Description

Device for preventing the loosening of turns when unwinding a spool of thread
The invention is concerned with a device which enables the correct unwinding of yarn from a bobbin which e.g. B. rotates in a stack twisting machine, ensures.

In connection with the twisting of textile yarns, it is known to rotate a bobbin of yarn and pull off yarn over the end so that the yarn is given a twist of the desired size. During this withdrawal of the yarn a yarn balloon is formed, the dimensions and shape of which are determined by a number of parameters, u. a. the size of the bobbin, the type or winding of the yarn on the bobbin, its denier and the degree of twist. The length of the balloon naturally depends on which part of the I-coil is being unwound at the relevant point in time.

The winding of the thread spools commercially available up to now is tapered either at the upper end or at the upper and lower end, especially when it comes to spools with thread made of synthetic material. The weight of the bobbin was such that its overall diameter was relatively small so that little or no difficulty due to the formation of loops or crimps in the yarn as it exited the bobbin was found. However, since the introduction of larger packages with a weight which reaches and possibly exceeds 0.9 kg, it has been shown that the thread tends to peel off or to form rings when twisted, especially when unwinding at the upper end of the package takes place.

The peeling causes rings of yarn to peel off the surface of the bobbin, resulting in loops and tearing of the yarn. This peeling can also occur at the lower part of the spool when it is also tapered. The exact cause of this detachment is not clear, but this can be attributed to the fact that different turns of the yarn are displaced, because at the same time the tension of the yarn in the balloon has such a direction that these turns can slip on the conical surface of the bobbin, on which they are placed.

This, in turn, may be due to the presence of a component of the tension of the yarn in the balloon, the direction of which is parallel to the axis of rotation of the bobbin, and is such that the yarn along the face of the taper of the bobbin on which it is wound, slips.

It is a purpose of the invention to eliminate or substantially reduce this type of peeling and looping.

The inventive device for preventing the loosening of turns when unwinding a yarn spool, which is tapered at at least one end, has at least one yarn guide member, which is arranged close to a tapered end of the spool, which allows the yarn to pass freely from the spool and at the same time it is intended to direct the flow of the yarn from the end of the bobbin in such a way that loose turns are held at the point where they occur.

Preferably, one or more yarn guide elements are arranged in such a way that the yarn tension in the balloon always has a component which tends to hold turns of the yarn on the conical surface or surfaces of the bobbin instead of causing them to slip off, i.e. . H. that the angle at which the yarn leaves the bobbin is changed by the yarn guide element or the yarn guide element so that the component of the tension of the yarn in the balloon, which is parallel to the axis of rotation of the bobbin, moves from one to the end of the bobbin. directed direction is changed to a direction towards the center thereof.

In the following an embodiment of the subject invention is described with reference to the drawing.

Fig. 1 is an elevation view, partly in section, of an embodiment
FIG. 2 is a perspective partial view of the upper end of a spindle which is to be used according to the embodiment according to FIG. 1, on a larger scale.

1 shows a spool 11 which is tapered only at the upper end and which is carried by a spindle 13.

A tapered, conically shaped member 12 is attached to the spindle 13. However, this organ can also be attached to the end of the coil itself. The cone of member 12 extends from the top of the bobbin downwards over its taper, with a small gap between the inner surface of the cone and the surface of the tapered portion of the yarn winding of the bobbin. As the yarn is twisted, it is pulled down from the tapered surface of the bobbin as it passes over the lower edge 14 of the conical member 12, thereby holding or retracting any loose or partially loose turns on the tapered part of the bobbin . As can easily be seen, the cone 12 should at least partially, if not completely, overlap the conical end of the coil winding up to its lower edge 14.

2 shows the spindle designed to receive the cone 12. Opposite slots 15 of a bayonet catch are formed at its upper end. These slots 15 serve to receive projections 16 (FIG. 1) which are arranged on the inner surface of the part of the cone 12 which fits onto the upper end of the spindle 13.

For a coil, the winding of which is tapered at each end, two conical guide members are to be provided. One of these is at the lower end of the coil with its conical extension facing upwards and the other is to be arranged at the upper end of the coil with its conical extension facing downwards, the edges of the cones (corresponding to the edge 14 in FIG. 1) at a distance from one another large enough to allow the yarn to unwind freely from the bobbin to the balloon.

The device described ensures that the yarn is always drawn off from each of the conical tapers of the bobbin in such a direction that any loose twine turns at the tapered ends of the bobbin are held in place and do not slip in the direction of the tapers can.

Although the invention has been described in connection with the use of conical members as a means of influencing the direction of flow of the yarn, it should be noted that this is not the only embodiment. Any device which allows the yarn to travel from the surface of the bobbin to the balloon in such a direction as to prevent any loose turns at the tapered end or ends of the bobbin from becoming detached is within the scope of the present invention. The conical member 12, or both such members, may be provided with small air vanes or the like, which are arranged to generate air currents directed over the bobbin from its ends to the center thereof in order to further control the movement of the yarn.
