Description

  Valve for propellants
The invention relates to a valve for propellant liquids, with a closed position and two levels of use, finir metered or continuous outlet of propellant liquid.

The invention aims to provide a simple valve suitable for mass production which can work reliably for a long time, while known or previously proposed valves do not fully satisfy these respects,
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown in section.

The valve shown consists of an outer housing 1, an insert housing 2, a valve body 3, an insert piston 4 and a compression spring 5. The drawing also shows how this valve 1-5 is used to supply a liquid 7 contained in a bottle 6 to spray.

The outer housing 1 has a casing 8 which tapers conically downwards and which is provided with a bottom 9 at the bottom. A bore 10 is provided in the bottom 9, which also extends through a connecting piece 11. At the top, the outer housing 1 has a flange 12.

The insert housing 2 forms a cover 13, the. lies on the flange 12 and the edge 14 of which is placed around this flange 12. A cylindrical bushing 15 adjoins the cover 13, which is followed by a downwardly converging part 16, in the lower end of which a bore 17 is present.

The valve body 3 forms a vain piston. 18, which is displaceable in the socket 15 and rests against the cover 13 with a sealing bead 19 in the illustrated closed position of the valve. The piston 18 has longitudinal grooves 20 on its circumference, only one of which is visible in the drawing. The piston 18 has a shoulder 21 which, when the piston 18 moves downwards, comes to rest on an inwardly projecting stop shoulder 2 formed by the insert housing 2. The piston 18 also has a cylindrical recess 23 in which the spring 5 is accommodated and in which a stepped part 24 of the insert piston 4 is displaceable.

The valve body also forms a hollow shaft 25 above the piston 18 which is provided with a radial bore 26 at the bottom. Another radial bore 27 is provided not far from the lower end of the piston 18, which bore 27 is externally connected to an annular space 28 which is located below the stop shoulder 22 of the insert housing 2 between this housing 2 on the one hand and the piston 18 and the insert piston 4 on the other is located.

The insert piston 4 is provided with an axial bore 29 which adjoins the bore 17 and in the upper part of which opens a radial bore 30 which is connected to the annular space 28 in the closed position.

The valve 1-5, whose parts 1-4 are made of plastic, is by means of an inner cap 31 which, for. B. ams metal can be attached to a flange 32 of the bottle 6. A. uf, the VerntUkorperschaft 25 sits a z. B. made of plastic outer cap 33, which-en lower edge 34 surrounds the flange 32 of the bottle 6 and a lower edge 35 of the inner capsule 31. The outer capsule 33 forms a membrane-like, elastic cover 36 which allows the shaft 25 to be pressed downwards.

In the part 37 of the outer cap 33 which is seated directly on the shaft 25, a radial bore 38 is provided, which is opposite a larger opening 40 in the outer jacket 39 of this cap 33.

A tube 41, which extends almost to the bottom of the bottle 6, is connected to the nozzle 11 of the outer housing 1. The liquid in this bottle 6 is a liquid under a pressure of, for. B. 2-6 atü standing propellant liquid, z. B.

Frigen, the eanie active component, e.g. B. a perfume, a color or the like is added. Above the liquid level designated by 42 there are frigid vapors.

The arrangement described works as follows:
In the closed position shown, the propellant vapors press the propellant fluid 7 through the tube 41 and the bore 10 into a free space 43 above the base 9 and further through the bores 29 and 30 into the annular space 28. The stop shoulder 22 does not prevent it the liquid penetrates into a small ring graph 44 located above this shoulder 22.

On the other hand, the bead 19 effects an effective sealing of the piston 18 on the cover 13 under the pressure of the spring 5 supported on the insert piston 4, and the radial bore 26 of the hollow shaft 25 is also not connected to the interior of the sleeve 15.

If one only wants to spray a little liquid, one only presses lightly on the cover 36 in the direction of the arrow 45. The valve body 3 is thereby displaced a little downwards so that the radial bore 26 comes into contact with the interior of the socket 15. The radial bore 30 of the insert piston 4 comes to face the recess 23 at the point indicated by 46, whereby the connection between) the axial bore 29 and the annular space 28 is interrupted.

The annular space 28 is now with the lower ends of the grooves 20 of the piston. 18, which in turn are in communication with the atmosphere via the radial bore 26, the hollow shaft 25, the radial bore 38 and the opening 40. As a result, the propellant fluid expands so that at least part of it evaporates and you do not The vaporized part, in particular the active component, is carried away to the outside in the form of fine droplets, d. H. is sprayed to the opening 40 out. The liquid in the mine, upper annular space 44. is of course also sprayed in the same way.

If you let go of the cover 36, the valve body 3 returns to the position shown, the annular spaces 28 and 44 and the grooves 20 fill up again and you can go through another weak point. Press the cover 36 to spray a further dose of liquid corresponding to the volume 28, 44 and 20 (first use stage).

If you want to spray a lot of liquid, you press the cover 36 down so hard that the shoulder 21 of the piston 18 comes to rest on the annular shoulder 22; then the radial bore 27 of the piston 18 faces the radial bore 30 of the insert piston 4, so that its axial bore 29 is connected to the annular space 28, which in turn is connected to the atmosphere via the grooves 20 and the hollow shaft 25. In this position, liquid is constantly sprayed (second use stage).

If you make the Einiaatzgehäuse 2 from rubber-elastic material, such that its downwardly converging part 16 expands when you press the cover 36, you can dimension the valve so that the radial bore 30 of the piston 4 just then Position 46. faces when the lower end of the part 16 hits the bottom 9 of the housing 1 due to its expansion (see 16 ').

A significant increase in pressure is then necessary in order to bring the valve body 3 into the position required for permanent liquid discharge, which further facilitates the emotional setting of the first or second stage of use, which is otherwise not difficult.
