparatus, such. B. with apparatus with beam stretched on one side.
Even where the setting is made by adjusting a spring, the adjustable spring can be an auxiliary spring, which is provided in addition to the load-compensating main spring.
Instead of the valve 9, other means can be provided. An electrical circuit could be provided, the voltage of which would be proportional to the dynamic pressure. This circuit could then control a device through which the bulk material to be fed flows. For example, a vibratory feeder could be provided whose amplitude would be controlled by the circuit such that the material feed would be proportional to the amplitude.
