Abstract

The oscillating system, comprising a poised balance and a hairspring which is sized so that the watch runs slow, is placed in the watch. The frequency is adjusted while the watch is running by drilling, with laser rays, a predetermined number of symmetric and gauged holes through a thin shroud, of constant thickness, carried by the rim of the balance. The firing of the laser is triggered and synchronised through the detection of a particular feature of the balance.
