Process for the production of mine and dense pre-granules and facility for carrying out the process
The invention relates to a method for producing small and dense pregranulates and a device for carrying out the method.
In the production of small and dense pregranulates by extruding a mass of resin, hardener, catalyst and a filler compacted in a mixing and kneading machine, the reaction is carried out up to half the stage, so that no complete crosslinking occurs. The result is a plastic mass, from which the smallest possible parts should be produced by extrusion. During the further processing of this prepared mass in a normal extruder, great frictional heat occurs, so that there is a risk that the material will harden. However, curing should not take place until compression molding. The purpose of the invention is to propose a solution in which the disadvantages mentioned at the beginning do not occur.
The method according to the invention for the production of small and dense pregranulates by extruding a mass precompacted in a mixing and kneading machine is characterized in that the mass is conveyed at an approximately constant or only slightly increasing pressure at high speed against a nozzle plate and only in the nozzle plate directly upstream zone is compacted.
The device for carrying out the method has a screw rotating in a housing and a nozzle plate closing the outlet end of the housing and is characterized in that the screw shaft has a core diameter that is steadily decreasing in the conveying direction, so that the volume of the conveyed material in the conveying direction increases until a compression zone is reached. The end of the screw is expediently cut off flat, so that the material is pressed through the openings in the nozzle plate by a rotating wedge surface.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in longitudinal section.
The device has a screw housing 1 which is equipped with an upper vertical material feed nozzle 2. An extruder screw 3 is arranged in the housing 1, the screw shaft 4 being supported by means of ball and roller bearings 5 in a bearing housing 6 flanged to the screw housing 1. The screw 3 is driven in a conventional manner and is not shown in detail in the drawing. 7 with a degassing opening of the screw housing is designated.
As can be seen from the drawing, the screw has a steadily decreasing core diameter, and the screw threads are cut extremely deep. The diameter is much larger at point 8 than at point 9, and the core diameter is even smaller at the outlet end of the screw housing, as can be seen at 10.
Due to the steadily decreasing core diameter, the volume of the conveyed mass increases accordingly, so that up to point 10 there is no compression of the material. The end of the screw is cut flat at 11, so that between this end of the screw and a nozzle plate 12 closing off the screw housing 1, a wedge-shaped space 13 is delimited, in which the compression of the conveyed material takes place.
On the side of the nozzle plate 12 facing away from the screw, a rotating knife 14 is arranged, which is mounted on a shaft 15 which is driven by means not shown in detail via a gear 16. The gear 16 is fastened to the worm housing 1 by means of an arm 17.
The nozzle plate 12 is provided with round or polygonal openings which increase conically in cross section in the conveying direction, so that only relatively very small spaces remain and thus no significant additional compression of the material takes place. The pressure drop on the outlet side of the nozzle is quite insignificant compared to the inlet side.
The screw described is self-cleaning and has no dead corners. Due to the strongly tapered core diameter at the end of the screw, the material will be ejected evenly over the entire cross section and no residues will remain. It is also useful if the screw is set up vertically or at an angle, whereby the self-cleaning of the same is promoted in that no material gets stuck.
