Description

Ventilation grille for routing the cooling air in externally ventilated machines and devices in electric traction vehicles In electric traction vehicles, especially locomotives, with externally ventilated machines and devices, the heated air is usually blown out through a ventilation grille on the roof of the vehicle. These grids must be designed in such a way that dripping water or foreign bodies cannot penetrate the exhaust air ducts and so far this has only been achieved with grid structures that cause a complicated multiple deflection of the exhaust air and consequently also cause a significant drop in pressure.

The purpose of the invention is now to create a ventilation grille in which the penetration conditions of dripping water is prevented, but with only a very small pressure drop in the grille. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the lattice consists of upright arched blades, at the lower end of which on the concave side and halfway up on the convex side a groove running along the blade is attached and the mutual spacing of the blades is so dimensioned is that the grooves of adjacent blades overlap.

The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment.

1 and 2, a ventilation grille arranged on the roof of a locomotive is shown in view or plan view, while FIG. 3 shows the grille on an enlarged scale, showing it section.

The grid consists of a number of slightly curved upright blades 1, at the lower end of which a channel 2 is attached on the concave side. On the convex side of each blade 1, another channel 3 is provided at approximately half the height. The mutual spacing of the blades 1 is chosen so that the lower channel 2 of one blade is covered by the upper channel 3 of the adjacent blade. The channels 2, 3 open into end plates 4, which are designed as sewers and at the same time serve to fix the blades 1.

With the ventilation grille according to the invention, the rain or snow, depending on the angle of inclination, is caught either by the upper gutter 3 or the lower gutter 2 or by both of them in the case of vertical dripping water, so that a direct drip through even with heavy rainfalls is impossible. At the same time, the pressure drop in the outlet air due to the very small deflection from the blades 1 and the channels 2, 3 is very low. Compared to the previously known ventilation grille with repeated strong deflection of the exhaust air within the grille, the pressure drop is reduced by at least half.

If the ventilation grille is arranged outside the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, d. H. laterally displaced compared to the position shown in FIG. 1, the sewers 4 can still use the existing roof slope.
