Description

Method and device for stapling sheet layers by means of individual stapling threads The invention relates to a method for stapling sheet layers, in which individual pieces of stapling thread placed on the stapling material by supply elements are held by pressure elements over the duration of the stapling on the stapling material and by sealing tools with the stapling material or connected to itself, as well as a device for implementing this method.

Dutch stitching machines are known which provide the sheet layers with individual stitching threads pierced through the back of the sheet like staples. The sheet layers to be stapled are placed on a roof-shaped saddle arranged above the stitching station, which is slit ge at the point of stitching. A piece of thread, which is fed below the saddle by means of pliers and separated by an endless stitching thread, is then captured by fork-shaped needles and pushed up through the slot in the stitching saddle and through the sheet placed on it.

Here, the piece of thread is held by a pressure element that BEFE on a controlled Hal ter of the fork-shaped needles between these is Stigt and presses the thread with constant spring force against the back of the sheet position. An arm that swings in from above and holds the bow on the saddle serves as a counter-stop. After swiveling the arm back, the sheet is lifted off the saddle.

Similar devices are also known in Falzma machines that provide the sheet before the last fold break with the Dutch stitching. The pieces of thread are inserted into the bow from above so that the free ends of the thread protrude from under the bow. Here, too, the respective piece of thread is pressed by a pressure element arranged between the needles with constant spring force against the material to be stapled and a base and thus secured against slipping or shifting ben. The sheet is then provided with the last fold in the stitching direction and laid out as a stitched layer.

The sheet layers thus healed are then processed into the book block. Here it happens that the stitching threads core themselves before gluing the locomotive, so that the inner pages do not get a firm hold. To eliminate this deficiency, the thread ends are folded over immediately after being pierced through the sheet layer and sealed, glued or welded to the material to be stapled or to itself.

To fold the thread ends are used to put mechanisms that engage on the side of the free thread ends in the bracket level. To do this, it is necessary that the counter-hold required for piercing is removed. On the other hand, however, this means that the pressure element resting on the stitching thread must also release the thread piece, since otherwise the pressure element pushes through the staple material on one side and this is damaged when the folding mechanisms are pivoted.

The release of the piece of thread by the pressure element in turn causes a locomotive core of the thread before it is connected to the material to be stapled or to itself. Here, too, the result is a loose and for many purposes impermissible stapling.

The invention is based on the object of developing a stitching method for processing cut stitching thread pieces that ensures a taut thread position in the stitching bit and does not allow any possibility of loosening the stitching thread pieces.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that while the stitching thread pieces are pierced through the stapled material, one or more pressure members press with full force in the direction of the stapling material, when the stapling thread pieces are subsequently turned over, there is a decrease in pressure and when they are gelled, welded or glued full pressure starts again.

The pressure reduction is expediently measured in such a way that the piece of thread is held securely on the booklet and the material to be stapled does not bend significantly despite the removal of the counterhold, so that the folding mechanisms can intervene unhindered and without damaging the material.

This method can be carried out by means of a pressure element whose pressure force is gear or curve controlled. Such a single pressure element is primarily used for turning the thread ends inward. Three pressure devices are expediently used for turning the thread ends outwards. A middle pressure element is here to hold the thread web, and two outer pressure elements are true for sealing, gluing or welding the thread ends pierced by the bow on the left and right of the thread web. The invention is consequently not limited to a single pressure element. The compressive force itself can be mechanical, e.g.

   B. by spring force, pneuma table, electrically or by other means known per se. The pressure element (s) can also each be equipped with a resilient pressure piece. The pressure force of a pressure member can be a multiple of the pressure force of the associated pressure piece. For the use of special thread feeders, e.g. B. an already proposed rotating feed element in the form of a disk, it is possible to design the outer pressure elements as flat disks when the thread is folded outwards.

The movement of these can coincide with the up and down movement of the rotating thread feed element. It is also possible to swivel the pressure elements out of the issue area. Furthermore, the rotating thread feed element can itself be formed as a pressure element.

In the drawing, devices for implementing the method according to the invention are shown as exemplary embodiments.

1 shows a simple embodiment of the Heftvor device with cam-controlled pressure element and folding mechanisms inward in a front view, FIG. 2 shows the pressure element with resilient pressure piece and folding mechanisms outward in front view.

3 shows a further embodiment of the pressure piece, FIG. 4 shows the sewing needle with sewing thread in side view, FIG. 5 shows the arrangement of three pressure elements in connection with a rotating thread feed element in plan view, FIG. 6 shows an associated section in Seitenan view, Fig. 7 is a detail of the rotating thread feed element serve as a pressure element in Seitenan view.

In a frame 1, a needle guide tube 2 is mounted so as to be vertically displaceable (FIG. 1). Fork-shaped fastening needles 3 (FIG. 4) are adjustably attached to this. The needle guide tube 2 is provided at its upper end with a drive not shown in the drawing. In the needle guide tube 2, a shaft 4 is mounted, at the lower end of which a pressure member 5 is attached. Pressure transfer rollers 6 are arranged on the shaft 4. A pressure lever 7, which is passed through an opening 8 in the needle guide tube 2 and is mounted in a frame point 9, engages in this.

At the free end of the pressure lever 7 there is a roller 10 which temporarily slides on a lifting curve 11 superimposed on a shaft 23 in the frame. At the same time, a control cam 12 is attached to the shaft 23 of the lifting cam 11. On this is by means of a control roller 13, a control arm 14 which is mounted point 15 in a frame. The control arm 14 and the pressure lever 7 are connected to the miteinan by a tension spring 16. The material to be stapled 17 with the piece of stapling thread 18 is located below the pressure element 5, and a counter-hold 19 underneath it. To the left and right of the counter-hold 19 are clock-controlled folding mechanisms 20.

At the beginning of the work cycle, the stitching needles 3 and the pressure element 5 are in a raised position above the inlet level of the item to be stitched 17. This and the piece of stitching thread 18 can thus be promoted to the stitching position shown in FIG. 1 by known means not shown in the drawing without hindrance will. Once this has taken place, the pressure element 5, controlled by the lifting curve 11, comes into contact with the material to be stapled 17. The lifting curve 11 releases the roller 10. At the same time the control arm 14 is pivoted by the control curve 12 upwards and thus the train spring 16 is stretched.

The pressure lever 7 transmits the tensile force of the tension spring 16 via the pressure transmission rollers 6 to the shaft 4 and thus to the pressure element 5. The piece of sewing thread 18 is thus pressed onto the material to be sewn 17 and this against the counterhold 19. The needle guide tube 2 then moves with the two fastening needles 3 downwards. The free ends of the piece of sewing thread 18 not detected by the pressure member 5 are detected by the sewing needles 3 (FIG. 4) and pushed through the material to be sewn 17 in a manner known per se.

While the stitching needles 3 then return to their starting position, the control roller 13 of the control arm 14 slides into the recess 21 of the control cam 12 so that the control arm 14 pivots downward and the tensile force of the tension spring 16 decreases. This causes a pressure reduction on the pressure element 5. The pressure that is now present is sufficient to hold the piece of stapling thread 18, which has already been pierced through the stapling material 17, with certainty on the stapling material 17. The counter-hold 19 can thus release the stapling point without the staple material 17 being bent by the pressure element 5.

When the counter-hold 19 is pivoted out and when the folding mechanisms 20 are subsequently inserted in the direction of the arrow (FIG. 1), damage to the material to be stapled 17 is consequently not possible. The folding mechanisms 20 put the ends of the piece of stitching thread 18 inwards so that they can be sealed in the manner already proposed with sealing tools not shown in the drawing. Here occurs by stretching the train spring 16 on the pressure member 5 again a Druckver gain, which favors the sealing process.

Subsequently, the pressure element 5 returns to its starting position by the roller 10 running on the back 22 of the lifting curve 11 and thus releases the stapled material 17 for display. The folding mechanisms 20, the gel tools, not shown, and the counter-hold 19 also return to their original position. By keeping this work cycle, a secure, tight stitching is achieved by turning the stitching thread ends inwards.

If the stitching thread ends are to be placed outwards, the pressure element extends in a manner not shown over the entire length of the stretched piece of stitching thread and is provided with bores for the stitching needles. It can also be designed in three parts for this case. The folding mechanisms are then arranged in the rest position below the middle piece.

In Fig. 2, a pressure member 30 is provided with a pressure piece 24 which is guided in a bore 25 of the pressure member 30 and spring 26 is effective by a pressure. For the piercing of the fastening needles 3 24 bores 25 are provided in the pressure piece. The pressure piece 24 extends in this embodiment over the entire length of the stretched piece of stitching thread 18, since it is here, as can be seen from the arrangement of the folding mechanisms 28, a stapling device for folding the staple ends 29 to the outside. However, it would also be possible to form the pressure piece 24 in three parts.

By arranging a sol chen pressure piece, the control cam 12 shown in Fig. 1 with control roller 13 and control arm 14 can be omitted. The tension spring 16 is then hung on the frame and thus transmits the necessary force to the pressure lever 7. The pressure force control it follows according to FIG. 2 in such a way that the pressure piece 24 first touches the material 17 with the piece of stitching thread 18. During the further downward movement of the pressure element 30, the compression spring 26 is pressed together until the pressure element 30 is seated on the pressure element 24.

The full pressure force is thus effective on the material to be stapled 17 during the puncture of the stapling needles 3. The pressure organ is then raised somewhat by the lifting curve (analogous to curve 11, FIG. 1), so that only the compression spring 26 is effective. The folding mechanisms 28 now pivot out and fold the stitching thread ends 29 outwards. A counter-hold (not shown in FIG. 2) swivels into the central space. When the pressure member 30 moves down again, the full pressure is effective again so that it can be sealed or welded.

Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of a pressure piece 31 which is designed as a leaf spring and is attached to a pressure member 32 immediacy bar.

It is also possible - predominantly in Heftvor directions with clasp formation to the outside - to form the pressure element or elements as flat disks 33 (FIG. 5), which engage under an already proposed rotating thread feed element 34 and interact with this and one according to FIG or 2 to move the pressure member 5 or 30 shown up and down (Fig. 6). The latter engages in sections 37 which are arranged on the circumference of the rotating thread feed element 34.

The pressure organ 33 can also be designed to be pivotable (see dash-dotted line Fig. 5). In this case, an up and down movement with the rotating feed element 34 is not necessary.

In FIG. 7, a rotating thread feed element 35 itself is designed as a pressure element and is provided with a pressure surface 36. The latter can also be dispensed with if the thread feed element is designed as a smooth surface on its underside.

The exemplary embodiments described can be combined with one another and expanded as desired. It is possible to use transmission controls instead of the curve controls and to use pneumatic, electrical or other known pressure media instead of the spring forces.
