Description

Crossover Core The invention relates to a crossover core for branch and track crossings, in which fin rails are connected to a multi-element tip body.

The state of the art recognizes two categories of crossing cmurs. The first one, of which the cores have a massive body engraved with ruts, covering more or less the surfaces at the intersection, that is to say at the place where the regular treads, including the essential ruts when the wheel flanges pass, intersect.

Six running rails are frontally welded to the aforesaid block, among which two serving as guides bear laterally cantilevered over an extent depending on the fin, which is expensive.

In addition, the expensive means of implementing the heart, as well as the rigidity of its mass opposing both the rhythm of the moving forces and the directed retransformation of hearts aligned into bent hearts, are unfavorable, as are the sudden variations in section causing irregularity in texture and hardness of the body, which initially presupposes the judicious choice of a refined and expensive steel.

The other group consists of hearts composed of fully rolled or cast fin rails, which are joined or welded by pins and furs to a tip body which is similarly made by several building elements, unless this Advanced body is not forged or cast as one piece, or welded as a unit.

These cores are unsatisfactory, because of the early wear which occurs in service at the points of intersection, and then because of the disintegration which occurs at the welded fungi, for example in the form of chipping. , oval spots, jacks, cracks, all these factors ultimately leading to rupture.

The object of the invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and to give the crossing cores an elastic behavior comparable to that of the section of track traveled simultaneously. Otherwise,

the integrity of its parts and functions ensure that the spacings essential for traffic safety are maintained and effective resistance to wear and stress exerted, in particular at intersection locations. A three-part arrangement of adaptable elements allows, within the limits of a defined angle,

the creation of aligned hearts in bent hearts by simple and inexpensive mechanical and technical operations carried out for a specific purpose and sequence.

-The crossing heart according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the fins rails each consist of a median body of steel with projecting internal faces located in an approximately vertical plane below the ruts, by a guide with similar lateral faces welded frontally to one side of the median body,

and by a running rail welded frontally to the other side of the central body.

The appended -dessin represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the crossover core object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a plan view of this embodiment.

Fig. 2 is a section taken along line a-b of FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a section along the line c-d of FIG. 1.

Fig. 4 is a section taken along line e-f of FIG. 1. To a steel body 1 are frontally welded, on one side, a running rail 4 and a guide 6, and to a body 2 are welded in the same way a running rail 5 and a guide 7 to thereby form two fin bodies.

Frontally welded to the steel body 3 are two running rails 8, 9, a wedge 12 and two flanges 10, 11 joined together in the known manner in a tip body. The places welded laterally are designated by S and the corresponding protruding faces to be welded by R.

The bodies 1 and 2 and the guides 6, 7, forming the core proper, are joined together and end welded to the running rails 4, 5 so as to constitute two independent units called fin rails, which are laterally and directly welded by S-shaped interstices first between them, and then together to the point body, and this by projecting faces R located in a practically vertical plane below the ruts.

A characterized integration supplement is given to the welds S by the use of transverse rods welded simultaneously to the faces R, so as to unload, according to their reduced lengths, the welds at the same time as the respective elements engaged therein, to contrary to what would happen with long stems.

A characteristic advantage of the crossover core described lies in the: arrangement of the three main elements referred to above, called fin rails and tip bodies, allowing the transformation of aligned cores into curved cores at the same base angle, and to practice there, if necessary, a widening of the ruts, without it being necessary to adjust beforehand the rough faces R in all the same.
