Description

Fig. 1 gezeigten Ausführungs- form ähnlich.

The subject of the present invention is a flow machine with a housing which extends in the longitudinal direction; de has the bore, which is open at one end and provided with an insert which delimits a channel extending approximately in the circumferential direction of the housing and has a shaped surface which gives the channel an increasing cross-section in the circumferential direction, with the bore in a Rotor chamber a rotor is arranged.

The turbo machine according to the invention is characterized in that an outer wall is arranged radially outside the rotor and is circular and concentric to the rotor axis, and that the channel is also arranged laterally in the axial direction on that side of the circumference of the rotor which is the open end of the Bore facing,

and that a part is arranged in the bore in the axial direction between the circumference of the rotor and at least a larger part of the shaped surface, which has a round outer surface. has, the diameter of which is at least as large as that of the rotor and ider forms an annular gap through which the channel is in connection in the axial direction with the circumference of the rotor.

Known flow machines, such as. B. centrifugal pumps, compressors or turbines are provided with one or at most two approximately in the circumferential direction of the respective housing, mostly spiral-shaped channels with gradually increasing or decreasing cross-section, in wel chem kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy or vice versa.

If the machine has a single inlet and a single outlet, this channel extends around the circumference of the machine. If there are two outlets in the case of a pump or two inlets in the case of a turbine, two spiral channels can be provided, each of which extends over approximately half the circumference.

In most of the previous flow machines such. B. Pumps with a spiral housing, the spiral channel is arranged directly radially outside the circumference of the rotor. Even with machines where this is not the case, the outer wall of the rotor chamber is not circular and not concentric with the axis of rotation of the rotor. Since the pressure prevailing in the spiral channel changes along the circumference during operation, this leads to a resulting force which acts on the rotor perpendicularly or transversely to its axis.

This results in deflection of the rotor shaft and stress on the bearings of the rotor. In many cases, this transverse force has also led to the rotor shaft breaking in the known pumps.

The invention aims to create a flow machine whose characteristics can be changed or adjusted quickly with little effort, which is simple and easy to manufacture and essentially consists of standard parts that can be used for machines of different powers, and in which on lateral forces acting on the rotor can be prevented or reduced to a minimum.

1 shows a vane rotor 10 of a centrifugal pump, which is arranged in a rotor chamber 310 in a pump housing 11 and is rotated by a shaft 12 on which it is mounted.

Liquid that is fed to the inlet opening of the rotor 10 through an inlet channel 14 is fed by the rotor 10 into a collecting channel 15, from which it reaches an outlet 16, which is shown in FIG. 1 by a dashed circle.

The collecting channel has a constant radial width and a gradually increasing axial depth in the circumferential direction of the housing. The channel is axially limited on: one side by a shaped surface 18 at the inner end of an insert ring 19:. Which has a flange 20 directed outwards at its outer end.

The insert ring 19 has a cylindrical outer surface 319 by means of which it is mounted in the open end of the bore 311, in such a way that the shaped surface 18 facing inward in the axial direction is located on the side of the circumference of the rotor which is the open end of the bore 311 the housing is facing. The rotor chamber 310 is formed by the relevant part of the interior of the bore 311 which contains the rotor 10 and extends radially outward from the circumference of the rotor.

The collecting channel 15 is formed by part of the interior of the bore, which extends in the axial direction from the side of the rotor housing 310, which faces the open end of the bore 311. Another spiral channel 15a is formed on the side of the rotor chamber 310 which faces away from the open end of the drilling 311 and is delimited by a shaped surface 17 within the housing 10.

The shape of the surface 18 of the insert ring 19 is shown in perspective in FIG. In order to illustrate their relationship to the opposite shaped surface 17 of the housing 11, an annular part 21 of this housing 11 is also shown in FIG.

however, which part 21 is an integral part of the housing 11 consisting of one piece.

From FIG. 2 it can be seen that if one follows the circumferential direction, the axial distance between the shaped surfaces 17 and 18 increases in the counterclockwise direction, the latter corresponding to the direction of rotation of the rotor 10.

In Fig. 1, the long ge dashed lines 17, 18, which diverge from left to right, the surfaces 17, 18: as far as they are in front of the pump axis, while: the short dashed lines 17, 18,: the of diverge right to left, the surfaces 17, 18: represent, as far as they stretch behind the pump axis to the outlet 16 he.

The flange 20 of the insert ring 19 is between an end face 321 of the housing 11 and a flange 22 of a pump cover 23 and is separated from the surface 321 by two spacer rings 24, 25.

When the insert ring 19 is in the position shown in FIG. 1, the collecting channel 15 has its largest volume.

The volume of the spiral channel 15 can be reduced by removing the pump cover 23 and the insert ring 19 and then reattaching it, but placing the flange 20 on the spacer ring 24 and the spacer ring 25 between the flange 20 and the flange 22 of the lid 23 is arranged.

The volume of the spiral channel can be reduced to a minimum by attaching the insert ring so that its flange 20 lies directly on the surface 321 of the housing 11, while both spacer rings 24, 25 between the flange 20 of the insert ring 19 and the flange 22 of the Lid 23 lie. Intermediate positions of the insert ring 19 can be obtained by using .thinner spacer rings.

Instead, can: the volume of the collecting channel 15 also by removing: the. Insert ring 19 and replacing it with another insert ring.

The pump housing shown in FIG. 3 comprises a number of housing parts, which are shown schematically in FIG. 4, namely a stuffing box housing 31, an upper plate 32, an axially extending, outer housing wall 33, an axially extending one , inner housing wall 34, an outlet channel 35, an inlet channel 36, a connecting wall 37, which extends from:

the outer wall 33 extends to the inner wall 34, a GE flanged insert ring 38 and an end cover 39. The end cover 39 is not shown in FIG.

The pump housing shown in Fig. 3: is Herge by welding the parts 31-37 together. The parts 37 and 38 have oppositely inclined helical surfaces or shaped surfaces 40, 4: 1, which form the axially opposite boundary surfaces of the collecting channels 42 and 42a, so that: the collecting channels have a constant radial width with increasing axial depth.

These collecting channels are located on opposite sides of a rotor housing 310 with the rotor 10. The insert ring 38 is provided with a cylindrical outer surface 338, which is intended for insertion into the cylindrical inner surface 3; 33 of the outer housing wall, and with a cylindrical inner surface 337, in which the cylindrical outer surface of the cover 39 is mounted.

This cylindrical surface 339 extends in the axial direction inward to the rotor chamber 310 over a larger part of the forming surface 41 and has a diameter which is larger than the outer diameter of the rotor 10.

The inlet channel 36 leads through an opening 336 in the outer housing wall 33 and is connected to an opening 334 in the inner housing wall 34, the openings 336 and 334 being on the side of the connecting wall 31, which is opposite the rotor chamber 310. The opening 334 is connected to the suction opening of the rotor 10 through the annular connecting wall 37.

The outlet channel 35 is connected to an opening 335 which communicates with the larger ends of the collecting channels 42 and 42a. In the construction shown in FIG. 3, a base 45 is arranged on the upper wall 32 of the pump housing, which is used to fasten an electric drive motor 46.

The flange of the insert ring 38 is clamped between a flange 47 and a flange 48 of the cover 39 provided at the lower end of the outer wall 33, spacer rings 49 being provided between the flange 47 and the flange of the insert ring 38. In its position shown in Fig. 3 ment, the insert ring limits a collecting channel of maximum volume, which can be reduced in that one or both spacer rings 49 on the other side of the flange of the insert ring 38 is attached.

The parts shown in Fig. 4 can be manufactured and welded together with little effort. The housing walls 33, 34 can be made of pipe. exist or be produced by cylindrical rolling of flat metal sheets. Although the housing walls 33 and 34 are shown as cylindrical in FIGS. 3 and 4, they can also be slightly conical.

Despite the fact that the connecting wall 37 according to FIGS. 3 and 4 also stretches somewhat in the axial direction, it is essentially a wall extending in the radial direction, since it has to connect the axial outer wall 33 with the axial inner wall 34.

The shaped surface 40 of the housing and thus also the corresponding collecting channel 42a can be omitted.

In the embodiment of FIG. 6: the pump housing is made of a number of parts which are similar to the parts of the housing 3 and contain: a gland housing 61, a top plate 62, an axially extending cylindrical outer wall 63 , an axially extending cylindrical inner wall 64, an outlet channel 65,

an inlet channel 66 and an annular connecting wall 67 which extends from the outer wall 63 to the inner wall 64. The parts 61 to 67 are welded together into a single piece. The housing has an axially directed, cylindrical bore 68 which is open at its lower end. which has a cover 69 and which at (its inner end leads to a rotor chamber 70,

which holds a rotor 71 ent.

The cover 69 has a central, inner recess 72 which receives the lower end of a pin 73, which has a round cross section and extends axially from the cover 69 into: the housing bore 68. The pin 73 closes a central opening 74 of the cover 69 and is releasably fastened to the latter with the aid of screw bolts 75 and nuts 76. At its inner end, the pin 73 has a flange 77. The flange 77 extends outward from the pin 73 in the radial direction. If necessary, the flange can also be inclined slightly with respect to the radial direction.

The flange 77 has a larger outer diameter than the rotor 71 and separates the rotor chamber 70 from a collecting duct 78 which is axially offset with respect to the rotor chamber 70. The circumference of the flange 77 and the surface of the bore 68 of the housing together delimit a connecting passage 79 through which the chamber 70 communicates with the collecting channel 78, which in turn opens into the outlet channel 65.

The circumferentially increasing cross-section of the collecting channel 78 results .sich: by a helically extending surface 80, 81, 82 on the inside of the cover 69, with a step 83 between the axially distant ends 80, 82 of the screw surface the position of the water seal certainly.

The inner surface of the pin 73, facing away from the cover 69, has a recess 84 which receives an axially directed annular projection 85 provided on the rotor. The side wall of the recess 84 is provided with a wear ring 86 serving as a lining.

With a base 87 is referred to, which is used for mounting a drive motor.

The pump housing shown in Fig. 6 can be manufactured relatively cheaply by welding its parts together.

This is largely due to the fact that the outer wall 63 is cylindrical, or in other words, that the housing has an axial bore which is open at one end and which contains the rotor chamber and the collecting channel.

Compared with the pump according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the pump according to FIG. 6 has a collecting channel 78 which is offset with respect to the rotor chamber 70 and is connected to the same by an annular connecting passage 79.

In this embodiment. the liquid is conveyed from the rotor into the rotor chamber 70, from where it flows essentially along helical lines through the connecting passage 79 into the collecting channel 78 and from there finally into the outlet channel 65. The concentric, ringför shaped rotor chamber 70 and the concentric ring-shaped connecting passage 79 contribute significantly to

to maintain an even pressure distribution around the rotor and to avoid one-sided radial pressure on the rotor shaft. The embodiment.

6 also allows the volume of the spiral channel to be greatly increased without having to enlarge the diameter of the pump housing, which facilitates the design and manufacture of pumps with a high specific rotational speed.

The pump housing according to FIG. 7 is the same as that according to FIG. 6, apart from the fact that the cover 69 has been exchanged for a differently shaped cover 89 in order to reduce the volume of the S: piralana- les 78. The shaped surface 80, 81, 82 of the cover 89 is located closer to the flange 77 of the pin 73.

Replacing the pump cover in this way provides an opportunity to change the volume of the collecting duct.

Another possibility for changing the collecting channel is shown in FIG. 8, according to which spacer rings 91 are arranged between the end of the cylindrical housing wall 63 and the flange 90 of the cover 89, with spacer rings 92 of the same thickness between the pin 73 and its Seat 93 are arranged on the cover 89.

In this way, the volume of the collecting channel is increased compared to that according to FIG. 7, without it being necessary to use a different cover. The volume of the spiral channel 78 can be further increased by adding more rings 91 and 92, or reduced by removing some of these rings.

Fig. 9 shows a third possibility for changing the volume of the collecting duct 78. In this case, the inner surface 95 of the cover 99 is flat. The collecting channel becomes. bounded by an annular member 96 which extends across the width of the collecting channel and is attached to the cover 99 by bolts 97 and nuts 98.

The distance between the annular member 96 and the cover 99 and thus also its distance from the flange 77 of the pin 73 can be changed with the aid of adjusting screws 100 which are screwed through the cover 99 through. The ring member 9.6 has a screw surface 80, 81, 82, the, that of the cover 69 and. 89 corresponds.

The embodiment according to FIG. 10 is similar to that of FIG. 6, except that a screw surface 80, 81, 82 is not only: on the. Inside of the cover 69 is provided, but also on the outside of the flange 77 of the pin 73.

The arrangement of FIG. 11 is similar to that of FIG. 6, but the increasing cross section of the collecting channel 78 results from a screw surface 80, 81, 82 which is provided on an annular member 101 which is attached to the outside of the Flange 77 of pin 109 is flat.

In the arrangement according to FIG. 12, the inside 102 of the cover 119 is again flat and the increasing cross section of the collecting channel 78 is produced by a helical surface 80, 81, 82 which is provided on an annular member 103 , the screw 104 is attached to the inside of the lid 119 by means of adjusting. The outside 105 of the flange 77 is not bounded in a helical manner.

The arrangement according to FIG. 13 is similar to that according to FIG. To reduce the volume of the collecting channel 78, however, an annular filling member 106 is provided which is gela Gert on the pin 73 and surrounds the same between the flange 77 and the cover 6.9.

A suitable recess is provided in the cover 69 for receiving the filling member 106, with a corresponding reduction in the radial width of the screw surface 80, 81, 82

The embodiment shown in FIG. 14 is essentially similar to the embodiment shown in FIG.

However, an insert ring 160 extends axially to the inner end of a cylindrical bore 161 in which it is mounted and has a recess 172 which forms the spiral channel and is surrounded by a cylindrical side wall 163 </ B> and a helical end wall 164 is limited. The collecting channel can: be widened by increasing the diameter of the cylindrical side wall 163.

Conversely, the volume of the collecting channel can be reduced by replacing the ring 160 with another ring with a side wall 163 of smaller diameter.

The insert ring facilitates the use of rotors of different diameters in a given pump housing, with a. Insert ring with a side wall 163 with a smaller diameter is used together with a rotor with a smaller diameter. and vice versa.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 15, the pump housing 168 has an outlet channel 169, and is provided with an axially directed bore 170, i. H. with a bore which is open at both axially opposite ends of the housing. On its inlet side, the housing is closed by a cover 171 which has an inlet channel 172 which leads to the inlet opening 173 of a rotor 174. At its opposite end, the housing 168 is closed by a cover 175, which has a gland housing 176 and a base 177.

Insert rings 180, 181 are provided between the covers 171, 175 and the cylindri's bore 170 of the housing 168. The insert rings 180, 181 have flanges 182, 183 which are located between the housing 168 and the flanges 184, 185 of the covers 171, 175. Spacer rings 186, 187 are arranged between the housing 168 and the flanges 182, 183 of the insert rings 180, 181.

The insert rings 180, 181 have. at their opposite ends screw surfaces 120, 121, 122. These surfaces, together with the cylindrical bore 170 of the housing 168, serve to delimit the relevant collecting ducts between which the rotor chamber is located. The volume of the collecting channels can be changed by removing the spacer rings 186, 187 or by using spacer rings of a different thickness.

16 and 17 show an arrangement which is similar to that of FIG. The circumferentially variable cross-section of the collecting channel 78 results in this case from a spiral-shaped surface 190 which is directed radially outward and is formed on an annular member 191 which is inserted into the housing and fits snugly on the pin 73, which it surrounds. In this embodiment, the collecting channel 78 has a constant axial depth and the variable cross section results.

from a change in radial width.

The necessary means for sealing the pump parts at the connection points are not shown or described in detail; however, they can be of any suitable known type.

In all the embodiments described so far with reference to FIGS. 1-17, the housing has an axially directed, cylindrical bore which is open at least at one end and leads to or comprises the rotor chamber and in which a collecting channel is provided. In all these cases, the increasing cross-section of the Spiralk.anal results from appropriately shaped surfaces of one or more members that are inserted into the pump housing and can be detached from it.

It should be emphasized that in the housings described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 15, the collecting channel has a constant radial width and an increasing axial depth, with a rectangular cross section. The rectangular shape of the cross section of the collecting channel results in a very simple construction.

The cross-section of the collecting channel can of course also be trapezoidal in shape with flat sides. Such shapes of the spiral channel in which the walls are flat in cross-section are generally desirable, but the collecting channel could also be designed so that the sides of the cross-section , or some of these sides are not flat.

18-21 show a multistage centrifugal pump, which in each stage has a collecting channel of constant radial width and increasing axial depth in the circumferential direction, a connection between the outlet end of the collecting channel of each stage and that to the inlet of the rotor the inlet duct leading to the next stage is provided.

The housing includes a series of circular, plate-like or radially extending housing members 250 and 251. Each housing member 250 has a central opening which defines a neck 254 for the entry portion 255 of the associated rotor 256. Each housing member 250 has an axially extending, annular wall 257 which receives an axially directed projection 258 of the adjacent housing member 251.

The projection 258 of the housing member 251 has a helical shaped surface 259 which faces a flat surface 260 of the housing member 250 and defines a collecting channel of constant, radial width and with increasing, axial depth in the circumferential direction. The collecting channel 261 is located next to a rotor chamber 361 in the axial direction.

This is formed by that part of the space within the cylindrical wall 257 which contains the rotor and extends radially outward from the circumference of the rotor. If desired, the surface 260 of the housing member can also be provided with a shaped surface and the steepness of the helical surface 259 can be reduced accordingly in order to obtain a collecting channel with the desired property.

The annular wall 257 of the housing member 250 is cut out over part of its circumference, as indicated by 262 in FIG.

Housing member 251 includes a wall 263 and is circumferentially provided with an annular flange 264. The projection 258 protrudes from one side 265 of the wall 263, which has a central opening 266 for receiving the pump shaft 267.

On the other side 269 of the wall 263 there is provided an arcuate wall 270 which projects axially from this plate 263 to separate a dead space 271 from a space on the other side of this wall, the latter space having an inlet duct 272 leading to the input part of the rotor 273 of the next stage, and an inwardly directed passage 274, the outer end 275 of which communicates with a channel 276.

The channel 276 leads through the wall 263 and extends in an inclined or helical manner to the axis direction from the outlet end of the mold surface 259 to the outer end 275 of the passage 274. Accordingly, the liquid that reaches the larger outlet end of the collecting channel can be smooth 19 and the appropriate channel 276 in the wall 263 to the outer end 275 of the passage and then inward to the inlet channel 272 of the next stage.

The cutout 262 of the annular wall 257 of the housing member 250 is essentially aligned with the inlet end of the channel 276 of the wall 263, so that the channel 276 is prevented from being closed by the wall 257.

Fig. 18 shows only two stages of a multistage pump, however any number of such stages can be arranged in series, each stage containing housing members 250, 251 and a rotor 256.

The outer cylindrical surface of the annular projection forms the inner delimitation of the collecting channel 261 and extends in the axial direction closer to the rotor chamber 361 than the larger part of the shaped surface 259. The diameter of this cylindrical surface is larger than that of the rotor .

Since the opposite surfaces of the housing members 250, 251 are easily accessible for machining, filing or other work prior to their assembly, it is possible to manufacture such multi-stage pumps accurately and relatively economically from castings, or by welding as with this 3 and 4 has been described. The inner upper surfaces can be made smooth in order to facilitate the flow of the liquid.

The present invention permits the manufacture of the housing of a turbomachine from a number of parts, the majority or even all of which, with the exception of the inlet and outlet parts. Outlet channels in which the planes perpendicular to the axis of rotation have a circular cross-section.

With the inventive flow machines, z. B. Pumps, can have very different characteristics only by adjusting or changing. the insert can be achieved with the mold surface without a significant loss of efficiency would have to be accepted.

The adjustment of the mold surface is usually done in the axial direction. However, it is also possible to change the characteristics: by turning the insert slightly.

This rotation is made possible by the fact that the insert is located in a round hole. Another change in characteristics can be achieved by replacing the rotor. It can thus be used a single, standard housing for flow machines with widely differing characteristics, which leads to a reduction in production costs. The changes in the characteristic are on.

Place, d. H. Possible with machines installed in pipelines, whereby the housing does not need to be removed.
