EMI0002.0001
Temperatur <SEP> in <SEP> <SEP> C <SEP> Partialdruck <SEP> in <SEP> mm <SEP> H9
<tb> 50 <SEP> 90
<tb> 40 <SEP> 55
<tb> 30 <SEP> 32
<tb> 20 <SEP> 17,5
<tb> 10 <SEP> 9
<tb> 0 <SEP> 4
Dehumidifying arrangement, in particular for compressed air in compressed air switches The present invention relates to a dehumidifying arrangement, in particular for compressed air in compressed air switches. The invention is characterized in that a container containing a cooling arrangement is connected to a room containing a gas that is to be dehumidified by means of at least two parallel lines, one of which leads to both the room and the container opens at a higher level than the other lower line.
The invention provides a particularly simple dehumidifying arrangement that works expediently without a fan and chemical preparations and with the help of which the air in a compressed air switch can be kept dry even under unfavorable conditions.
The container is expediently provided with a discharge organ, whereby it can be easily dehumidified by draining the condensate that has accumulated in it.
The cooling arrangement advantageously consists of cooling flanges which are arranged on a tube in the container. This pipe can either be connected to a normal cooling unit or to a compressed air source. In the latter case, the inlet opening of the pipe must be provided with a pressure reducing device for the compressed air, which can expand in the pipe when the container is cooled.
The invention is explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings, which show two embodiments of the invention in example.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the dehumidifying arrangement consists of a container 1 which contains cooling flanges 2 which are arranged on a tube 3 bent in a U-shape. The container is connected to a switch tank 4 for the compressed air by means of an upper line 5 and a lower line 6. The parallel lines 5 and 6 are provided with storage elements 8 and 9. In the bottom of the container 1, a tube with a discharge element 7 is arranged. The U-shaped bent tube 3 is connected to a cooling unit 10.
The tank 4 is filled with a filling member 11 through a pipe.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the same parts as in FIG. 1 are designated. In the cooling arrangement according to FIG. 2, however, the cooling flanges 2 are arranged on a continuous tube 12 which is connected to compressed air via a pressure reducing element 13 and a line 14.
The dehumidifying arrangement works on the principle of the cold wall. In the container 1, the compressed air coming from the tank 4 is cooled. The cooled air sinks down in the container 1 and is pushed back into the tank 4 through the lower line 6 by self-pressure. At the same time, new air is sucked in from tank 4 through upper line 5. On the way through the container 1, the compressed air is cooled on the cooling flanges 2, and when their relative humidity is large enough, condensation takes place on these cooling flanges 2.
This reduces the absolute humidity of the air which is conveyed back to the tank 4 through the lower line 6. As a result, the relative humidity of the compressed air in the tank 4 is reduced during this course. If z. B. the relative humidity in the tank 4 is 100% from the start, a relative humidity of 50 to 60% while maintaining about 10 lower temperature in the container 1 than in the tank 4 is obtained. This is shown in the following table for the partial pressure of saturated water vapor as a function of temperature:
EMI0002.0001
Temperature <SEP> in <SEP> <SEP> C <SEP> Partial pressure <SEP> in <SEP> mm <SEP> H9
<tb> 50 <SEP> 90
<tb> 40 <SEP> 55
<tb> 30 <SEP> 32
<tb> 20 <SEP> 17.5
<tb> 10 <SEP> 9
<tb> 0 <SEP> 4
<tb> -10 <SEP> 2 The condensate that separates from the cooling flanges runs down along these into the container and is collected in the bottom of container 1. From here it can easily be emptied through the filling element 7. In winter you have to reckon with the precipitation of ice and hoarfrost on the flanges 2.
When de-icing, the storage elements 8 and 9 are expediently closed, and the container 1 is heated so that the ice melts, after which the water is drained through the element 7. A display device for checking the condensate must expediently be arranged. The occurrence of condensate in the container 1 can, for. B. be controlled by opening the organ 7, while a window is conveniently arranged in the container wall for the control of the de-icing of the cooling flanges 2.
For compressed air switches in normal operation, where the compressed air is dried by reducing the pressure, calculations show that the power required for the cooling process is theoretically below 50 W with a tank volume of around 3 m3. The cooling can either - as shown in FIG. 1 - be obtained by a cooling unit 10 or in that - as shown in FIG. 2 - the compressed air can expand continuously through a pipe.
