Endlos-Tonbandkassette

Fig. 2) auf den Auflageteller 3 gesetzt. Fig. 3 und 4) umspannt wird.
Fig. 2) kann beginnen.
Fig. 6).
Fig. 8 und 13).

Continuous tape cassette
The invention relates to an endless audio tape cassette which, as is known, is used for uninterrupted playback of recordings stored thereon as often as desired. A well-known field of application of such endless tapes are the announcement services of the Federal Post Office.
Endless audio tapes are also used on a larger scale for advertising and learning purposes, as well as for generating noises for pest control.
Both the recording of programs on endless tapes and their playback are associated with particular difficulties compared to the recording and playback of such programs from simple tapes, which essentially result from the fact that the running end of the tape loop running onto the same reel is divided into sections with different peripheral speeds belong. The circumferential speed of that section of the tape reel from which the tape loop runs off (innermost turn of the tape reel) is much lower than the circumferential speed of that section of the tape reel in which the tape loop enters after passing the tape head, since the diameter of the outer coil turn is greater than is that of the innermost coil turn.
This deviation in the peripheral speed would make it impossible to rotate the belt disk.
For example, the endless tapes, which are stored in commercially available cassettes, are additionally provided with a sliding coating on both sides, which enables the individual turns of the endless tape to slide together continuously. A disadvantage of this known endless tape cassette, however, is that the once fixed length of the same can no longer be changed and when using the usual, standardized running speeds of the tape recorders is bound to certain fixed recording or playback times. It requires a considerable technical effort to modify an endless tape reel stored in the usual way so that an extended or shortened time program can be recorded or played back.
In addition, the known sliding coating of endless tapes often causes undesirable deposits in the tape head, which would impair the function of the tape recorder or even render it unusable.
The invention is based on the object of creating an endless audio tape cassette which allows the use of a simple audio tape material without any special treatment. Furthermore, the cassette according to the invention should enable an endless tape to be rolled up and produced on the right-hand side of a normal tape recorder from a tape running from a simple tape reel without any difficult operations. Furthermore, the endless tapes should be made interchangeable so that they can be cataloged in files.
The subject of the invention is a cassette of the type described at the beginning. According to the invention, this has a lockable rotary ball bearing, the outer roller of which is designed as a support plate, which carries an exchangeable belt plate, on the hollow center pin of which a removable toroidal core is clamped, the outer wall of which is concave upwardly bulging and is used to receive a spiral spring washer as required, the band plate being covered by a closure cap.
According to a preferred embodiment, the rotary ball bearing for the purpose of winding the tape can be locked by a pin engaging the support plate, the other end of which is supported on an annular spring surrounding the inner roller.
The cassette constructed in this way also enables a user who has no manual skills, with a few movements of a simple tape reel, which lies in the usual way on the left turntable of a tape recorder (while the endless tape cassette is on the right drive plate), a Unwind section of the desired length of the endless tape and at the same time rewind the toroidal core, which is equipped with a spiral spring ring, so that only the beginning and end of the tape have to be glued together, after which the endless tape is completed.
For better understanding, an embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows:
1 shows the cross section of a rotary ball bearing of a cassette in a blocked position with a cover plate attached,
2 shows a cross section of a band plate with an attached toroidal core and a spiral spring ring,
3 shows a section along the line 111-111 according to FIG. 2 with the beginning of the tape clamped between the toroidal core and the spiral spring ring,

13 is a top view of a complete cassette;
14 shows the top view of a spring clip and
15 shows the side view of the spring clip according to FIG. 14.
According to Fig. 1, the rotary ball bearing 1 consists of the inner roller 2, the outer roller designed as a support plate 3 and the ball bearings 4. This rotary ball bearing 1 is in the same way with its central opening, not shown here, like a normal tape reel on the right, set here also not shown bearing pin of a tape recorder, not shown.
In order to wind up an endless tape, the tape plate 5 (see FIG. 2) is then placed on the support plate 3. The hollow center pin 6 of the belt plate 5 carries the toroidal core 7, which in turn is spanned by the spiral spring ring 8 (see FIGS. 3 and 4).
The tape 9 (see Fig. 3 and 4) is now connected to the tape platter 5 in such a way that the free end of the tape 9 is inserted into the free gap created in this way after a local lifting of the spiral spring ring 8 from the toroidal core 7 and then the spiral spring ring 8 is released. This therefore springs back and clamps the inserted end of the tape between two turns. Before rolling up the tape 9, a few revolutions of the tape plate are now carried out by hand because the part of the tape emerging directly from the spiral spring ring 8 has the tendency to slide upward on the spiral spring ring 8.
Thus, the tape 9 is securely attached to the tape platter 5, on the hollow center pin 6 of which the toroidal core 7 is attached in any way (a particularly advantageous type of attachment is explained with reference to FIGS. 7 to 10). In order to be able to wind up the tape 9 coming from a normal tape reel, not shown, by switching on the tape recorder, it must be ensured that the rotary ball bearing 1, whose inner roller 2, as already mentioned, is on the journal of the driven one on the right side of the tape recorder located device plate sits, blocked in order to then be able to transfer the drive exactly and loosely by means of a slip clutch between the tape plate 5 and the support plate 3.
The rotary ball bearing 1 is blocked in a simple manner in that a pin 11 is inserted into the support plate 3 and in this position is supported on the protruding tabs 12 of the Seeger ring 13. This Seeger ring 13 is required anyway to hold the inner roller 2 and the support plate 3, which together with the ball bearings 4 form the rotary ball bearing 1.
Now the rotary ball bearing 1 is prevented from any independent rotation and the winding of the tape 9 onto the tape platter 5 (see FIG. 2) can begin.
In order to prevent this tape 9 from being wound up tightly and instead to obtain loose tape windings, as are required for the operation of an endless tape, the inner diameter of the hollow center pin 6 of the palm 5 and the outer diameter of the cylindrical center part of the support plate 3 are dimensioned accordingly ensured that the tape platter 5 slips under the tensile load that results from the torque of the tape (slip clutch). If, in one case or another, a greater or lesser slip between the tape platter 5 and the support plate 3 rotating at the speed of the tape recorder is desired, the given friction conditions can easily be achieved by inserting intermediate layers that reduce the friction between the support plate 3 and the tape platter 5 influence in the desired sense, change.
The tape 9 thus wound on the right side of the tape recorder can be recorded simultaneously with the desired repetition program during the winding process described. After the end of the recording or after a desired length of tape has been wound up, the audio tape 9 is cut off. The cover plate 14, which was put on in order to avoid individual turns from jumping out, and which is also put on for this reason when the tape is played, is then removed.
The pin 11 is then pulled out and the toroidal core 7 removed, the spiral spring ring 8 jumping off and releasing the end of the tape. After lifting out a few turns, the toroidal core 7 is put back on, but this time without a spiral spring ring 8. Before the tape ends are glued, the cover plate 14 must be put on. The end of the tape is now glued to the beginning of the tape. Now the endless tape 9 is completed and can either be removed and stored in a card index, or, after a cap 24, which will be explained later, has been put on and the complete cassette has been placed on the left turntable of the tape recorder, played back immediately.
For the cataloged filing, a tape (not shown), expediently a rubber office ring, is first pushed into the diametrically opposed, inclined incisions 15 and 16 or 17 and 18 of the tape plate 5 and over the endless tape 9 that is still on the tape plate 5 , which has previously been lifted out, tensioned so that the tape 9 is securely held.
In this context, the connection between the toroidal core 7 and the hollow center pin 6 of the belt disk 5 must be explained. It has already been mentioned that this connection can be used in any manner, e.g. B. as a screw connection or bayonet lock u. Like. Can be formed. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 6, 7, 9 and 10, however, a clamp connection that is particularly easy to produce and handle is shown. The hollow center pin 19 of the belt plate 5 has a flat surface 20 at one point on its otherwise cylindrical circumference (see FIG. 6). The inner diameter of the toroidal core 21 according to FIGS. 7 and 10 is somewhat larger than the outer diameter of the hollow central pin 19.
A projection 22 is located on the inner bore wall 23 of the toroidal core 21. For the purpose of fastening the toroidal core 21 on the hollow center pin 19, this toroidal core 21 is fitted in such a way that its projection 22 is exactly opposite the flat area 20. Since the inner diameter of the toroidal core 21 is larger than the outer diameter of the hollow center pin 19, this toroidal core 21 can easily be rotated to one side or the other when attached, until its projection 22 has moved past the flat 20 and up the cylindrical part of the circumference of the hollow center pin 19 meets.
The thickness of the projection 22 is now dimensioned so that the projection 22 at the said transition point between the flattening 20 and the cylindrical circumference causes a clamping that secures the toroidal core 21 both against further rotation and against being pulled upwards. - If the toroidal core 21 is to be released, it only needs to be rotated in the opposite direction. The clamping is thereby released again, the projection 22 is then again directly in front of the flattened area 20 and the toroidal core 21 can be pulled off upwards without any particular expenditure of force.
After, as already mentioned, the toroidal core 7 or
21 has been placed on the hollow center pin 6 or 19 without the spiral spring washer 8, the inner tape windings have a correspondingly large distance from the toroidal core 7 or 21. This means that the windings of the endless tape 9 lie loosely next to one another in the inner area, the friction between them is reduced and the innermost turns are used one after the other on the toroidal core 7 and 21, respectively. The endless tape 9 exits during playback through the exit slot 25 of the closure cap 24 and enters through the entry slot 26 of the same (see FIGS. 8 and 13). Within the cassette, the endless tape 9 assumes the position shown in FIG. 13, shown in dashed lines, while the tape is pulled past the tape head when the tape recorder is switched on.
It is useful to fix the closure cap 24 by placing a clamping spring 27 on the tubular part of the inner roller 2 protruding from the top of the attached closure cap 24, as shown in FIG. 14 from above and in FIG. 15 from the side see is.
The shape of the outer wall of the toroidal core 7 or
As shown in FIGS. 2, 7 and in particular 11, 21 has also been improved compared to the previously customary form. Up to now, a toroidal core has always been shaped conically in order to ensure that the innermost band winding in each case migrates during the rotation of the toroidal core in its zones of higher circumferential speed, i.e. upwards, so that the band run out as continuously as possible. Here, however, the simple cone that has been customary up to now is replaced by an outer wall 28 with a concave profile. It has been shown that the respective inner tape winding on such an outer wall 28 slides upwards more easily and more evenly, as a result of which the tape unwinding is improved.
A further increase in the quality of the Bland runoff in the sense of complete freedom from jolts is achieved in that one or more, in the illustrated embodiment, according to FIG.
11 there are three circumferential recesses 29 of which are arranged.
Stabilization of the loop shape of the endless tape 9 is also achieved by the concentric, sawtooth-shaped grooves 30 in cross section (see FIG. 6) within the surface 31 of the tape disk 5 supporting the tape 9. These grooves 30 give the tape loop a hold when the endless tape 9 is running, in order to reduce the friction of the outer windings on the inner wall 32 of the closure cap 24.
The diameter of the band plate 5 must in any case be larger than that of the closure cap 24 in order to prevent the band windings from slipping out.
The endless tape cassette according to the invention therefore offers the following significant advantages over the endless tape cassettes that have become known to date:
1. With this endless tape cassette, endless tapes 9 can be reeled in the required length for the first time, with this same cassette being made ready for unwinding the tape 9 by simply converting and relocating the entire cassette to the left side of the tape recorder.
2. The finished endless tape 9 can be removed from the endless tape cassette either alone or together with the tape platter 5 in order to be stored in cataloged form.
3. In view of the extraordinarily simple winding of the endless tape 9, there are no difficulties in separating an endless tape 9 used within the endless tape cassette according to the invention at the splice and winding it onto an ordinary tape reel in order to reduce storage costs.
