Device to limit the alarm time in electric alarm clocks
The invention relates to a device for limiting the alarm time in electric alarm clocks with a control shaft which is displaceable in the longitudinal direction and is urged by an elastic member against a stop connected to the alarm triggering device and which is provided with at least two arms, a control arm and a contact arm which the control arm can be brought into engagement with a drive wheel of the clockwork by longitudinal displacement, while the contact arm is moved via an electrical contact device, a holding element being provided which holds the control shaft with its arms after the pivoting of the contact arm over the contact device in a predetermined angular position .

While with the Federzag alarm clocks the alarm stops automatically if the stopper is not actuated because the spring force accumulator is exhausted after a relatively short time, electrical alarm clocks require a special short-time switch because the mechanical alarm triggering device takes about 30 to 45 minutes to return the release parts to their original position.

An alarm clock with an electrical signal system is known, which consists of a signal mechanism that can be actuated by means of a triggering device and generates several signals in succession, which also contains a control shaft which is pivotable about an axis and is provided with two arms which also have a drive plate which is arranged in the gear train of a clock and on which the first of said arms is supported under the action of an elastic element. One of the arms engages in the drive plate and is pivoted by it until it has reached the peripheral area of the plate. In this area, the control arm remains in contact with the drive plate until the control shaft is raised again. As a result, the drive is loaded for a long time, which has a detrimental effect on the speed of the movement.

Furthermore, an electric alarm clock is known which contains a device by means of which a control sleeve only temporarily engages a drive wheel. Here, an elastic force is also exerted on the control disk, but this elastic force constantly acts on the control sleeve.

The known device also requires a very complicated construction of a control sleeve with a recess provided with control edges through which the control sleeve can be pivoted back into its starting position. In addition, a special holding device must be provided in the known device, which produces a latching with a toothed segment, which must be released again at the time of waking up.

The invention is based on the object of creating a device for limiting the wake-up time in electrical alarm clocks of the type mentioned at the outset, which has a particularly simple structure and operates reliably. According to the invention, this is achieved in that in the end region of the pivoting path of an arm connected to the control shaft there is a stationary arm. an elastic force exerting an elastic force is provided on the arm, which holds the arm just before the end of its pivoting range and pivots it out of engagement with the associated drive wheel.

In a preferred embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, a holding magnet is provided which interacts with a holding arm serving as an anchor on the control shaft or the contact arm or the control arm itself. If, as is known per se, the control shaft is arranged axially parallel or coaxially to the alarm clock release shaft and is provided with a control arm which engages with axial drive cams, lifting nails or the like on the associated gear wheel, the holding magnet designed as a permanent magnet and the holding magnet with it cooperating anchor part on the holding arm in the direction of displacement of the Steunvelle are designed to be narrower than the depth of engagement of their control arm.

Instead of moving the control shaft axially in order to bring about the engagement of the control arm in the drive wheel of the Uhnverkes, the control shaft can be displaced transversely to its longitudinal axis, preferably pivotably mounted in the clockwork frame and provided with an extension with which it cooperates with a deflecting bevel on the alarm tension spring The control arm is provided with a face-toothed engaging segment and a holding arm is provided on the control shaft, to which a holding magnet arranged on the connecting line of the pivot points of the gear wheel and the control shaft is assigned.

In such an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, the spring returning the control shaft to its starting angular position is expediently arranged and designed, preferably as a spiral spring, to exert a moment returning the control shaft to its axis-parallel position to the shaft of the associated gear wheel.

Finally, instead of an intercepting holding magnet, a mechanical device can be provided by attaching contact and locking surfaces to a locking arm that is rotationally fixed to the control shaft or to the contact arm or to the control arm itself and to a local locking spring in such a way that the locking arm or contact arm is attached or grasp the control arm with the gear wheel shortly before the control arm disengages, guide it beyond the drop point of the control arm on the gear wheel in the disengaged position and then lock it.

Fig.

12 and 13 a second variant of the third exemplary embodiment in the same representation as FIGS. 10 and 11.

In the first embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 1, 10 and 11 designate two work plates of the clockwork frame; one recognizes in front of the work plate 11 the conventionally constructed alarm triggering device, namely the hour wheel 12 with dropping nose 1 2a and the alarm hand wheel 13, which is provided with an opening for the dropping of the nose 1 2a when the alarm is triggered, and also the alarm tension spring 14.

The shaft 15a is mounted between the work plates 10 and 11; it carries the Hebnägelrad 15 and receives its drive from a wheel 16, which is only indicated in the drawing, belonging to the walking gear via the gear drive 15b.

The control shaft 16 is mounted in the clockwork frame parallel to the shaft 15a; their pins 1 6a and 16b are elongated and the shaft is mounted displaceably in the axial direction. The control shaft 16 carries a control arm 16c which can be brought into engagement with the lifting nails of the wheel 15 with an angled tab 16c '. The control arm 16c is made in one piece with another arm, the holding arm 16d, the lobe-shaped end 16d 'of which is intended to act as an anchor with the permanent holding magnet 17 fixed to the work plate 10, as will be described in more detail below. The control shaft 16 also carries a contact arm 16e, the task of which is to actuate the local wake-up contact 18.

The bell is indicated at 19, the battery at 20 and an additional manual switch at 21 in order to be able to switch off the triggered signal prematurely. A tongue 18a 'is bent at an angle to the one spring 18a of the contact 18; it interacts with a toothing 16e 'on the contact arm 16e in such a way that the individual teeth, acting as control cams, close the contact 18. while after a tooth has passed, the contact spring tongue 18a 'falls into a tooth gap and the contact is thereby opened again. This creates the interrupted alarm signal known from mechanical so-called repeating alarm clocks. The three pointed teeth at the beginning of the toothing 16e 'cause short signals, while the last wide tooth emits a longer lasting signal, the skin signal, and the whole thing lasts about 20 to 30 seconds.

In the standby position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the contact arm 16e rests against a local stop pin 22. under the action of the return spring 23, which is connected to the control shaft 16 in a rotationally fixed manner by means of the roller 23 a and is pinned to a block 24 of the work plate 11 at the other end.

It can also be seen from FIGS. 2 and 4 of the drawing that the spiral spring 23 is pretensioned perpendicular to its spiral plane in the standby position, i. H. endeavors to advance the control shaft 16 in the direction of the alarm tension spring 14.

The task of the holding magnet 17 in cooperation with the holding arm 16d is to drive the control shaft 16 and thus its control arm 16c / 16c 'at the end of the wake-up signal, i.e. H. when the contact spring tongue 18a 'has slid over the last, wide tooth on the contact arm 16e, to intercept it and to hold it in a position which is beyond the point of fall of the control tab 16c' on one of the lifting nails of the wheel 15; (Fig. 3); so that it is ensured that outside of the wake-up function, the control arm 16c does not drag on the lever nails of the wheel 15 and thereby brakes the walking gear.

The device according to the invention acts, described in context, as follows: Before the wake-up time (FIGS. 1 and 2) occurs, the parts 12, 13, 14, 16 are in the ready position; d. H. the catch tongue 1 2a still rests on the full part of the wheel disc of the alarm hand wheel 8 and the wheel 12 (FIG. 2) holds the alarm tension spring 14 in the up position, but also the control shaft 16, so that the control arm 16c and the tab 16c 'still Stand above the tips of the lifting nails on the gear wheel 15. The return spring 23 holds the contact arm 16e of the control shaft on the stop pin 22, i. H. in a position in which the first tooth of the toothing 16e '(in the projection; FIG. 1) is still in front of the contact spring tongue 18a'.

The holding arm 16d is also still at a great distance from the holding magnet 17, so that a noticeable torque cannot be exerted by this on the control shaft.

When the wake-up time occurs, the alarm trigger nose 12a falls into the cutout 13a on the alarm setting wheel 13 under the action of the alarm tension spring 14 pushing the hour wheel 12 and the control shaft 16 follows this movement under the action of its return spring 23 (Fig. 4) until it stops at the control shaft mouth 1 6f on the work plate 11.

As a result of this displacement movement, the control tab 16c 'on the control shaft 16 engages the lifting nails on the gear wheel 15 and when it is rotated in the direction of the arrow, the lifting nails take the control arm 16c and with it the control shaft 16 by a certain angular amount that is so large that the toothing 16e 'on the contact arm 16e wanders past the contact spring tongue 18a', actuates the contact accordingly and after it wanders past, d. H.

the falling of the spring tongue 18a 'at the edge of the last wide tooth of the contact arm 16e, the falling of the control tab 16c' on the lifting nail in such a position that the anchor part 16d 'of the holding arm 16d is already in such proximity to the holding magnet 17 is located that the latter can fully tighten the adhesive arm and thereby pivot the control shaft 16 by an additional piece, the waste edge of the control pad 1 6c then being moved so far away from the tip circle of the lifting nails that outside the wake-up time, undesired contact is no longer to be expected is.

The signaling is thus ended, so that in the short time provided for the signaling of approximately 30 seconds, practically no change has yet occurred on the alarm clock triggering device 12/13. Rather, as is known, a period of 30 to 45 minutes is required for this. Until this time has elapsed, the control shaft remains in the position shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. Only when the hour wheel 12 is returned to the standby position shown in FIG. 2 is the control shaft 16 pushed back axially via the alarm spring 14.

During this movement, the armature part 16d 'of the holding arm slides over the face of the permanent magnet 17 and, as soon as the magnet and armature are out of action, the return spring 23 is able to return the control shaft to its starting position (FIG. 1), i.e. H. into the position in which the contact arm 16c rests on the stop pin 22. The functional sequence described can now be repeated the next time the alarm clock is triggered.

It is not absolutely necessary for the holding arm 16d 'to bear directly on the holding magnet 17. A small air gap could also remain in which, for example, the adhesive arm 16d is brought up to a local stop or a brass pin is pressed into the anchor part 16d ', as is usual with bell anchors.

Furthermore, without deviating from the inventive concept, it is possible to manufacture all arms 16c, 16d, 16e of the control shaft 16 in one piece, for example to punch and bend them from sheet metal. The holding magnet 17 can also be attached to the holding arm 16d, or magnets can be attached to the two interacting adhesive parts. The spiral return spring 23 could be replaced by a simple bar spring which exerts an axial and at the same time a torque on the control shaft 16. Instead of the spring action, use could also be made of a shift in the center of gravity or of magnetic forces both for the axial displacement and for the rotary movement.

Instead of the Hebnägelrades 15 a plastic wheel with molded driver cam wires or the control arm 16c could have a segment toothing with which it engages directly in the toothing of the gear wheel 15. The usual small third wheel, fourth wheel or another gear element of the movement could be used as such a gear wheel. The control shaft 16 could also be axially displaced directly by the hour wheel 12, in which case the control shaft 16 would have to be moved closer to the axis of the pointer mechanism. In this case, instead of the alarm tension spring 9, a wire winding spring with pretension would be used between the hour wheel 12 and the work plate 11.

This or the alarm tension spring 14 only has to be dimensioned so strongly that the force of the spiral spring 6 is overcome in the axial direction and the holding arm 16d ′ can detach itself from the permanent magnet 17. After the hour wheel 12 drops when the alarm clock is triggered, the spiral spring 23 must be able to bring the control shaft 16 with its control arm 16c into engagement with the lever pin wheel 15. Furthermore, the spiral spring 23 must be able to exert such a torque on the control shaft 16 that it is able to turn it back into the ready position (FIGS. 1 and 2) when the adhesion of the holding arm 16d to the holding magnet 17 is canceled.

The contact arm 16e and the contact 18 could also be designed in such a way that the part 16e as a wiping contact wipes over a contact plate with a contact path interrupted by insulating parts.

The second exemplary embodiment (FIGS. 5 to 9) differs from the first exemplary embodiment in that the control shaft is not additionally arranged and designed to be axially displaceable but rather transversely.

The same functional parts as in the first exemplary embodiment (FIGS. 1 to 4) are denoted by the same reference numerals and their description is not repeated here. In place of the Hebnägelrades 15 in the first embodiment, the gear wheel 50 is now rotated. The control shaft 51, which is pivotable in the works plates 52 and 53 (FIGS. 6 and 8) and at the same time is rotatably mounted, cooperates with it. For this purpose, the lower extended shaft journal 51a is mounted in an elongated slot 53a of the work plate 53, the direction of the slot being on the line connecting the pivot points of the gear wheel 50 and the shaft 51. The upper bearing 52a for the control shaft 51 is designed accordingly in order to allow the shaft 51 to pivot.

The shaft 51 carries a control arm 51 a with control teeth 51 a ', with which it can come into engagement with the teeth of the wheel 50, as will be described, and a contact arm 51 b with interrupter teeth 51 b', finally a holding arm 51 c, which in Trapped position of the local permanent magnet 54 is intercepted. Like the work plate slot 53a, this is located on the connecting line of the pivot points of the gear wheel 50 and the control shaft 51. The contact toothing 51b 'on the contact arm 51b is expediently designed in the manner of a crown wheel toothing; it cooperates with the tongue 18a 'which is bent at an angle to the contact spring 18a.

This training is recommended because, when pivoting outward, the toothing must lift off from the contact spring tongue 18a '. With normal function of the alarm clock control, one could manage with a simple toothing (1 each ') as in the first exemplary embodiment. When setting the pointer during the contact process, however, when the contact spring tongue 18a 'is in engagement with the toothing 16e' (FIGS. 1 to 4), the case could arise that the toothing jammed with the spring tongue.

The control shaft 51 is again under the action of a return spiral spring 55, which is pinned with its inner end to the control shaft and with its outer end at 56 to the work plate 53. The spring 55 is dimensioned and pretensioned in such a way that it is able to turn the control shaft back into its starting position (ready position, FIGS. 8 and 9) and at the same time the shaft from its inclined position (FIG. 8) into its operative position (FIGS. 5 and 6 ) to pan.

In order to control the control shaft from its one end position in the standby position (FIG. 8) into its active position (FIG. 6), a ramp 57a is bent to the alarm tension spring 57, which cooperates with the extended shaft journal 51a of the control shaft 51 in such a way that in the standby position (FIG. 8) the ramp 57a holds the control shaft 51 in an inclined position pivoted against the action of the return spring 55. In this inclined position, the control arm toothing 51 a 'is out of engagement with the Gehwerkrad 50 and the Kentaktstouorverzahnlg 5 ob' out of the active area of the contact spring tongue 18 a '.

The armature part 51c ′ is also located on the holding arm 51c outside the effective area of the holding magnet 54.

The mode of operation of the arrangement is as follows: In the standby position (FIGS. 8 and 9) the hour wheel 12, which has not yet fallen into the alarm setting wheel 13, supports the alarm tension spring 57 so that the ramp 57a via the control shaft extension 51a tilts the control shaft 51, i.e. H. out of engagement with the drive wheel 50 of the walking mechanism and the contact 18 holds. The holding arm 51c is also outside the effective range of the holding magnet 54. If the alarm trigger nose 12a now falls into the alarm setting wheel 13 (Fig. 6), which happens under the action of the pretensioned alarm tension spring 57a, the ramp 57a is shifted so far away from the control shaft end 51a that the return spring 55 can pivot the control shaft 51 in a parallel position (FIG. 6) to the shaft of the gear wheel 50.

As a result, the control arm toothing 51a 'engages with the wheel 50 (Fig. 5 ge dashed position and Fig. 6), at the same time the contact control toothing 51b' comes to the first tooth in front of the contact spring tongue 18a '; (Fig. 5 and 7 positions shown in dashed lines). The movement now takes the control arm 51 with it via the wheel 50; (Fig. 5 from the position shown in dashed lines in the drawn in full lines, pivoting counterclockwise), the contact 18 is operated intermittently until the last wide tooth is passed over the contact spring tongue 18a. The holding arm 51c comes so close to the holding magnet 54 that it is strong enough to pull the holding arm completely into the holding position (Fig.

5), the control shaft 51 also undergoes such additional pivoting that the control toothing 51 a 'is reliably guided out of the contact area with the toothing of the gear wheel 50; (Figures 5 and 7).

Some time after the alarm, when the alarm release device 12, 12a, 13, 57 returns to its original position, the alarm tension spring ramp 57a attaches itself to the control shaft end 51a and leads the control shaft 51 back into place, releasing the magnetic adhesion 54 / 51c, 51c ' the ready position (Fig.

  8) back.
