Abstract

Two roller-mounted seat frames travel on rails and incorporate seat cushions, while backrest cushion frames are also attached to them. In one sitting position they are alongside each other, while in another they form together a couch surface running in the lengthwise direction of the main frame. The backrest frames (25) are solidly fixed to the seat frames (20), which can be moved into positions overhanging the main frame ends. This exposes a plate on the main frame, on which the backrest cushion (27) are placed to fill the intervening space between the seat cushions (26).

Description

Fig. 1 eine Ansicht des Polstermöbels von vorne,
Fig. 2 eine Seitenansicht in Längsrichtung des Gestells,
Fig. 5 eine dementsprechende Draufsicht und

The invention relates to upholstered furniture with a frame and two seat frames, each provided with a seat cushion, which are movably mounted thereon by means of rollers and rails in the frame plane, to which back frames supporting back cushions are attached, the seat frames being movable into a sitting position in which they lie next to one another on the frame in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the seat frames can be moved into a lying position in which they form parts of an elongated lying surface extending in the longitudinal direction of the frame.

Such convertible upholstered furniture can once serve as a couch on which z. B. at least two people can sit next to each other. There is also the option of converting the upholstered furniture into a lounger for one person, with a lounger surface that is longer than the seat in the direction of the frame.

A known convertible upholstered furniture of this type is known from the German utility model 1 785 736. When used as a couch, the seat frames lie against one another with their shorter rectangular sides. The conversion takes place by pivoting the seat frames in their plane by 90, whereby their longer rectangular sides lie against one another and the back cushions are brought to the ends on the head side. The extension is done by folding down the back cushions. Fold-down back frames and rail guides arranged at right angles are required.

The object of the invention is to design convertible upholstered furniture of this type in a structurally simpler way than the aforementioned known upholstered furniture, and also to create a storage area for seated people and a space for storing bedding.

To solve this problem, the upholstered furniture according to the invention is characterized in that the back frames are firmly attached to the seat frame, that at least one of the seat frames can be moved in a straight line in the longitudinal direction of the frame beyond the frame end on its side into a cantilevered seat position, that between the seat frame a plate of the frame becomes free and the space between the seat cushions can be filled by a free back cushion placed on the plate.

A structural simplification is possible with such upholstered furniture because rail guides can be arranged straight instead of at right angles and because a fold-down version of the back frame is not required, but the back frames are fixed in a simpler way. When a seat frame is extended beyond the frame end, the frame between the two seat frames becomes free. There a plate is provided on the frame, which can serve as a storage table for the seated people.

The frame as a part that is necessary in any case can thus take on a task for which additional components are required in conventional upholstered furniture. To use the upholstered furniture as a bed, the free space above the plate between the seat frame or seat cushions can be filled by inserting a back cushion.

Both seat frames can preferably be extended beyond the frame ends. This increases the space in between, and thus the usable area for parking. By inserting the two back cushions into the space in between, a lying surface with excess length can be created. If, according to a preferred embodiment, the back cushions are provided with inclined surfaces, it is easier to insert them into the space between the seat cushions.

The plate of the frame, which can be completely free when the seat frame is pulled apart, can be designed as a removable cover and the frame itself as a bed box. This bed box can be easily accessed from above. No guide parts are required inside the bed box, which could damage the bedding.

Preferably, a rail can be attached outside as guide elements for guiding and holding the seat frame on the frame on a front frame and on a rear frame of the frame, in which rollers attached to longitudinal frames of the seat frame can be guided inside and towards the center, and can something be attached deeper inside on the longitudinal side frames of the seat frame rails, in which the attached rollers can run on the outside of the longitudinal side frames of the frame near the frames. Such an arrangement of rails and rollers allows the seat frames to extend over half of their own length over the ends of the frame. Due to the arrangement of the rails and the rollers, the load moments acting on the seat frame can be transmitted to the frame as a couple of forces.

By using double rollers, the capacity for the forces from the transfer points can be doubled. This can prevent deformation over a longer period of time. Since the seat frames are only moved and not rotated, it is possible to attach fixed armrests.

An embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
1 is a view of the upholstered furniture from the front,
2 shows a side view in the longitudinal direction of the frame,
FIG. 3 is a view corresponding to FIG. 1, but with the seat frame expanded,
4 shows a view from the front in the longer lying position,
Fig. 5 is a corresponding plan view and
FIG. 6 is a plan view of the upholstered furniture corresponding to the position according to FIG. 3.

A frame 10 of the upholstered furniture shown is designed as a box which has a bottom at the bottom, is delimited at the back and front by longitudinal frames and on the two head sides by transverse frames. The box is covered at the top by a plate 15 which is fastened with hinges to a longitudinal frame, so that it can be folded up as a lid in order to make the interior of the box accessible for accommodating bedding.

Two seat frames 20 are guided on the frame in such a way that they can either be brought into a seated position next to one another according to FIG. 1 or into an expanded seat position according to FIG. 3, where each seat frame is free at one end of the frame for more than half its length survives bearing. Latching elements 14 are provided through which the frame and seat frame are latched in the respective positions.

A seat position of the seat frame can also be set, where one seat frame is the normal seat position according to FIG. 1, the other seat frame the extended seat position according to FIG.

  3 has.

A fixed cover is provided on each seat frame, on which a seat cushion 26 lies. A back frame 25 is fixedly attached to the rear frame of each seat frame and serves to support a removable back pad 27.

The seat frames cover approximately the upper half of the side frames of the frame 10.

To guide the seat frame, a rail 11 is attached to the outside of the rear and to the front longitudinal side frame of the frame. Inside the seat frame 20, double rollers 23 attached to the inside run towards the center. Slightly deeper, rails 21 are attached to the front and rear side frames of the seat frames, in which double rollers 13 run, which run on the longitudinal side frames of the frame outside near the frame ends are firmly attached. As a result, the seat frames are guided displaceably in the longitudinal direction of the frame and are held in a load-bearing manner in the extended position.

When the two seat frames are pulled apart as shown in FIG. 3, the plate 15 of the frame between them is free and can serve as a storage area for the seated persons. The plate 15 is the hinged lid of the frame designed as a bed box.
