Electric timepiece
The present invention relates to an electric timepiece, comprising a permanent magnet motor in the air gap of which is disposed an electric coil which periodically rocks on either side of a central position in which it acts on the member. room regulator.
In constructions of this type proposed hitherto, the means for returning the electric coil, respectively the anchor, consist of stops made of magnetic material cooperating with a part made of magnetizable material. This solution, generally adopted.
has the disadvantage that the magnetic field of the return stops interferes, in an uncontrollable manner, awc the field of the motor magnet, disturbing the isochronism of the regulator. To avoid this drawback, one sôktion would consist in placing a magnetic screen between the two fields, as has been proposed in a dispeS - t magnetic return of the anchor driven on the other hand a permanent magnet motor. Such a solution is however not without complicating the construction, not to mention that the available space does not allow tow to have such a screen.
The object of the present invention is precisely to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks by using a single permanent magnet as motor magnet and return mantle.
The timepiece according to the invention is characterized by a plate made of soft magnetic material shown on the coil at such a point that, in the mid-position of the latter, said plate is encased by the poles of the motor magnet. mentioned above while, in its two extreme positions, it is near the corresponding pole of this magnet, which tries to hold it in place.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention applied to a device for maintaining an electric watch sprung balance comprising a motor assembly periodically rocking between two stops.
Fig. I is a plan view of the maintenance arrangement
figs. 2, 3 and 4 are sectional views taken along lines II-II, III-III and IV-IV respectively of FIG. 1.
In these figures, 10 designates the balance of the watch. 1 1 the axis of this balance, 12 the regulating hairspring, 13 the plate, 14 the balance bridge, 15 the gear bridge, 16 the first mobile of the gear, 17 and 18 the finger and the contact blade of a switch 60 closing when the balance passes, in one direction, through its position of static equilibrium.
The maintenance of the oscillating movement of the balance 10 and the drive of the gear train are ensured by a motor device whose magnetic circuit is formed by a permanent magnet 19 and by a core 20 of soft magnetic alloy placed in the air gap of the magnet . This core 20, fixed on the plate 13 by a screw 21, carries two flanges 22 and 23 forming the mounts of two pierced stones 24 and 25.
The equipment of this motor device consists of two pieces of U-shaped supports 26 and 27 provided with pivots 28 and 29 rotating in the stones 24 and 25, and by a coil 30, of rectangular shape, the long sides of which oscillate in the 'space between the poles of the magnet 19 and the core 20, and whose short sides are embedded in the supports 26 and 27.
In the axis of the pivots 28 and 29, but outside the assembly, the supports 26 and 27 are still provided with two contact points 31 and 32 electrically connecting, by means of two elastic blades 33 and 34 and from switch 60, both ends of coil 30 to a current source 35.
The support 26 also carries a spring-loaded pawl 36 cooperating with the ratchet cheek of the mobile 16. The assembly can oscillate between two stop screws 38 and 39 mounted on the plate 13. It is subjected to the action of a device. return comprising a plate 37 of soft magnetic alloy mounted on the support 26 so as to be exactly halfway between the two poles of the magnet 19 when the crew is in the middle of its travel.
Under these conditions the poles of the magnet 19 exert on the wafer 37 a magnetic action which is zero in this position of the crew, which corresponds to an unstable state of equilibrium of the latter, and which is directed towards the pole. closer to the pad when the crew is on one side or the other of this middle position.
When the balance oscillates, the crew rocks periodically between the stops 38 and 39 under the mechanical action of a finger 40 of the balance which engages, when the latter passes, by its position of static equilibrium, in a fork 41 formed by a groove made in the support 27. This tilting takes place against the action of the return device up to the position of static balance of the balance and in the direction of this action from this position. When the crew switches in one direction, switch 60 closes and coil 30 is temporarily energized. The crew is then subjected to a torque which causes an acceleration of its tilting movement and the transmission of a mechanical impulse to the balance.
This impulse is not only used to maintain the movement of the balance, but also to drive the gear train intermittently via the pawl 36 and the ratchet 16.
The magnet 19 therefore fulfills two distinct functions.
First of all, that of an element of the motor device when the coil 30 of the moving assembly is energized by the closing of the contact 60; secondly, it maintains the movable assembly against one or the other of the stops 38 or 39 by causing an attraction on the return element of this assembly, constituted by the plate 37 of soft magnetic alloy.
