Description
Machine for straightening wire in a torch bar The present invention relates to a machine for straightening wire in a torch, for example for furnishing bars which can be used in particular in bar turning machines.
This machine is characterized by the fact that the device for guiding the wire on which the latter is pushed, at the outlet of the machine, comprises a bank of cylindrical support pieces, located one behind the other, on which the wire advance without appreciable friction.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
The fi-. 1 is an elevational view of a machine for straightening, as a bar, the wire lying in a torch, very schematically shown.
Fig. 2 is an elevational view of a detail of this machine, on a larger scale.
The fi g. 3 is a plan view of this detail, and FIG. 4 is a section taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 3.
The machine shown comprises a journal 1 on which engages the torch 2 of the straightening wire, a guide sleeve 3, a slackening device 4, drive rollers 5 and a cutting device 6.
These various organs have been very schematically represented, this part of the machine being known per se.
The machine further comprises a guide device 7 for the straightened wire, designated by 8. This guide device, shown in detail in FIGS. 2 to 4, comprises a U-shaped bar 9 on which are rotatably mounted guide rollers 10 arranged cantilevered on one side of the bar 9. These gaets are each integral with a shaft 11 carrying a pinion of drive 12 engaged with a chain 13 itself driven by a rotary shaft 14 of the machine (fia. 3).
These rollers 10 each have a V-shaped groove 15 in which the wire 8 passes, which is thus prevented from moving laterally; their whole constitutes a guide bench on which the wire advances without friction.
It should be noted that, for certain wire diameters, the rollers do not need to be rotary. Simple cylindrical bearing pieces are sufficient to support the wire which slides on them without appreciable friction.
The machine further comprises a control device 16 (FIG. 2) of the cutting device. This control device comprises a photoelectric cell 17 and a light source 18; the optical axis passing through these two members is perpendicular to the plane of the guide bench.
A foil blade 19 is fixed at 20 to the frame of the control device, above the guide bench. This foil blade is free at its opposite end, which has a part 19a resting on a bearing surface parallel to the guide bench, on which it can slide; the blade 19 further comprises a part 19b, forming a right angle with the part 19a, which is on the path traversed by the wire 8.
The blade 19 is flexible enough to be able to be pushed by the end of the wire 8 when it reaches it, without the wire bending, so that the part 19a moves parallel to the plane of the guide bench and intercepts the light ray acting on the photoelectric cell 17. This interception causes the cutting device 6 to start.
As a variant, it is possible to provide for the case where the blade l9a intercepts the light ray in its rest position and reestablishes it, using a window made in the blade for example, when it is moved by the wire 8. .
Once the wire has been cut into a bar having the length separating the cutting device 6 from the control device 16, this bar is ejected from the guide bench by an extractor device comprising a rotating shaft 21 extending all along the bench. and which is driven intermittently, 90c, at each step, by a shaft 22 of the machine which rotates each time the swim section device 6 has operated, immediately after it. The shaft 21 carries several groups of four radial arms 23 arranged at 909 from each other in each group.
These radial arms, which constitute extraction fingers, pass between the guide rollers 10 and lift the bar 8 which rests on them to eject it laterally and make it fall into a receptacle 24 in the form of a gutter. Guide pieces 25 prevent the bar 8 from jumping out when it is ejected.
Provision can be made for the case where the guide rollers 10 will be removable, as also the radial arms 23 of the shaft 21, so as to allow the control device 16 to be placed at any location along the bench -guiding, so that the machine can deliver bars of any length.
The present machine is applicable to wires of various sizes, but particularly to wires of very small cross section, with a diameter of the order of a few tenths of a mm.
