Description

Corner reflector antenna, in particular for the decimeter television wave range The invention relates to an angle reflector, antenna, in particular for the decimeter television wave range, with an active dipole and a reflector wall enclosing an acute angle in the main radiation direction.

Such corner reflector antennas, preferably used for special cases on transmitter and receiver systems in the meter and decimeter wave range, have the property of bundling the electromagnetic waves particularly strongly in the vertical plane, while in the horizontal plane they approximate the radiation diagram of the exciting dipole maintained. Therefore, full-wave radiators are preferably used to excite them.

Due to the angular position of the reflector wall with the vertex lying at the level of the exciting dipole, there is a very large distance between the dipole and the reflector wall due to the required minimum distance between the reflector wall and the dipole in the vertex of the angle, which worsens the ratio of the forward to the Backward radiation (front / back ratio) brings with it.

This disadvantage of the known corner reflector antennas is eliminated according to the invention in that one or more additional passive antenna elements are arranged between the dipole and the apex of the reflector wall. By means of the additional passive antenna element or elements, in contrast to the quasi-periodic reflector wall, it can be achieved that between the active dipole and the reflector wall there is a reflector which is in resonance at a selectable frequency.

It is possible to maintain the optimum distance between the additional antenna element and the dipole while maintaining all other spacing conditions. With the help of the additional element it is possible to achieve a uniform ratio of the forward to the backward radiation for the entire frequency range of the antenna, in particular for the entire decimeter television wave range.

An embodiment of the invention has proven to be particularly useful in which the additional passive antenna element or elements are designed as a reflector that is in resonance for the lower frequencies of the frequency range of the antenna. The additional reflector element or elements can expediently be designed in the shape of a rod.

A further improvement of the antenna effect is achieved according to another embodiment of the invention in that additional compensation elements are arranged in a known manner in front of the dipole in the main radiation direction, which are dimensioned so that their resonance point is above the upper frequency range of the antenna .

Because the additional reflector element is in resonance at the lower frequencies and the compensation elements above the upper frequencies, it is possible to make the course of the antenna gain curves practically constant as a function of the frequency. This means that this arrangement not only improves the front / back ratio, but also increases the average antenna gain compared to the known corner reflector antennas.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in a schematic perspective view.

The corner reflector antenna shown for the decimeter television wave range consists of a reflector wall 1 enclosing an acute angle in the main radiation direction and an active or exciting dipole 2, which is designed as a broadband full-wave radiator.

In the main radiation -, - direction in front of the dipole 2, compensation elements 3 are arranged in a manner known per se to improve the standing wave ratio over the entire decimeter television wave range. The compensation elements 3 are set in their resonance on Fre frequencies above the upper frequency range. All antenna parts are attached to the support tube T of the antenna, the two levels of the reflector wall 1 intersect at the apex S of the Re reflector wall, which runs at the height of the support tube T ver.

An additional passive, rod-shaped antenna element 4 is arranged between the active dipole 2 and the Schei tel S of the reflector wall. The antenna element 4 is dimensioned so that it acts as a resonant reflector for the lower frequencies of the frequency range of the antenna. The rod-shaped antenna element expediently runs parallel to the apex line of the apex S of the reflector wall and is z. B. arranged on the support tube T at the level of dipole 2 and apex line.
