Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>
    Elektromechanischer Schrittzähler Die Erfindung betrifft ein.n elektromechanischen Zähler, wie er in der Digitaltechnik für Zähl-, Speicher- und Rechenaufgaben vielfach verwendet wird.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>
    Electromechanical pedometer The invention relates to an electromechanical counter as it is widely used in digital technology for counting, storage and computing tasks.

   These relay-like counters, which are set up for visual, in some cases also for electrical reading of the position of the mostly decadically coded number reel, consist essentially of three parts in the known types, namely the actual relay (magnet system) as the power source, the gear lever as Coupling element for power transmission and direction conversion as well as the number roller as a display element or information memory.

   While the drives of the well-known counters are usually modeled on the well-known hinged armature relays, the gear levers of these counters - with corresponding noses or teeth on the number roller - are mainly designed as a double claw similar to the Gra- hamgang or as independent pawls.

  Since absolute counting accuracy must be required of these components, very high demands are placed on the counters in terms of operational safety. The power transmission elements: folding armature - gear lever - roller, are difficult to adjust in the known meters and are of low efficiency. Because of their mechanical stop, the moving parts are also heavily stressed when the pulses are applied. Furthermore, the low-loss conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy, which is aimed for, causes greater difficulties with these meters; As a rule, a compromise is made between the lowest mechanical friction and the most favorable magnetic flux.

   While the known cutting edge bearing has the advantage of low magnetic resistance, but the disadvantage of great sensitivity to abrasion and fretting corrosion, the opposite is true for the anchor flap, which is mounted by means of a pin in front of the magnet yoke. The latter design, which, from the armature flap to the yoke and to the core, has two air gaps connected in series, can indeed be better mastered in terms of production and assembly, but is of poor energy efficiency and relatively expensive.

  These known clapper armature relays are mainly built for direct current operation. AC relays have also become known which, however, require high switching capacities.

  Since the counting accuracy of these counters depends on the accuracy of fit of the components, not only is the very precise mounting and fixing of the gear lever and roller, but also e.g. B. in the cutting bearing, the rigid coupling of the gear lever with the anchor flap is of great importance. As has been shown, after a more or less long operating time due to wear and tear of the moving parts, the above-mentioned defects lead to false readings and thus to failure of the meter.

  Finally, it should be emphasized that in the known counters the power transmission from the gear lever to the number roller takes place in a very disadvantageous manner. While most of the force acting on the roller acts radially and thus uselessly, the number roller is only set in rotating motion as a result of the much smaller tangential force component. Meanwhile, a low-loss power transmission is very important in the case when a contact wiper of the number roller slides over a special contact path for the electrical reading of the number position.

  The required absolute counting accuracy of the counter with a sufficiently long operating time is difficult to achieve because of the deficiencies shown in the known designs.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 In contrast, in the case of the meter according to the invention, the parts required for power transmission are not only reduced, but also made more effective and less subject to wear. Compared to the disadvantageous movement conversion in the known hinged armature relays, the invention is based on a force transmission similar to the rotating armature principle with a magnetic stop.

  Here, the electromechanical step counter with magnet system and number roller is constructed in such a way that the spring-bound yoke of the magnet system, designed as an armature, is rotatably mounted on the fixed magnet core in such a way that it performs a rotating movement when the field is excited, by means of which a coupling element displays information about a counting step advances.

  Two exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown, namely: FIG. 1 shows an electromagnetic counter with a centrally mounted rotating armature, FIG. 2 an electromechanical counter with a swivel armature mounted at the end.

  In the basic embodiment of the meter shown in FIG. 1 with a courageously mounted armature (yoke), the magnetic core 12 carrying the excitation windings 10 and 11 is firmly attached to a circuit board 13 by means of a bolt 14. On the upper part of the bolt 14, the bearing journal, the rotary armature 15 (the magnet yoke) is mounted so that it can move freely in the radial direction and is steered out of the center axis of the magnet core 12 by means of a spring 16. The spring pawl 17 fastened to the armature leg 15 ′ lies in the illustrated rest position of the relay in a groove 18 of the ratchet wheel 20 which is fixedly attached to the roller 19.

   When the series-connected field windings 10 and 11 are excited by means of direct or alternating current, the magnetic force of the system forces the rotating armature 15, overcoming the restoring force of the spring 16, into the central axis of the stationary magnetic core 12 and consequently sets the armature 15 in a rotary motion Bearing pin 14.

   The resilient pawl 17 attached to the armature leg 15 'takes the ratchet wheel 20, which is firmly connected to the number roller 19, with the rotary movement of the leg and consequently rotates the number roller 19 rotatably mounted on the plate 13 by means of the axis 21 by almost one step. The completion of the counting step as well as the exact fixation of the number roller 19 to the board 13 or to the window of the counter (not shown) is carried out by the counter mechanism consisting of the spring 22, the ball 23 and the perforated ring 24. After the excitation current has been switched off, the rotating armature 15 is retracted into the starting (rest) position as a result of the tensile force of the spring 16.

   The resilient pawl 17 lies in the following ratchet groove after the resilient jumping over of the following tooth of the ratchet wheel 20, while the roller 19 is held in the position already assumed by the latching mechanism 22/23/24.

  The counter is then prepared for the next work cycle caused by a new pulse.

  The function of the counter shown in FIG. 2 with a swivel armature mounted at the end is similar to the embodiment shown in FIG. The swivel armature 32, which is rotatably mounted at the end of the magnet core 31 carrying the excitation winding 30, is steered out of the central position of the magnet system by means of the spring 33. When the field winding 30 is appropriately fed, the magnetic force forces the armature 32 (the yoke) into the center axis of the magnetic core 31 and, by virtue of the spring pawl 34 attached to the leg 32 ', drives the number roller forwards by almost one counting step. Thanks to the locking mechanism 35/36/37, the number roller 38 is completely pulled into the new number position and locked in this position until the electrical impulse that causes the next step.

   When the field winding 30 is de-energized, the armature 32 swings back into the rest position shown and places its resilient pawl 34 in the following groove in the ratchet wheel 39.

  In the exemplary embodiments described, the information display was shown as a decade-coded number scroll. It is obvious to use the same drive where the number roller is so big that it practically becomes a labeled rack.
