Description

The invention relates to a filtering device that can be placed on a collecting container for luxury goods extracts for filling with selectable quantities of ready-to-brew luxury goods and extraction liquid.

There are numerous designs of such devices, known for short as coffee filters, with sieve bottoms. The filters usually have a complex structure and consist of a number of individual parts that must be put together before the coffee is prepared. This makes handling cumbersome and time-consuming. In many cases the effective filter area is too small or its specific load is too high. As far as large-area metallic parts are used, there is a possibility that the filtrate takes on an undesirable aftertaste. This is probably due to the fact that no filters with permanently arranged sieve trays made of metal or plastics are in practical use.

There are also filter cartridges known which consist of tubular containers, the mouths of which are closed by filter screens. between which there are ready-to-brew luxury items, for example ground coffee. These devices are used in coffee machines designed as continuous flow devices for hot water. The devices have the disadvantage that it depends entirely on the feeling of operation whether the pull-out has the desired strength or whether the pull-out is too strong or too weak due to too early or too late completion of the amount of water passed through the cartridge.

It is the object of the present invention to strive for the training of a device that meets the requirements of simple structure, quick handling, good cleaning options and production of a fully satisfying extract.

The filter device proposed to solve this problem and which can be placed on a collecting container for luxury goods extracts for filling with selectable quantities of ready-to-brew luxury goods and extraction liquid as well as with a sieve bottom is characterized according to the invention in that the bottom of a one-piece plastic container provided with a throttle point for the luxury goods extract is a have a fine mesh, the sieve bottom is arranged upstream at a distance that is equal to a fraction of the wall thickness of the bottom end.

If one arranges baffles, for example in the form of ribs, between the bottom end of the container and the fabric sieve arrangement, the height of which in turn corresponds to only a fraction of the wall thickness of the closing base, the sieve base being supported on the baffles' delimiting surfaces facing the container cavity, increases as a result the right-angled deflection of the luxury food extract after exiting the luxury food layer and due to the arrangement of the baffles, the dwell time of the liquid intended for extracting the aromatic substances of the luxury food to a value,

which leads to the desired taste of the extract, whereby the further, desired possibility arises of being able to introduce the entire amount of extract liquid required for the production of the extract with a correspondingly adequately sized container of the filter device, so that the previously usual scalding of the Ground coffee with small amounts of extraction liquid, for example added spoonfuls, is no longer necessary. This saves time and work without affecting the quality of the extract.

The proposed design of the filter device makes it possible to give the container a size in which the volume for both the amount of stimulants introduced and the amount of liquid used to produce the extract is filled with a single filling of the container and based on an average content of the extract of extra These substances are coordinated with one another in such a way that the amount of liquid can no longer be introduced in individual portions, but by means of a single insertion movement, i.e. in one pour, without the quality of the extract suffering.

The usual size filter funnels with paper inserts, on the other hand, have such a small volume that the housewife is forced to pour in the scalding water in portions. The quality of the extract is less dependent on the portion-wise display of the coffee powder than on the duration of contact between the brewing water and the fine particles of the coffee grounds. This so-called dwell time can easily be brought to the required values by throttling the outflow of the extract.

Such a throttling occurs as a result of the rectilinear deflection of the extract into the space that is located between the sieve bottom and bottom end of the Behäl age, as this space is limited by measuring the distance between the sieve and the bottom of the container to a minimum with a volume corresponding to this smallest possible distance is.

As a result of the upstream effects of the deflection and the resulting deceleration of the flow occurring in the direction of gravity, a back-up is achieved, which means that fine and very fine particles of the coffee grounds do not move with or through the mesh of the fabric sieve as they flow be torn. So there is the formation of a barely clouded lead and thus an overall clear excerpt, as is generally required.

The beneficial effects that can be achieved can be further improved by designing the container bottom as a carrier for baffles, which lead to a further slowing down of the flow and to increased pre-accumulation of the flow. Baffles of this type can consist, for example, of suitably arranged and designed ribs, which have the further advantage that their upper, appropriately rounded boundary surfaces are able to serve as supports for the micro-fine mesh sizes.

It is useful if the screen mesh is firmly clamped along its edge. This can be achieved, for example, in that in the case of a one-piece design of the container, the fabric is subsequently attached to the peripheral edge zone by welding. If such welding takes place, it is advantageous. to form an edge bead with a flat bearing surface on the base piece, so that the sieve base placed on the bead leads to a reliable fixing and connection of the latter with the container.

The choice of the metal mesh filter to be used has not yet been fully recognized, but is particularly important. While it is essentially irrelevant in the case of filters with a bottom seal whether perforated sieve plates or relatively coarse filter metal mesh are used, since the formation of a filter cake, which leads to relatively clear extracts, is guaranteed when the drain is closed, what matters with through-flow filters is

to capture and hold back the finer flour particles from the strongly swirling mixture of ground coffee and brewing water, especially since there is the possibility that coffee particles swirled up may have a grain size that is sometimes larger or smaller than the cross-section of the free mesh, making the particles smaller Grain size penetrate the mesh. but get stuck there, which leads to a clogging of the sieve. It is therefore advisable to use the greatest possible fineness of such screen mesh in order to eliminate these disruptive phenomena.

However, only very sparse information about the fine sieves to be considered can be found in the literature. because systematic experiments of this kind have not yet been carried out. In connection with multi-sieve arrangements made of nylon gauze, the standard size 80 has been mentioned, with body tissue threads of 0.13 to 0.15 mm being used. However, the above-mentioned systematic tests have shown that such screens are much too coarse to be able to meet the requirements. Preferably, microfine fabrics of the sieving standard 250 to 350 with a clear mesh size of less than. a maximum of 0.08 mm, useful below 0.05 mm for use.

The nozzle determining the amount of drainage from the extract per unit of time should not exceed a clear diameter of 2 to 4 mm, so that the amount of filtrate draining off per unit of time is at most a tenth of the volume that would occur if the filter device had a large drainage cross-section .

The type of material is also important. In a systematic investigation of diverse types of metal fabric, it was found that, surprisingly, stainless steel fabric clogged far less than coffee sieves made of previously used fabrics, for example made of phosphor bronze or iron wire or plastics (nylon). Another decisive factor for the use of micro-meshes made of stainless steel was the further finding that the adhesive forces between metal and the luxury food particles then become so small that, despite the small mesh size, hardly any clogging of the screen mesh can be observed.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention shown as an example in section through a one-piece filter device.

It denotes 1 the vessel intended to hold the scalding water, which, according to the illustration on the left, made of any material, including clear glass, milk glass, porcelain, earthenware, etc. or, as the right half of Fig.l indicates, made of plastics , preferably opaque plastics, there is a refractory design dessel ben is preferable when using glass. The vessel 1 is handled by means of the handle 2. The bottom piece 3 of the vessel has the appropriately calibrated nozzle 4, the cross-section of which is set so that the flow rate is throttled when the drawer passes through.

This enables the dwell time of the brewing water in the vessel to be determined. On the surface facing the vessel opening, the bottom piece 3 is covered with rib pieces 5, which achieve a baffle effect. The ribs 5 also serve to support the be made of the finest metal mesh Auflagersiebes 6 for the coffee grounds. At the bottom of the bottom piece 3 there is a collar attachment 7, which serves to secure against lateral Ver shifts when placed on the collecting vessel.

The drawing also shows that the height of the ribs 5 and thus the distance between the final plane 8 of the bottom piece 3 and the Siebge weave 6 is so small that it comes to a right-angled deflection of the liquid in the very low filtrate space 9, which the Outlet nozzle 4 flows in the radial direction. As a result, the sinking speed of fine and finest coffee particles occurring in the direction of gravity is slowed down in such a way that even particles that could also pass through the mesh remain behind, taking into account the flow resistance, especially since the entire flow of the extract through the nozzle 4 is greatly reduced.

This leads to a backlog of the filtrate in the space 9 and in the upstream, lower sections of the vessel. This creates a fairly clear forerun, so that the extract produced as a whole does not contain any solid suspended matter that would tend to form sentences in the extract that has already been prepared. As a particular advantage of this procedure, it is achieved at the same time that the very fine fabric is not or only slightly clogged even after a long period of use. However, this fact is of crucial importance for the practical use of the coffee filter rule.

It is known that these fine, clogged tissues are very difficult to clean and this is the main reason why coffee filters of this type have not yet been able to be introduced.

As the drawing also shows, the fine sieve 6 occupies the entire clear cross section of the vessel 1 and the vessel itself is designed with the same cross section over its entire height. The specific surface loading of the filter sieve is therefore optimally small and, with medium requirements for the extract content of the produced extract, it is possible to pour such an amount of luxury food flour onto the sieve bottom 6 that the capacity of the container 1 is sufficient, the volume required to produce the coffee of scalding water and especially with a single pour into the container 1.

The quality of the extract depends mainly on the contact time between the brewing water and luxury goods, with an upper limit that should be adhered to with regard to the quality and temperature of the extract. By appropriately dimensioning the cross-section of the nozzle 4 and the volume of the space 9, the conditions can be achieved which, if adhered to, make it possible to achieve a quality of the extract that was previously unattainable in filtration devices in which the sieve trays were made of metal.

The drawing also shows that the container 1 and base piece 3 are designed in one piece and that the sieve base 6 in its edge area on the narrow edge 14, e.g. is attached by welding. This, in conjunction with the support on the upper caps of the ribs 5, ensures that the Siebbo the 6 can not deform or reject even under the static pressure in larger quantities of poured brewing water and retains its level position, so that the space 9 does not changed. The distance 10 shown in the drawing has been shown larger for the sake of better illustration. In reality, the distance 10 is smaller.

The material used for the micro-fine sieve with a mesh size of less than 0.05 mm is stainless steel, which is mainly available on the market in the form of steels alloyed with chrome and nickel.

It has proven to be useful to close the open mouth of the container cavity with a well-closing lid after the stimulant has been introduced and to open it briefly by removing the lid in order to pour in the brewing agent (boiling water). As a result, the aroma of the luxury food is retained on the one hand, while after pouring the brewing agent, when the brewing agent drains in the container

However, very small negative pressure reduces the exit speed of the supply and thus increases the residence time.
