Description

Funktionsablauf unwesentlichen Teile dargestellt.

The present invention relates to a device with an infusion pump with a pump piston displaceable in a pressure cylinder, a step or synchronous motor and a toothed rack driven by the motor or a push rod driven by the motor via a threaded spindle for advancing the piston.

Infusion pumps of this type are known per se.

A motor, usually a stepper motor, drives a threaded spindle via a transmission, which acts on a push rod by means of a hitch and moves it, or a rack is driven, the push rod or rack being connected to the piston of the pump. In most cases, means are already available to prevent overloading of the motor when the coupling on the threaded spindle has reached an end position or a certain stop or the pump piston or the toothed rod is blocked. For this purpose, the motor and threaded spindle or

Rack connected to one another by means of a slip clutch. Such an arrangement can, however, only be described as imperfect, since it only protects the motor from overload, but allows it to continue running, and furthermore, at the low feed speeds in question, it cannot be easily determined whether the entire device is still is working properly or whether just the engine is running.

A blockage of the piston advance for any reason, for example through a blockage of a line, can therefore remain undetected for a long time and thus under
Certain circumstances have serious consequences for the patient and of course also damage the device.

Therefore, it would be desirable if, on the one hand, immediately shut off the engine and, on the other hand, any, z. B. an optical or acoustic alarm signal would be triggered.

An object of the present invention is therefore to develop an improved device with an infusion pump which no longer has the disadvantages mentioned above.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a device with an infusion pump of the type mentioned, which is characterized in that it has an alarm device and is provided with means which switch off the motor and set the alarm device in motion when the advance of the push rod or rack is blocked .

An exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention with an infusion pump is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. 1 shows the block diagram of the inventive device with an infusion pump, FIG. 2 shows a detailed circuit diagram of the same, FIG. 3 shows a somewhat simplified representation of the mechanical structure of the inventive device with infusion pump and FIG in Fig. 3 designated line IV-IV.

In FIG. 1, a frequency-determining pulse generator 1 is followed by a pulse shaper and integrator 2, followed by two frequency dividers 3a and 3b. The diode logic 4 connected via the changeover switch 28 to the outputs of the pulse shaper and integrator 2 or one of the frequency divider 3a or 3b controls two flip-flops 5 and 6, wel che the transistor switches 7a, 7b and 8a, 8b operate. The alarm device 10 is connected in parallel to a winding of the stepping motor 9 and gives an alarm in the event of a power failure, failure of the control electronics or actuation of a limit switch. A synchronous motor could also be used instead of the stepper motor, but this would only allow a limited speed variation, whereas practically any speed can be set with the stepper motor.

Figures 2 and 2a show a special embodiment of the electronic part of the device. The pulse generator 1 works as an oscillator with the unijunction diode 11. The frequency-determining elements are the variable resistor 12 and the capacitor 13. The resistor 14 effects a current limitation and temperature stabilization. The pulses are picked up via the resistor 15 and fed to the pulse shaper 2 via the diode 16. There the transistors 17 and 18 with the resistors 19, 20, 21 and 22 and the capacitor 23 form a monostable multivibrator. The resistance 19th of the cords.

Sator 24 and the ammeter 25 together form the pulse integrator. Current pulses of a constant shape with a sequence corresponding to the generator frequency are passed through the resistor 19 to the capacitor 24 and the ammeter 25. which integrate the impulses. The diode 26 is used to stabilize the temperature of the frequency display. The square-wave pulses are fed to the frequency dividers 3a and 3b via the resistor 27. In the present example, it is about integrated decade coasters. With the changeover switch 28, either the base frequency or the by a factor of 10, respectively. 100 subdivided frequency are tapped and fed to the flip-flops 5 and 6 via the capacitors 31, 32, 33 and 34 and via the diode logic 4.

The diode logic 4 consists of the diodes 35, 36, 37 and 38 and the resistors 39, 40, 41 and 42. It has the effect that, depending on the bias voltages applied to the diodes, by the pulse generator resp. the positive pulses supplied to the frequency dividers alternately the flip-flop 5 or the flip-flop 6 is switched. The flip-flop 5 consists of the transistors 43 and 44 and of the resistors 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50. The flip-flop 6 has the same structure as 5 and consists of the transistors 51 and 52 as well as the resistors 53, 54, 55, 56, 57 and 58. The transistor switches 7a and 7b or 8a and 8b are connected via the collector voltage dividers 47 and 49 and 48 and 50 or 55 and 57 and 56 and 58. consisting of transistors 59 and 60 or 61 and 62 as well as diodes 63, 64 and

65, 66 controlled. One end of the winding of the stepper motor 9 is connected to a collector of the transistor switch 7a. 7b and 8a, 8b connected. namely at points A, B, C and D. The other ends of the windings come together at point E, so that the motor current from the positive pole of the motor power source via E and the motor windings to points A, B, C and D and to the Collectors of the switching transistors 59, 60, 61 and 62 and flows through the switch 67 to the negative pole of the motor power source. The diodes 63, 64, 65 and 66 have the task. short-circuit inductive switch-off peaks across the motor windings.

The alarm device 10 has two functions. First, it gives an alarm when the microswitch 67 is actuated. As a result, the capacitor 13 of the pulse generator is connected to ground. which means that no more impulses are generated and the engine is shut down. The current flowing through the motor windings can no longer flow through the switch 67, but must flow through the diode 68 and the transistor number 69 to the negative pole of the power supply. The transistor number 69 thereby gives an acoustic alarm signal. Instead of the transistor buzzer, any other sound generator could of course also be used.

The second function of the alarm device 10 is to monitor the functionality of the control electronics and the mains voltage. For this purpose, the square-wave pulses are fed to the capacitor 74 via the motor winding A-E through the capacitor 71, the diode 73 and the resistor 72. As a result, the latter is charged to a voltage which is more positive than that of the accumulator 79 located in the emitter line of transistor 78. This leads to the blocking of transistor 78. If the control electronics fail for any reason, e.g.

  B. also in the event of a power failure, the square-wave pulses across the winding AE are missing, the capacitor 74 is no longer charged, but discharges through the resistor 75 and the resistor 76 and the base-emitter path of the transistor 78, so that the voltage at the base becomes negative compared to that at the emitter. As a result, the pnp transistor 78 is conductive and thus the current of the accumulator 79 via the transistor 78, the transistor number 69 and the switch 67, respectively.

the diode 70 flow and trigger an alarm. The battery 79 is connected via the resistor 80 to the positive pole of the charging current source and is therefore continuously charged and always ready for use.

Power is supplied by a power supply unit 81, which consists of the mains transformer 82 with the mains switch 89 and two secondary windings, the two rectifier bridges 83 and 84, the two charging capacitors 85 and 86 and the resistor 87 and the Zener diode 88 as stabilizing elements. One rectifier bridge 83 supplies the operating current smoothed by the capacitor 85 for the stepper motor, while the other bridge 84 functions as a charging current source for the accumulator 79 and, after stabilization by the resistor 87 and the Zener diode 88, supplies the entire electronic device.

The great advantage of this circuit results from the fact that the frequency-determining elements of the pulse generator are not used at the same time to display the set Fre quency, but the frequency by a linear operating downstream of the generator
Pulse integrator is displayed. Of course, instead of a pulse generator with the ammeter, you could also use a digitally displaying pulse counter. This could increase the ease of use, but would have to accept a little more effort. The frequency is not roughly adjusted
Switching of frequency-determining elements, but by frequency dividers connected downstream of the generator. Since the pulse generator works only rich in its Grundbe, without switching for the coarse setting of the Fre quency.

The frequency changes caused by aging components in the generator cannot affect the
Effect calibration and the frequency display or speed display is linear.

One advantage of this circuit is, among other things, that the transistor number 69 emits two different tones, depending on whether it is activated by pressing the motor switch
67 or by failure of the motor voltage, since in each of the two cases a different operating voltage is applied to it. This enables the operator to immediately distinguish whether it is just a mechanical blockage or a failure of the mains voltage or the control electronics.

3 and 4, the mechanical structure of the Infu sion pump is somewhat simplified with the omission of the
Functional sequence of insignificant parts shown.

In a bearing and retaining bracket 101 and in a counter-bearing 102, an axle pin 103 is mounted and held in place by means of its enlarged head end 103a on the one hand and a counter nut 103b on the other. About the Achsbol zen 103 a threaded spindle 104 is brought coaxially and rotatably. It is not quite as long as the distance between the bearing 101 and the counter bearing 102. At the camp booth.

gel 101 a leaf spring 105 is attached, which is slightly against the
Counter-bearing 102 is inclined and has a through-hole through which the axle bolt 103 extends. This leaf spring 105 presses against the free end face of the threaded spindle and thus secures it against axial displacement. At the end facing the spring, the threaded spindle 104 has a concentric pinion 104a which is in engagement with a further pinion 106 which is driven by a motor 9 not shown in this figure.

The thread 104b of the threaded spindle 104 is in engagement with a coupling piece 107 which has two parts 107a and 107b and establishes the connection to the piston push rod 108. The two parts 107a and 107b lie laterally on the threaded spindle and are pressed against one another and against the spindle surface by means of a spring-loaded screw 107c. The part 107b has a nose 107d which engages in the thread and is rigidly connected to the piston push rod 108 by means of two screws.

The other part 107a, on the other hand, is fastened to the push rod by only one screw with play in such a way that it can be pivoted about its axis against the spring force of the spring-loaded screw 107c.

Conversely, it is possible by pivoting the push rod 108 to bring the part 107b with the nose 107d out of engagement with the thread 104b without losing contact with the threaded spindle 104, since the part 107a then still rests firmly. In this way, the piston push rod can be quickly moved into the desired starting position.

The end face of the push rod 108, which is enlarged in the shape of a plate, presses on the plunger 109 of the piston 110, which is slidably mounted in the pressure cylinder 111. The holder for the printing cylinder 111 is not shown in the drawing.

In the vicinity of the free end of the leaf spring 105, a microswitch 67 is attached to the bearing bracket 101, the loading actuating lever 67a of which is in contact with the free end of the leaf spring,
If for any reason, for example because of reaching the end position or because of a blockage in the line to be connected to the pressure cylinder, the piston and thus the push rod 108 or the coupling piece 107 is blocked in its longitudinal movement, the threaded spindle 104 shifts on the bearing bracket 101 against the force of the leaf spring 105, since the motor and thus also the spindle 104 continue to rotate. As a result, the free end of the leaf spring is pressed against the actuating lever of the microswitch 67 and the latter is actuated, whereby on the one hand the engine is switched off and on the other hand the alarm device is started.

Instead of the spindle-push rod combination, a toothed rack that can be displaced via a pinion driven by the motor can also be used, which is held in engagement with the pinion by means of a spring and disengaged from the pinion for rapid displacement into the desired starting position against the force of this spring can be brought. The motor would also be mounted tiltable about its rotor axis against the force of a further spring. If the rack were blocked, it would then tilt slightly, which would actuate a switch in the same way as in the example shown in the drawing. There are also other possibilities, but they are all based on the same principle, namely the utilization of the opposing relative movement between the driving and driven parts when the piston feed is blocked.

The device according to the invention with infusion pump described in this way not only enables practical and time-saving work, but also achieves maximum safety for the patient to be treated.

The infusion rate can be read directly from the ammeter and multiplied by the factor selected by the toggle switch. If for any reason there should be a change in the electronic parts, this is immediately visible on the measuring instrument, since the infusion rate is not indicated by setting a setting knob to a mark but by a measurement that is independent of this button. The calibration accuracy is optimal through the use of integrated circuits as frequency divider.

The alarm device is always ready for operation, which results in a further advantage. For example, it can no longer happen that the device is switched on without noticing whether it was previously connected to the mains or not. A power failure is displayed immediately, and what should be emphasized is a defect in the electronic control device. This is particularly important because precisely such errors can easily be overlooked because of the extremely slow feed rates involved and are therefore dangerous.

If the infusion lines are blocked or the piston or coupling part reaches the end position, an alarm signal also sounds.

Finally, the special construction of the coupling part should also be mentioned, which enables the push rod to be moved easily along the threaded spindle into the desired position.

All of the aforementioned advantages offer the possibility of almost automatic patient care. Once the pump has been set, it can be left to its own devices, any malfunction would be indicated immediately by an alarm signal. It is obvious that this can save operating personnel.
