Device for the production of coil springs from plastic threads, in particular for use as rows of zipper links
The main patent relates to a device for winding helical springs from threads of suitable thickness and suitable material, in particular for the production of helical spring zip fasteners, in which the thread is wound around a stationary conical mandrel from which the windings are removed and processed further.
The procedure is that the winding mandrel is freely rotatable, but is prevented from rotating by means of an armature connected to it by one or more fixed permanent magnets, while the thread running off a bobbin has a hollow shaft that can be set in rotation and is coaxial with the mandrel a rotating guide passes through, by means of which it is fed to the winding mandrel through a circular slot between the armature and permanent magnet. As a result, a coil of any size can now be used, which can be attached at any point in an easily exchangeable manner.
Above all, an extremely simple winding arrangement is achieved, but this has the disadvantage that its performance in terms of thread diameter and thread stiffness is limited, since the greater the thread stiffness and strength exerted on the winding mandrel held by the magnets becomes. In addition, with larger thread diameters, the annular gap between the armature and the permanent magnets must be wider, so that permanent magnets are not sufficient to hold the armature with the winding mandrel in a fixed position.
It is therefore proposed according to the invention, as a further development of the main patent, that the mandrel connected to an armature is prevented from rotating by at least one fixed electromagnet. This makes it practically possible to wind plastic threads of any strength and stiffness in the relatively small device into helical springs, since the power of the electromagnets can be made as large as desired by setting the current accordingly, whereby it is also possible to increase the width of the circular slot according to the larger thread thicknesses to choose.
For a more detailed explanation, the invention is illustrated using an exemplary embodiment in the drawing. The illustration shows an axial section through the device. The winding device consists of a base plate 1 or a frame which is attached to a machine frame. This base plate 1 is drilled through, and a sleeve or hollow shaft 2 is rotatably mounted in the bearings 3 and 4 in this through-hole. Between the two bearings, a V-belt pulley 5 or a toothed wheel is attached to the hollow shaft 2, which pulley can be set in rotation by a V-belt 6 or a pinion. In one end of the hollow shaft 2, a pivot pin 8 is mounted by means of ball bearings 7, to which an outer coaxial cone 9 with winding mandrel 10 is attached.
On the pin 8 an anchor 11a is also attached, which is disc-shaped and which either forms an extension of the surface of the cone 9 with its circumference or is cylindrical. A thread guide 15 runs around the hollow shaft 2, the outer end of which is directly opposite the annular gap 14 or, better, is passed through the annular gap and ends directly with its outer end 15b at the cone 9. A plastic thread 15 or plastic wire is now passed through the hollow shaft 2 and runs from any supply reel.
At a free distance around the armature disk 11a, electromagnets 17 and 18 are now arranged, which are connected via lines 19 to a power generator. Any number of electromagnets 17 or 18 can be provided in accordance with the spatial conditions, or they can be distributed in a ring around the armature disk 11a, leaving the annular gap 14 free. By means of these electromagnets, an electromagnetic field is developed in which the armature 11a and thus the winding mandrel 10 are held non-rotatably. Instead of a simple armature disk 11a made of soft iron, an electromagnet or a corresponding permanent magnet can also be used.
It is also possible to use a combination of electromagnets and permanent magnets in such a way that the electromagnets form the armature disk 11a and the permanent magnets are appropriately distributed around the outside. The outer electromagnets 17, 18 are firmly connected to the base plate 11. For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that instead of the electromagnets shown, other devices for generating an electromagnetic field can also be used which, like the electromagnets themselves, can have any shape and size.
The winding process is carried out in the same way as according to the main patent by rotating the hollow shaft 2 and moving the thread guide 15, but it is possible through the use of electromagnets to wind thick threads or strands into coil springs of any profile according to the profile of the dome 10 and Furthermore, the slot width can also be chosen large enough due to the build-up possibility of strong magnetic fields, and the thread guide 15 can therefore also run through the annular slot 11 in order to be able to properly feed the thread to the winding mandrel 10 so that it does not touch the stationary Needs to slide along edges of the circle 9 or the armature disk.
