Description

Fig. 4).

Countersinking tool The well-known multi-edged countersinking tools, so-called frizz heads, have the disadvantage that they do not have a peeling, but scraping effect and because they rattle when working and often produce a fluted cut surface. In addition, these tools do not offer the possibility of a trouble-free drainage of the peeling chips, and they cannot be re-sanded by hand.

It has already been proposed to remedy these shortcomings by giving a countersinking tool with a single cutting edge on the conical part of the working head of the conical surface area, so that each cross-sectional area laid through the cone has a spiral-shaped periphery. Although this countersink had a peeling cut, it had the disadvantage of a very poor cutting performance. This disadvantage is intended to be remedied by the invention.

The invention thus relates to a countersinking tool with a conical working head, in which the conical outer surface has a backing cut away from the cutting edge, so that the cross-sectional areas laid through the cone have a spiral-shaped periphery, with the largest radius on the cutting edge and the Chip outlet opening the smallest radius is provided, which is characterized in that at least two cutting edges are provided on the conical jacket surface.

An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. 1 shows a side view of a countersinking tool according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a cross section along line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the tool according to FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 shows a side view of the tool according to FIG Fig. 1, partly in section.

The countersink shown in the drawing has a conical head 1 with an angle a = 90. He has three teeth, i. H. three cutting edges 2 with chip outlet openings 3 and delimiting edges 4. However, it could also have only two or more than three teeth. Likewise, the angle? be less than or greater than 90. The three conical surfaces between the teeth are relief-ground. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the periphery of the cut surface laid through the cone forms a spiral k ,, which deviates from the circular line k2 indicated by dashed lines. The spiral has the largest radius r at the cutting edge 2 and the smallest radius r2 at the limiting edge 4.

It is expedient to form the relief grinding in such a way that the difference between the largest radius r and the smallest radius r2 is approximately 1% of the diameter of the cross-sectional area divided by the number of cutting edges 2. So if a countersink has a largest diameter of 15 mm and three teeth, the relief is: 1% of 15 mm = 0.15 mm: 3 = 0.05 mm.

As shown in FIG. 1, the tool has a conical part 5 adjoining the conical surface with a cone angle of 10, so that this part too, as shown in FIG. 3, has a corresponding relief. This prevents a burr from being created on the edge when deep holes are countersunk.

As can be seen from FIG. 3, the cutting edges 2 are designed in such a way that, as with a drill, there is an angle ss of less than 90 between the conical surface and the surface of the chip outlet channel so that a peeling and not a scraping cut is created. The chip outlet channel is conical, the cone angle preferably being approximately 20 each (cf. FIG. 4). In this way, perfect chip removal is achieved. Tools of the type described can easily be regrinded by hand.
