Removable water heater
The present invention relates to a water heater and its purpose is to allow the production of devices of this type which can be easily assembled and dismantled, which facilitates their transport, their installation, their revision and, if necessary, their repair. Indeed, these devices being often placed against a wall located in a very frequented room, such as a kitchen or a bathroom, they must have an aesthetic and neat appearance. These water heaters must therefore be painted and their exterior cladding in good condition. However, it often happens that, during transport and assembly, the outer casing of conventional water heaters is damaged or deteriorated, which often necessitates the return to the factory of the complete conventional device.
The water heater according to the invention is equipped with an outer jacket carrying thermal insulation, a lightweight and easily removable jacket. I1 can therefore be transported and mounted separately from the heavy water tank.
The subject of the invention is a water heater comprising a water storage tank, a heating body, the tank being enveloped in thermal insulation surrounded by an outer jacket comprising in particular two end bottoms, characterized in that the side wall of the outer mantle consists of at least three removable elements.
This arrangement also makes it possible to simplify the manufacturing and assembly operations.
Indeed, if the tank remains conventional, the manufacture of the outer mantle is simplified, since the end bottoms can be formed by flat walls, and the side walls by elements whose general shape is flat or convex, the ends being folded over on themselves to form a longitudinal rib. The application of the insulation is also facilitated, since it suffices to coat the interior surfaces of the elements constituting the side wall with an insulating thermal blanket, for example such as glass wool, stone, cork, synthetic materials , polyurethane, etc.
The accompanying drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, various embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows an electric water heater arranged vertically, seen in elevation, the accumulation tank being fixed against the wall.
Fig. 2 shows the same water heater as in fig.
1, seen in plan, the side wall consisting of four elements, three of which are curved.
Fig. 3 shows an electric water heater seen in elevation, the storage tank of which is carried by means of one of the elements constituting the side wall, which element is fixed against the wall.
Fig. 4 shows the same water heater as in FIG. 3, seen in plan, the execution being polygonal.
Fig. 5 shows a gas water heater seen in elevation.
Fig. 6 shows, seen in plan, the same water heater as in FIG. 5, the execution being cylindrical.
The water heater consists of a storage tank 1 connected by water pipes, not shown in the drawing.
The heating body 2 is placed at the bottom of the tank see 1. In the case of the electrically heated version according to fig. 1, 2, 3, 4, it consists of an electrical resistance housed in a sealed capsule immersed in the water to be heated.
In the case of fig. 1, the tank 1 is carried by the wall, respectively the wall, the partition, against which the apparatus is mounted, or directly by means of a fixing device 14 and a support 15 sealed in the wall. But, in the case of FIG. 3, it is carried indirectly by means of a support device S fixed to a side wall which, in turn, is fixed against the wall at one or more points, for example by seals 16.
The tank 1 is surrounded by an insulating jacket 6 limiting the heat loss to the outside. This mantle practically completely surrounds the tank 1, it can be made in several parts.
To avoid any deterioration of the insulating jacket, the latter is surrounded by an outer jacket consisting mainly of two funds, one upper 8, the other lower 9 and a side envelope 7 made in four removable parts. Instead of planning it in four parts, it is obvious that it would have been possible to do it in three, five parts, or even more.
On the other hand, the shape of these elements can vary a lot; in fact, FIG. 2 shows curved elements, FIG. 4 of the faceted elements, FIG. 6 elements in a circular arc. Other forms of execution remain possible. Finally, the end of each element is folded back on itself, forming an edge 25 to constitute a longitudinal rib 26, the presence of which substantially increases the rigidity.
The tank 1 comprises an element 17 located at the upper part, allowing the upper bottom 8 to be fixed. This fixing is generally carried out by means of at least two metal parts, separated from one another by an element. connecting the tank 1 to the thermally insulating bottom 8, thus avoiding the formation of a heat bridge.
Likewise, the lower bottom is fixed to the tank by means of parts, spacers 18 also having thermal insulation.
The elements constituting the side wall can be fixed in different ways, to one or both end bottoms: for example to the upper part by simple hooks 19 integral with the side wall elements, hooks penetrating into corresponding holes 20 , provided in the upper bottom 8, while at the lower part a lug 21 penetrates an orifice 22. It is obvious that instead of hooks and lug, other methods of attachment remain possible, for example screws, staples and other parts.
To assemble the water heater, after having fixed the water tank against the wall and made all the necessary connections, it suffices to assemble the end caps 8 and 9, and, at the last moment, to hang the constituent elements the side walls 10, 11, 12, 13. The thermal insulation jacket also being divided into several parts and fixed to the elements of the side wall, it is therefore mounted at the same time as it. It is obvious that the assembly of the water heater of FIG. 3 is done somewhat differently from that of FIG. 1, since one of the side walls, the wall 10, the backbone, is fixed to the wall and carries the water accumulation tank 1.
The figures show two different possibilities of access to the heating body. In the executions according to fig. 1 and 3, access is via an orifice 23 made in the lower base of the water heater, the electrical connection passing through the insulating jacket 6, while, in the execution according to FIG. 5, this access is via a cover 24 placed at the base of the water heater.
In the above description, mention was made of the fact that the elements constituting the side wall were fixed to the bottoms of the water heater; it is obvious that they can also be attached to each other.
On the other hand, the water heaters described are equipped with electric and gas heating. Other means are applicable, for example a coil crossed by overheated water.
