The invention relates to eccentric fasteners, of the type used in particular for the sides, the doors of trucks and other similar transport devices.
The operation of this type of closure is ensured in a conventional manner, both for its locking and for its unlocking, by a pivoting handle to which the bolt is connected by an elastic coupling. This pivoting handle must therefore be grasped in the hand in order to be actuated by a pulling movement for unlocking and by a pushing movement for locking, which requires a passage of the hand, behind and on the sides of this handle.
In addition, in most cases, these closures placed on the sides or on the doors of trucks, are necessarily located at a height from the ground such that their operation is difficult, particularly when unlocking, the traction not being exerted. on the handle in the plane of its pivoting.
The eccentric closure object of the invention and comprising a maneuvering handle articulated on a compensating spring sleeve to which the rod of a bolt is coupled, is characterized in that the handle is articulated by one of its ends to a housing and constituted by a main lever on which is articulated, at an intermediate point, the spring sleeve, lever to which is associated a secondary lever which is supported by its end located beyond its axis of articulation on the housing in relation to its part on which the action of the hand is exerted, below the main lever and forces it to tilt outwards,
until beyond the position of indifference to the line determined by the articulation axes of the main lever and the spring sleeve, at which point the compensating spring continues this initiation of movement of the main lever and accomplishes unlocking itself. The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention. FIG. 1 is an overall elevational view in axial section along 1-1 of FIG. 2; fig. 2 is a front view.
A case 1 having a rectangular concave part 1 'serves as a general support for the closure. A main lever 14 is articulated, in a manner known per se, in this housing around an axis 3 and, to this lever, is articulated by an axis 4, a sleeve 5 serving as a support for the rod 6a-6b of the gene 7 by means of a spring 8 working against the compression between the bottom of said sleeve 5 and a slotted nut 9.
The rod 6b has a shoulder 11.
A secondary lever 15 has two branches 16 as well as, at the rear, an enlarged part 17 serving as an operating pusher.
At the front, this double lever is articulated at 18 on the housing 1.
The ends of the branches 16 of this lever 15 bear at 19, under a part 21, which the main lever 14 comprises.
Locking is therefore effected by pressing the lever 14 as in certain types of closure already in existence.
On the other hand, the unlocking does not take place by direct action on the lever 14 but on the secondary lever 15 by pressing down on its part 17, in the direction of arrow x. The branches 16 of this lever 15 then force, by the parts 19, the main lever 14 to pivot outwards in the direction of arrow y.
At the end of the travel of the lever 15, the lever 14 has passed the indifference position and under the effect of the spring 8 the total unlocking is carried out by itself by inertia of the assembly in its forward movement under the effect of said spring. It follows from the above that the locking and unlocking maneuvers, that is to say opening and closing, do not require grasping the handle with the hand; it suffices to act, possibly with the tips of the fingers only, to depress one or the other of the two levers.
Furthermore, given that there is no longer a passage for the hand to be provided in the casing, the latter can be greatly reduced in width, which presents both manufacturing facilities and ease of use. installation on bodywork.
In order to achieve symmetrical closures, so that they can be used either right or left, the secondary unlocking lever is made, as indicated above, of a U-shaped part, surrounding the main locking lever. placed in the center. The thrust action exerted on this secondary lever takes place at the base of the U, which has for this purpose an enlarged part, the action at this point having, moreover, the advantage of offering an arm of important leverage.
This closure has the additional advantage, thanks to its small overall thickness resulting from its design (elimination of the space necessary for the passage of the hand), of being able to be mounted either inside a side wall of thickness. normal (30 mm) or in a special drop side with a thin profile, (in principle 20 mm) without noticeable protrusion from the outer face of the side wall.
In addition, the stem of gene 7 consists of two parts 6a-6b articulated one on the other about an axis 6c. The part 6a is rigidly secured to the bolt 7 and that 6b which constitutes a yoke is secured to the sleeve 5 by the spring 8 and the nut 9.
30 designates the stanchion in which the keeper 10 is fixed and 31 designates the framing profile of the drop side 32. It can also be seen that the outer wing 31 has this protrusion in the direction indicated by the arrow z this thrust is transmitted, by the profile 31, to the part 6a of the rod of the bolt, but, because of the articulation 6c, this thrust does not tend to move, in the direction of neutral point, the axis of joint 4.
It is also noted that the outer wing 31a of this pro wire 31 is not cut in line with part 6a of the rod of the bolt, so that the pivoting of this rod is prevented or, more exactly, very limited, this which helps prevent any untimely opening.
The main lever 14 finally comprises a housing 23 which can be opened to receive the body 24 of a recessed security lock, the pivoting bolt 25 of which comes, passing from position a to that b, into a recess 26 formed in the release lever 15 and paralyze its movement. It should also be noted that this same bolt system, the rod of which is made up of two parts articulated one on the other, can equip a double closure (right and left or top and bottom) with a single central control.
