Fig. 1 eine erste Ausführungsform eines Retentionsstiftes nach der Erfindung;
Fig. 2 eine zweite Ausführungsform eines Retentionsstif- tes nach der Erfindung;

The invention relates to a retention pin in the form of a threaded bolt for anchoring tooth replacement parts on grown tooth parts.
It is known to use retention pins for anchoring tooth replacement parts, primarily tooth crowns, on grown tooth parts. These are small threaded bolts with a length of only a few millimeters, for example 4 mm and a correspondingly small diameter.
Using a conventional drilling device, one or more core holes are drilled into the ground and grown tooth parts prepared for receiving the dental prosthesis, and the retention pins are then screwed into these core holes by the dentist or dentist, with part of their length then being screwed into these pins the drilled tooth surface protrude and form anchors with these protruding parts, which hold the tooth replacement part to be attached securely and firmly.
The handling of these small threaded bolts and above all screwing them into the grown tooth part is very complex and laborious and here now the invention comes into play, which proposes to avoid these disadvantages that the retention pin is designed as the end part of a shaft that can be inserted into a Bohnerkzeug and between End part and shaft a predetermined breaking point is provided.
The invention and its application are explained in more detail with the aid of the drawing.
Show it:
1 shows a first embodiment of a retention pin according to the invention;
2 shows a second embodiment of a retention pin according to the invention;
3 shows the application of the retention pin on a grown tooth part.
The retention pin designed as a threaded bolt 1 is designed in one piece with a shank 2 that can be inserted into a conventionally known drilling tool (not shown here), the transition point between the shank 2 and the threaded bolt 1 being designed as a predetermined breaking point 3 with a tapered cross-section compared to the threaded bolt 1. In the case of the retention pin according to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the shaft 2 which can be inserted into the tool is designed essentially cylindrical. The upper end piece of this shaft is offset radially by a milled cut and also has a constriction 4.
The constriction and the milling serve to secure the workpiece according to FIG. 1 in the drilling tool against an axial offset and secondly to be taken along by the drive of the drilling tool.
1 shows the retention pin on a greatly enlarged scale; the entire length L is in reality only a few millimeters, for example 15 mm. The free end of the threaded bolt 1 carries a conical tip 8, the cone angle z of which is designed as an acute angle. The embodiment of FIG. 2 corresponds in all essential points to that of FIG. 1, for which reason equivalent parts have been provided with the same reference numerals, but a reference line has been added to distinguish them. The only difference is that here the shaft 2 'is conical and tapers towards the threaded bolt 1' over its entire length. The advantage that can be achieved in this way will be discussed below.
The use of the retention pin is explained in more detail below with reference to FIG. 3 shows, on a greatly enlarged scale and in an oblique view, a tooth 5, the damaged upper part (tooth crown) of which has already been removed (milled off). A tooth replacement part, an artificial tooth crown, is to be placed on the essentially flat and prepared surface 6. In the grown tooth part 5, starting from the prepared surface 6, two or more holes 7 are now drilled, the axes of which can be placed at an angle to one another.
This drilling process takes place in a conventional manner and with conventional tools. If these holes 7 are now drilled, a retention pin according to FIG. 1 or according to FIG. 2 n the drilling tool is inserted, the tip is placed on the hole 7 and the Bohrv tool is now switched on, which screws the retention pin into this hole 7. If the retention pin hits the bottom of the borehole 7, the torque acting on the retention pin increases suddenly, since this retention pin can no longer move downwards and the predetermined breaking point 3 yields, whereby the shaft 2 and pin 1 are separated from each other. The shaft 2 is thrown away and the retention pin 1 is now screwed into the tooth 6.
In order to increase the anchoring, the protruding parts of these pins 1 can still be bent a little with suitable pliers. In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, for the sake of clarity, the two drill holes 7 are shown with an essentially parallel axis. In practice, however, these two axes will usually form an angle with one another. The dental prosthesis is now placed in a conventional manner on the anchoring framework prepared in this way, which is formed here by the pins 1.
The retention pin according to FIG. 2 is used in a corresponding manner. The shaft 2 ', which, like the shaft 2, has a positive deformation at the rear end, due to the conical design of the shaft 2', has the possibility of swinging slightly within the shaft guide specified by the drilling tool, which means that this retention pin is inserted into the tooth 6 pre-drilled core hole 7 is facilitated in practice, since the shaft rotating in the drilling tool and here swinging out slightly has the option of automatically searching for the core hole 7 pre-drilled for it.
In tooth 5 according to FIG. 3, two I (holes are drilled again in the prepared tooth surface 6 for the crown attachment, with a retention pin already screwed into one core hole. The shaft above the predetermined breaking point 3, 3 'is a disposable part.
