Description

Storage and viewing frames for photographic images, in particular slides and negatives The invention relates to frames for storing and viewing photographic images, in particular slides and negatives.

In particular, the invention relates to a frame suitably made of plastic with a plurality of openings through which the pictures can be brought so that they can be viewed with the aid of the light falling through the openings. Associated with each opening are means by which an image is securely captured and adjusted.

An essential purpose of the invention is the creation of a frame with a plurality of openings which are delimited by holding means for a picture. These means are designed and arranged so that the images, so z. B. the slides or negatives, can be inserted easily and quickly and then held securely in place.

Another purpose of the invention is to create a picture holding frame of simple, strong, durable and practical design that can be produced with the lowest possible cost of materials.

Further features of exemplary embodiments of the invention emerge from the following description in conjunction with the. Drawing. 1 shows a front view of a picture holding frame according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a rear view of the same, FIG. 3 shows a pictorial view, drawn on a larger scale, of a corner of the frame according to FIG. 1, parts being shown in section,

Fig. 4 is a section along line 4-4 in Fig. 1 in the direction of the arrows there, Fig. 5 is a section along line 5-5 in Fig. 1 in the direction of the arrows, Fig. 6 is a section along line 6- 6 in FIG. 1 in the direction of view of the arrows, and FIG. 7 shows a partially sectioned view along the line 7-7 in FIG. 1, also in the direction of view of the arrows.

A rectangular, suitably made of molded plastic existing frame 10 has a plurality of departments, each of which is seen with an opening 11 ver. Over each opening a photographic image, e.g. B. a Diaposi tiv or a negative 12, are attached.

The image is held in position by boundary walls or stops 13, 13, which are arranged at each corner of the opening 11, as can be seen in particular from FIGS. 1 and 3.

The image is secured against lateral displacement by ribs or stops 14, 14 ', which in FIG. 1 extend upwards over part of the distance between the stops 13 and part of the edge length of the images. This is the case for all openings with the exception of the end openings, in which the outer edges of the pictures are to be brought into position between one of the ribs or stops 14 and a stop or wall 15 at one end of the frame.

The frame has a plurality of webs 16, some of which extend at the same distance from one another in the longitudinal direction, while others extend at the same distance from one another in the transverse direction of the frame. Each of the openings is bounded by these webs, the webs forming edge support surfaces for the images. The stops 13 and 14 are arranged on the longitudinal and transverse webs.

A plurality of resilient tongues protrudes over the mentioned edge support surfaces, which are connected at their upper ends only to the stops 13 and can be bent upwards around their end connected to the relevant stop 13. Each tongue 20 carries a pair of ribs 21 and 22 which are located on the underside of the tongue at its free end.

There is also a reinforcing rib 23 near the fastening end of the tongue, which also presses the image downwards. If an image 12 is to be used, its upper end in FIG. 1 is pushed along the contact surfaces of the webs under the tongues 20, which can be bent upwards due to their resilient properties. The images are pushed in until their upper edge hits the stops 13, 13.

The lower end of the image is then brought to bear against the stops 25, 25 which, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 4, have an inclined upper side 26 and further downward vertical surfaces 27. The inclined surfaces 26 guide the image into its lower position, while the surfaces 27 hold the image in the position shown in FIG. 4 development. As can also be seen, the tongues 20 press the image down into its lower position in the relevant department.

From the foregoing description it can be seen that a plurality of compartments are provided in the frame 10 and that means for positioning and holding the image are provided in the relevant department.

The images are so securely held by these means that they cannot become detached from the frame when the same is handled. 3 shows that it is very easy to push the pictures under the tongues 20 and to insert them between the lateral and upper boundary walls or the stops. The image is then precisely fixed in each department.

The openings 11 allow the free passage of light through the images, e.g. B. slides or photographic negatives, too, so that you can see the pictures well. The frame made as a molding with the webs 16 consisting of one piece with it is fabricated with the least amount of material, and it is a strong and durable construction. To increase the strength and rigidity of the frame, the stops 13 can be connected to each other so that they form walls or ribs that extend in the longitudinal direction of the frame.
