Electric coffee grinder The invention relates to an electric coffee grinder in which the wall of the grinding chamber equipped with a rotatable fly knife has perforations in one part for the passage of the coffee ground to the desired degree of fineness, which ground coffee is collected in a container located outside this wall part .
With such a coffee grinder, the disadvantage becomes noticeable that the screen wall surrounding the fly knife clogs up after a short meal, so that the intended optimal grain size of the grist is lost, a temperature increase that is harmful to the quality of the grind occurs and the required homogeneous composition of the Coffee. Is not reached.
The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages by an improved design of a coffee grinder of the type in question.
For this purpose, the electric coffee grinder according to the invention is provided with a grinding chamber whose wall, which is perforated only at the lower end, merges into a perforated bottom. The grinding chamber can be provided with an abrupt taper directly above the upper edge of the perforated wall part. Furthermore, the fly knife located within the perforated part of the grinding chamber can be provided with ends which are bent away from the perforated base and arranged scooping with respect to its direction of rotation. Next, the rotary shaft of the fly knife can carry a radial fan near the upper end of the grinding room.
To clarify the invention, an embodiment of the electric coffee grinder is described with reference to the drawing. According to the drawing, the housing 2 provided with a handle 1 contains an electric motor 3, the rotary shaft 4 of which carries a fly knife 5. The grinding room in which the fly knife 5 is rotatable, consists of a cup 6 attached to the motor 3 and a shell 7 perforated over the full surface, the edge of which is attached to the ring 8. The Ge threaded hole having ring 8 is screwed onto the unte Ren end of the housing 2, while a container 9 enveloping the perforated shell 7 is screwed into the ring 8 with its upper edge.
Because the diameter of the cup 6 is smaller than that of the bowl 7, the grinding chamber at the upper edge 10 of the perforated bowl wall has an abrupt taper and an abutting surface 11 for the ground material thrown up by the fly knife.
If you want to use the coffee grinder, you put it upside down. After unscrewing the ring 8 together with the perforated shell 7 and container 9, coffee beans are poured into the cup 6. The ring 8 with accessories is then screwed onto the housing 2 and the mill and container 9 are placed on a support surface. When the motor 3 is switched on, the grinding process begins.
The rotating fly knife 5, which grinds the beans to be ground, causes an air circulation stream that exits radially from the perforated shell 7 via the upstanding shell wall into the container 9 and returns axially through the shell bottom into the shell 7.
During the circulation of the air flow through the container 9, this flow has the same direction as the sufficiently comminuted ground material entrained therein, which sinks out of the circulation flow and collects on the container bottom. As a result, the air flow returning via the tray bottom into the tray 7 is freed from the grinding stock to such an extent that the tray bottom does not threaten to become clogged by the grinding stock entrained with the circulation flow.
The strength of the air circulation flow can be increased in that the fly knife 5 is provided with ends that are bent away from the tray bottom and arranged scooping with respect to its direction of rotation.
The return of the grinding stock floating above the flapping knife 5 to the flapping knife can be promoted in that a radial fan 12 is arranged on the flapping knife shaft near the upper end of the grinding chamber.
Because the ground material is kept practically completely in close proximity to the striking knife 5 by the impact surface 11, the grinding process proceeds so quickly that there is no risk of an increase in temperature which would impair the quality of the ground coffee.
After the grinding process is complete, the container 9 can be unscrewed from the ring 8 that is left on the housing 2 in order to be emptied.
By equipping the coffee grinder with a large number of rings 8 with sieve trays 7 of different mesh fineness, the coffee making method to be followed can be taken into account when grinding. Regardless of the mesh fineness, the mill guarantees an extremely homogeneous product of optimal grain size for an unprecedentedly short meal.
