Fig. 1 die Fadenbremse in Vorderansicht,
Fig. 2 einen Schnitt gemäss Linie A-A in Figur 1,
Fig. 4 einen Schnitt gemäss Linie B-B in Figur 3.

The invention relates to a thread brake for textile machines with a disk-shaped eddy current conductor rotating in the air gap of a stationary magnet.
Thread brakes based on the use of eddy current systems with permanent magnets or electromagnets are known. Since in such eddy current systems the braking force and thus the braking torque are proportional to the relative speed between the two-dimensional eddy current conductor and the magnet, such a thread brake has practically no braking torque at standstill and in the start-up stage. This fact has an adverse effect in cases where it is necessary to keep the thread permanently under a certain tension.
The aim of the invention is to create an eddy current thread brake by means of which the mentioned deficiency of the known thread brakes of this type is eliminated. The thread brake according to the invention is characterized in that a centrifugal clutch is provided which is in frictional connection with a stationary central pin and which is coupled to the circumferential carrier of the eddy current conductor mounted on the pin.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 the thread brake in front view,
FIG. 2 shows a section along line A-A in FIG. 1,
3 shows a detail of FIG. 2 in an enlarged representation,
FIG. 4 shows a section along line B-B in FIG. 3.
The yoke 3 and the iron core 4 of an electromagnet, the exciter winding of which is denoted by 6, are screwed onto the support plate 7. In the middle of the support plate, a fixed bolt 9 is also mounted, on which a bearing housing 10 with the support disk 18 and the deep groove ball bearings 13 separated by the spacer sleeve 12 are rotatably arranged. On the housing 10 sits a hub 11 made of plastic, on which the thread drive disk 1 is attached. The thread guide ring 2 made of plastic is also screwed tightly to the yoke 3 of the electromagnet. The aluminum disc 5, which is firmly anchored in the housing 10 and serves as an eddy current conductor, is arranged in the air gap of the electromagnet.
As can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, two semi-ring-shaped weights 17, 17 ′ which encompass this and which form the two halves of the centrifugal clutch 8 are arranged in the bearing housing 10 on the bolt 9. With the aid of the annular spring 16, they are brought into frictional connection with the part of the bolt 9 provided with the plastic friction lining 15. The centrifugal weights 17, 17 'are coupled to the encircling housing 10 and the driver disk 1 and the eddy current disk 5 fastened thereon via the driver pins 14, 14 ′ firmly anchored in the bearing housing 10.
When the thread brake is put into operation, the thread 19 is inserted into the thread drive disk 1 with the help of the thread guide ring 2, which keeps it slip-free. In the start-up stage, the braking function is entirely taken over by the centrifugal clutch, whereby a thread tensile force of about 10 p can be obtained by friction between the bolt 9 and the clutch 17, 17 '. The coupling halves 17, 17 'and the annular spring 16 are dimensioned in such a way that the coupling opens at approx. 700 revolutions per minute as a result of the centrifugal force, whereupon the braking function is taken over solely by the eddy current conductor.
The thread brake according to the invention is particularly suitable for use on winding machines, twisting machines, false twisting and separating twisting machines, and circular and flat knitting machines and automatic circular knitting machines.
