Title cpds. of formula (I) (where A is ethylene, propylene, or isopropylene B is O, S or NR3, D is carbalkoxy, CN, CONH2, CONH-alkyl, or CON(alkyl)2, R1 is halogen, NO2, CF3, 2-5C alkyl or alkanoyl, R2 is phenyl, o-halophenyl, o,o'-dihalophenyl or 2-pyridyl, R3 is H or alkyl, and n is 1 or 2) and their 4-oxides, and basic salts are prepd. e.g. by reacting a corresp. 1-H substd. cpd. or a 4-oxide thereof with a cpd. X-A-B'-CnH2n-D (where B' is O, S or NR'3 in which R'3 is alkyl or a protecting group) any protecting group R'3 being removed after the reaction.
