Abstract
Compns. contng. 4-halopyridines or 4-halopyridine N-oxides (or salts thereof). X = Cl or Br. mixed with, or dissolved or dispersed in, solid or liquid carriers, possibly in combination with dispersion agents. - The compns. are active against plant-parasitic nematodes such as Meloidogyne and Heterodera species. 4-Chloro-pyridine N-oxide is also active against non-parasitic nematodes such as Pratylenchus and Rotylenchus species. This cpd. is also active against the ovum stage of Meloidogyne. - 4-Chloro-pyridine N-oxide is little phytotoxic both with regards to the above-soil parts and the sub-soil parts of the plants.
