Description
Leg and frame connection for collapsible furniture The invention relates to a leg and frame connection for collapsible furniture.
There are leg and frame connections known in which in one of the parts to be connected a screw is rigidly guided at both ends and is provided between its two guide parts with a conical part, which is through a recess of one of the second to be binding Parts attached fitting part engages through and when tightening the screw on this fitting part exerts a tensile effect in the manner of a clamping wedge.
This connection has i.a. The disadvantage is that the screw has to be completely loosened and removed in order to be able to loosen the connection, whereby one screw can easily be lost if several connections are loosened. In addition, the complete unscrewing of often long screws is time consuming.
Furthermore, leg and frame connections are known in which the leg is attached to the frame by means of upwardly tapering slots provided at its upper end and with the end cap pressed onto the upper leg end, with its lower edge pressing the frame into the leg slots The frame is jammed. This connection also has the disadvantage that the end cap must be completely removed in order to loosen the connec tion, so that one end cap can easily be lost when several connections are loosened.
In addition, the parts to be connected cannot be rigidly connected to one another by tensile action in the manner of a clamping wedge, so that if the execution is inaccurate, there is only a loose connec tion.
The present invention makes it possible to avoid the disadvantages of the compounds mentioned by creating a quickly releasable connection in which no items have to be removed completely ent and can thus be lost and in which the parts to be connected can be firmly clamped together.
The invention is characterized in that the leg is provided with an upwardly tapering slot for receiving a connecting piece which is held on the frame by a screw which has a conical part at the front end which extends through a conical bore of the connecting piece and when tightening the screw exerts a tensile effect on this connecting piece in the manner of a clamping wedge.
In the attached drawing is a. Ausfüh approximately example shown according to the invention. It shows: FIG. 1 a plan view of the leg and frame connection, FIG. 2 a diagrammatic representation of the same connection, with one frame being released.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, two slots 11 are provided on a leg 10 formed from square tube, into each of which a connection piece 12 consisting of a profile rod with a T-shaped cross section is inserted.
This connecting piece 12 is located between two side guides 13 which are fastened in the interior of the frames 14 formed from rectangular tube. The one leg of the frame 14, the guide pieces 13 and the connecting piece 12 have an aligned bore, the Boh tion in the connecting piece 12 is conical.
In this bore 15 there is a hexagon socket screw 16 which has a conical section 17 which is located in the conical bore of the connecting piece 12. When screwing in the hexagon socket screw 16, the connection piece 12 is drawn into the frame 14, since the conical part 17 of the hexagon socket screw rests against one side of the conical bore of the connection piece 12, while the leg 10 is pressed against the end of the frame 14.
To loosen the connection, it is sufficient to loosen the hexagon socket screw 16 so that the connector 12 can be pulled out of the frame 14 and the connection between the frame 14 and the leg 10 is loosened and the connec tion piece 12 from the slot 11 of the Leg 10 can be pulled out.
In this way, the connection can be released without the hexagon socket screw 16 having to be completely removed, so that when many connections are released there is no risk of losing a screw.
Instead of the frames made of rectangular tube, wooden frames are also suitable, which have a corresponding slot for receiving the connector. Instead of a profile rod with a T-shaped cross-section, e.g. one or more bolts provided with a head ver are used, which have a conical bore for receiving the screw 16. Any other screws can be used instead of the Allen screws.
